How do I create a link to my specific plan instead of searching through everyone's plans to find my own? I remember doing this in years past but can't remember how I did it.

Bookmarking is accomplished by cliicking on the star in your search window at the top. Now, whenever I want to see it, I simply click on it.

Thanks John. I thought there was a way to save it right to my home page of the ATY challenge group.
If you are on the website you can find any threads you’ve started in the group by using the “My Group Topics” link. It’s on the right hand side at the top with a lot of other links.

Hello, I'm new to the challenge and was wondering how many pages a book has to be to classify as enough for the challenge?
Your call! Some people put their own restrictions, while others will use children's books to fulfill the challenge.
We occasionally have restrictions (mostly for read-a-thons) but the general yearly challenge is up to you!

The printable list is posted on the thread with the 52 prompts!

I often read more than one book for a prompt but the spreadsheet isn’t set up to count the extra books. Do you have any suggestions on how to remedy that?
People who complete the challenge multiple times usually have multiple columns - one for each time they work through the challenge. That could be an option for you! Otherwise it's hard to create formulas that count multiple books written within the same box.
When do we usually start discussing the topics for next year? For some reason I was thinking I remembered March, but it's been a few years since I've done the challenge.

It seems like it takes all year, but it's actually around July.

We do the pre-poll (if we continue doing it) in the last week of June, and our first suggestions thread kicks off July 1!
Can anyone provide the list of rejected prompts in the same exact order as they are listed in the Community Spreadsheet? I would copy and paste it from the spreadsheet, but I can’t seem to grab onto it properly on this device. (My laptop is down.) I’ve completely ignored the spreadsheet this year, so I have a lot of catching up to do. I might even have 3 rounds by now.
ETA
Never mind, it looks like it’s the same as the voting results summary Emily posted. I just need to edit and add in some numbers for reference.
Richard wrote: "Since I started late, it looks like I can't add my name & details to the SRC spreadsheet."
You should be able to add any time, some people do a 2nd or 3rd round which they add later.
Emily, can you assist Richard?

Richard wrote: "Since I started late, it looks like I can't add my name & details to the SRC spreadsheet."Are you using the new spreadsheet that Emily just posted? She changed jobs so she had to move it.
You should be able to add a new column (waaay at the right) with your name. I often have problems using the spreadsheet with my iPad. I have to remember to “ Request desktop version”. On my device. It’s in the “ …. “ Area between translate and find in page.
Oh dang, I didn't realize we had run out of room there! I added a few more, though the challenge ends Friday so I don't think there will be many people adding their names now.
Emily wrote: "Oh dang, I didn't realize we had run out of room there! I added a few more, though the challenge ends Friday so I don't think there will be many people adding their names now."I only joined ATY 2 days ago. So that's why started late.
Could a mod please delete this for me? I'm unable to.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Instead of adding a new page every time I start a new challenge, I want to just put them all in the one place - my challenge tracker. Then when I finish each one, I'll show what I did in the completion thread for each challenge.
Is that ok? If not, please let me know.
Is there a problem with the spreadsheet? I keep getting "a view only" format. This has never happened before and I'm not sure how to contact the spreadsheet owner. Could you please contact them.Problem now fixed. Maybe they were just working on the sheet as I was trying to enter things. All good!
Help please. The formula is wrong on the spreadsheet for my column. The top cell is not included so is starting from AH5 when it should start at AH4. Ive finished but is only showing as 51 books.
Im in G-L column AH, KLARE. It's protected so i can't fix by myself.
Has anything about the "reading challenge" system changed recently. I am having a problem with adding more books to my aty challenge completed books list, I am stuck at 29 books read but have 32 books finished on my aty challenge shelf.
You need to make sure that you are shelving the books you're reading on the correct shelf that you linked for the challenge, and you have to make sure that your "Read" date is within this year - sometimes people update their status but don't set a read date and that can mess with it.

Click on the link showing how many books you have completed. If the list it takes you to is correct, it should update so that the widget will have the right number. If not, you could go through the list to see which are missing and check the dates on those books.
Thanks Emily and Kendra> To keep my previous post shorter, I didn't mention two additional issues that occurred at the same time in the next two comments.
Issue 1: When I click to write/edit or edit my activity links, the page that s delivered only includes the box for a review and comments but does not include the section with all the buttons for the reading information, From Emily's answer, I think that fixing this issue might solve the update issue.
Issue 2: I think that I am missing some of the content on my Home Page. When I navigate to my Home Page, I only see the content in the middle (of three) columns, Unless my memory deceives me, there was content in the left-hand and right-hand columns. Is this a problem? Could this be related to the other two issues?

Because when I try to update GR using my phone, I see the same thing...whereas, when I use the computer, I see all.
I find the app almost useless. It takes some maneuvering but if you can find something that says Desktop Version or just go to your browser and get to the website, you should have all your usual options. (I had a new tablet that insisted on taking me to the app even when I typed in the web address, and I never did find the link for Desktop version, but eventually it deigned to take me to the actual website.)
Bea and Robin - Thanks for the advice. I have piddled around and have "fixed" everything. I do use a tablet (Surface Pro) which processes more like a mobile device than a traditional laptop/desktop). As you noted, there are some aspects of the user interface that work somewhat differently on the "desktop" and "mobile" (or In Bea's words "computer" and "phone?}. I found it easier to adjust my updates so that I could get consistent results on my tablet and on my mobile phone. The one puzzle that I still have is that the "dates" function on my tablet is still not working (but I can handle those problems from my mobile phone).

LOL.
This has probably already been answered, but...I've finished the challenge? Now what? I updated my books read on the spreadsheet. Is that all I need to do?
Congrats! That's it really, haha. Just your own personal joy at this point. We have a readathon coming up in September that you're welcome to join in.

If you haven't already posted on the 2024 Completion Thread - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/..., you can do that to share your best books and other thoughts on the challenge. Congratulations on finishing!

I thought I was on the spreadsheet but I guess I was wrong.I am relegated to my Kindle Fire for the time being, so maybe that is why, but I can't seem to add my name/entries. Any ideas? LMK how to proceed, or if I waited too long for 2024. Thanks

Allegra, you should still be able to add your name to the spreadsheet! You would need the Google Sheets app to be able to edit it though, so maybe that's what's going on.
Allie, the read-a-thon information will go live today or tomorrow! It starts on Saturday. I've been a bit distracted with the hurricane, but it should go live soon.

Hello moderators!Thank you so much for all the great work that you do in this group. It's so great to see the final 2025 ATY list. I'm excited to get started already.
Is it possible for you to take a look at the 2025 Plans tab in the Community Spreadsheet? It looks like the formula in the final total cell (C65) is not calculating all the cells in the list (only calculating from cell 17 to 64 vs cell 4 to 64).
Have a great week!
Ah yes! When I started moving around the rows to rearrange the prompts into list order, it broke the formula. I'll fix it now, thanks!
