Ellery Hathaway barely survived an abduction to become a police detective. Now she's searching for another girl that disappeared.
Good thriller. 3.5 stars

I don't use the app, but I just updated my progress & it works for me. It may be the app. What I have noticed is that once again, updates are behind. My last update came from 50 hours ago which is unlikely in reality.

Seymour of the Special Branch #1. In 1910 the British Consul in Trieste is killed and Sandor Seymour, a British cop, is sent to investigate. Reads almost like a cozy. Interesting style. Fun if you're in the right mood. 3 stars.

Bruce, I just heard back from support:
"I'm sorry for the trouble! Our developers are aware of a couple of bug that are both preventing users from updating their reading progress from the iOS app and causing the feed not to update, and they're working on fixing it. "
btw: they suggest going to the desktop site to update your progress
and for those of you not getting updates, they have no idea how long the situation is going to remain like this.

Wow Christine! I thought I was having a good year but I haven't even gotten to 60 yet.

Joe by Larry Brown
Rating: 4 stars (but I could be talked into 5)

and I started reading:

Tourist Season by Carl Hiaasen
Now I only need to finish 41 more to catch up to Christine!

No, not at all. It's easily read as a standalone.

You're very welcome. I think you could probably read her books in any order you would like to.

The Devil and the Dark Water
by: Stuart Turton
Cerebral mystery, well worth all the hype. My full review:

Finished The Stranger Diaries by Elly Griffiths. I read this because it won the Edgar award for best novel, very disappointing. Boring characters and underwhelming mystery. Rating - 2/5

Solomon vs. Lord #2, OK to read as a stand-alone. Lightweight legal mystery set in South Florida. Fun, easy read. I liked it, 4 stars.

Chasm City is the sequel to Revelation Space but works fine as a standalone.
In this sci-fi story, a former soldier is on a revenge quest to kill a man who's escaped to Chasm City, a place that harbors the horrific Melding Plague.
Good world-building and an action-packed plot. 3.5 stars

Just finished ⭐⭐⭐ crime thriller set in New Delhi

I finished Snow by John Banville about 2 a.m. this morning. I need to give myself time to think about it. Moving on to The Onion Field.
I've also read a combo book from Stark House, Too Many Bones / Blood From a Stone by Ruth Sawtell Wallis, 1943 / 1945. Fun mysteries, especially the first, although if you're ever looking for an archaeological mystery the second is quite good as well.

Thank you! I'm going to jump on in!

I just finished leave No Trace.

Cecil Younger #5, OK to read as a stand-alone. Cecil is hired to investigate deaths aboard a cruise ship, deaths which may not be natural. Straley has a unique style and it took me a while to adapt, since I haven't read him in quite a while. But once I did the plot, characters, action, scenes all took off. 4 stars, I liked it a lot.
