Sorry (not sorry) for the terrible pun but Daisy Donovan's narration of Maggie O'Farrell's account of her brushes with death, I Am, I Am, I Am: Seventeen Brushes with Death really brings it to life.4.5★s

My review for
The Bass Rock by Evie Wyld, quite a challenging read but well worth reading.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
For those who enjoy historical fiction, few are better than Bernard Cornwell. I've recently re-read the entire Sharpe series but am just rating his novel on Waterloo.Sharpe's Waterloo

My review of
Flesh House by Stuart MacBride (not for the squeamish).https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A review of Children of Fire by Daniel Ferguson . The novel is about a ragtag group of survivors called Tesla Squad and their infamous exploits. Set in a post-apocalyptic Brisbane, it attempts to deliver on a series of increasingly over-the-top action sequences, but fails miserably.
I really enjoyed Humphrey Bower's narration of the audio version of Jasper Jones by Aussie author, Craig Silvey. But I would recommend against reading this on public transport, especially any scenes that include Jeffrey Lu, as you might disturb other travellers each time you burst out laughing. Also maybe don't be eating or drinking....5★s

I've enjoyed all the Graham Brack novels I've read so far, and the second in the Master Mercurius historical mystery series is another winner. Untrue till Death takes place in the Netherlands in the 17th century, full of murder and intrigue with the author's trademark humour.
4.5★ Link to my Untrue Till Death review
Anthony Horowitz's popular Magpie Murders has another fan. Two mystery novels in book. Loved it!

Liza Perrat is an expert at depicting Australia in the 1960's and her latest Australian novel, The Lost Blackbird, is further proof of this. A powerful, heart-breaking tale.4.5★s
