Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Book #1 of Robert Bryndza's new Kate Marshall series, Nine Elms was pretty good, but not quite Erika Foster standard. I will check out #2 Shadow Sands when it is published, though.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Thanks to Wollongong City Libraries, I really enjoyed listening to Aiofe McMahon’s brilliant narration of The Ruin (who doesn’t love an Irish accent?) and the only tiny niggles are the hints of South African, American and New Zealand vowels, at times, in Maude’s Australian accent. And after her first 15 years in Ireland and then some 18 years in Australia, shouldn’t it be more Irish and less Aussie? The audiobook stated “unabridged”. I think, perhaps, “enhanced” might describe it better, as there was an extra bit in chapter 20 that definitely wasn’t in the final print.
5★s for this one too

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I picked up You and Me by Aussie artist and author Michael Leunig from one of those street libraries because, well, a bit of Leunig's always entertaining, isn't it? And now it can go back for someone else to be entertained.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Having recently read another novel ( The Two Lives of Lydia Bird) which started out the same way (grieving widow mourning the love of her life suddenly taken) I can categorically state that this one, Come Again is MUCH, MUCH better. I do like a bit of time travel and I enjoyed the resolution in the final chapter. Basically I loved it and I can’t wait to see what actor, comedian and author Robert Webb does next.
It’s out in April so I suggest you pre-order or reserve at the library now.
