The Night Whistler by Greg Woodland is an Aussie rural crime story that features a young boy who refuses to give up and a disgracefully demoted detective who believes him.

Lara Hawthorne has produced the loveliest Christmas book I've seen in a long time. The Twelve Days of Christmas is beautiful and has a lot of interesting details kids (and grown-ups) will love. Great gift!

I'm a bit ashamed to say that I have had The Funny Thing About Norman Foreman: A Novel by Aussie author Julietta Henderson sitting on my NetGalley list for some eight months (although the publish date did change from July 20 to Jan 21). I'm so glad I have finally read it: what a wonderful read, funny, moving, heart-warming and uplifting. I hope there's a lot more to come from this talented author.5 BIG ★s

I really enjoyed the audio version of Monica McInerney twelfth novel, The Godmothers. Each narrative strand is read by a different narrator: Annie Maynard, Ella Scott-Lynch and Nicky Shields do an excellent job of bringing this lovely read to life.5★s

Back in late 2017, I really enjoyed the print version of the first book in Jack Heath's Timothy Blake series, Hangman. I usually love Gregg Olsen's books but this one, the third in his Megan Carpenter series didn't really work for me.
