Another fun one by John Sandford. Here’s my review:

Now starting THE LIFE WE BURY by Allen Eskens. I saw that it earned a bunch of award nominations for Best First Mystery Novel so I thought I would try it out.

I stayed up way too late last night reading and finishing The Hex Murder: A Golden-Age Mystery Reprint, but it was so worth it. I know, I read strange books, but they're generally good.

Dresden Files #11, OK to read as stand-alone altho some details may be confusing. Harry Dresden is the only wizard in Chicago with an ad in the Yellow Pages. In this story an old enemy comes to Harry for help and in the process Harry's brother (who is a vampire) gets kidnapped. Sci-fi fantasy mystery, can be fun if you're in the mood. I liked it OK but if the book had been half as long it would have been fine with me. 3 stars.

This book is available to request from NetGalley until June 30, 2020.

Finished Iron Lake by William Kent Krueger. A solid start to a new series. Rating - 3/5

Next book is a thriller / fantasy from 1931, Daughter of Fu Manchu by Sax Rohmer.

In this second book in the 'Marygene Brown Mystery' series, the baker/amateur sleuth discovers two crispy corpses.....and her Mama's ghost says she has to investigate the crimes. The book works well as a standalone.
Fun cozy. 3 stars

Finished One Fine Day the Rabbi Bought a Cross. I really enjoyed it. While there was a murder to solve Rabbi Small worked quietly around the edges to help the various police authorities. It reminds me of Miss Marple quietly observing and talking to people and finding the hidden connections.

I can’t recommend this series enough. Here’s my four star review:

Seven Up by Janet Evanovich finished the audiobook of this one which was really well done. Long ago I lived in Philadelphia and there are lots of similarities to areas of Philly and family dynamics.

Stephanie Plum #16, OK to read as stand-alone. Stephanie's cousin and employer gets kidnapped and it's up to Stephanie to get him back. Light amusing entry in the light amusing mystery series. 3 stars.

I read the series years ago. I enjoyed the TV series as well.. I think..

by Emma Copley Eisenberg

I hate it when that happens... really loved the book can see where its going or where I want it to go and then either it fades to nothing which I get annoyed by or there's a twist which doesn't make sense lol
