Not crime, but I'm enjoying Charles Yu's Interior Chinatown.

As far as mystery reading goes, I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of The Decagon House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji which Book Depository said was on its way. After that, I start working on the Colección El Séptimo Círculo list of crime novels published by Borges and Adolfo Bioy Casares between 1945 and 1956. In English, not in Spanish.

Sadly, a number of the books are long out of print, but I'll muddle through with what I can get.

In this sci-fi novel, one of Saturn's moons leaves orbit and heads for outer space. A mining spaceship follows the departing moon with unexpected consequences.

Good story. 3.5 stars

Bill I'm enjoying Agent 6 by Tom Rob Smith and The Coroner by M.R. Hall. I've also been focusing on Nevil Shute this month and am reading a 'prophetic warning' about the danger of WWII and air raids against England, What Happened to the Corbetts. It's sort of a precursor to his later work which warned about the danger of nuclear war, On the Beach.

Finished Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu (fantastic, if a bit strange); starting The Public Burning by Robert Coover and getting ahead of my Christmas reading a bit early with The First Leonaur Christmas Book of Great Ghost Stories.

I'll be cooking all day today, so I just want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Among other things, I'm thankful for the very good people in this group.

In this 25th book in the 'Alex Delaware' series, a female teacher at an exclusive prep school dies in odd circumstances. The book can be read as a standalone.

Okay mystery.

PattyMacDotComma | 920 comments I read the 4th book in Charlie Garratt's Inspector James Given series, Where Every Man, and I'm sure readers of the earlier books would like this one, where he is facing the fast-approaching Nazis in France in 1938.

Really more a novel than a mystery, the story of criminal money launderers is told from several viewpoints. It's an interesting exercise but it's not an easy read. And left unsaid is where all this money comes from and what it pays for. 2 stars.
