HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments They're easy to knock off the list!

message 52: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Life (depression/anxiety/grief) hit like a semi this weekend and has me a complete mess. Haven't read/listened to much of anything and really not motivated to at all. Going to push this next week while at work to finish all the currently reading books I have going but backing off for March.. going to give myself some time to breathe and heal.

message 53: by Sonnie (new)

Sonnie (sonnie2006) I am so sorry Heather! I have those moments too and I just can't concentrate at all to read when dealing with depression or anxiety. Do what you need to do to heal! <3

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments February stats:

I'm sending you all the positive vibes and well wishes, Heather! As previously mentioned, take the time you need to take care of yourself ❤

message 57: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Thank you all <3

message 58: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Hugs and positive vibes to you, Heather! Hope it would be better soon. For me this month was also not very good since I had a shoulder fracture (it's still being healed), but I already can use both hands to write messages :)

message 59: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Thank you Jess!

message 60: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments First 1-star rating of the year done... Tiger's Quest (The Tiger Saga, #2) by Colleen Houck .. this was a pretty big yikes for me. I'll continue with the series because I'm dumb but no high hopes here..

message 61: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Oh no 😬 I'm curious, because usually if I give a book 1 star (or even 2 stars!) I do not want to go near that series again, what is it about this series that makes you want to go on with it even though you didn't enjoy it? Is it because you're 2 books in and you're invested, or something else? I am genuinely curious 😅

message 62: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I'm a glutton for punishment? I enjoyed the first book well enough so I guess I'm just still trying to hold on to that? Not really sure.

message 63: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
😂 It makes sense that you want to continue with it since you enjoyed the first. And I hope the series gets better for you! Maybe this book just suffered from Second Book Syndrome or whatever people call it. Lol.

message 64: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6454 comments Mod
Ouch! I think you must be a glutton for punishment. Although I do get wanting to give it another go since book 1 was enjoyable

message 65: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments If book 3 is as bad as two I may give up. We shall see.

message 66: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Finished Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales which was an arc I won a few months back and was super slow to get to but ended up loving it! So adorable even though it made me cry a bit lol.

message 67: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6454 comments Mod
Good to know! I think that one looks fabulous

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Brittany wrote: "Good to know! I think that one looks fabulous"

It was! And a super quick read! I forget sometimes how much I enjoy a good contemporary.

message 69: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6454 comments Mod
Right? Me too. Sometimes its just the change I need

message 70: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Finished Opposition (Lux, #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout which adds a completed series to my stats. It was a series I started this year, though, so it didn't help me clear off any old ones >.<

message 71: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
But it's still a series you had on your tbr so hey, hurray for that. Lol.

message 72: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Liliana wrote: "But it's still a series you had on your tbr so hey, hurray for that. Lol."

For sure! I ended up checking out the audios from my library but have owned the ebooks for years so it was nice to finally get them done.

message 73: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments First poetry book of the year done: The Princess Saves Herself in This One (Women Are Some Kind of Magic, #1) by Amanda Lovelace .

message 74: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6454 comments Mod
That is a poetry book I might actually be able to read. Not usually my thing.

And a finished series is still a finished series!

message 75: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Not usually my thing either but my second Lovelace poetry book and I like her stuff. Plus, you can knock it out in an hour or so!

message 76: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments Oh I've meant to read that for a while now! I am not the biggest poetry fan but sometimes I'm all in for empowering quotes!

message 77: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments This one hit me pretty hard due to some of the content being relatable to a loss in my life so that was surprising for me. Also some great book-ish quotes from it!

message 78: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Just finished Come Tumbling Down (Wayward Children, #5) by Seanan McGuire which completes another series on my list! (for now, there will be more released in the future but not until 2021).

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Jess wrote: "Wow! You're so great at finishing the series! I think I just add and add new ones ><"

I keep adding more too hah! Have added as many if not more than I have actually finished >.<

message 82: by Elena (new)

Those are good prompts Heather!

message 85: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I'm pretty excited for them! Mostly fairly open so easy to work within any genres I feel like reading!

message 86: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Another poetry book down, To Drink Coffee with a Ghost (Things that Haunt, #2) by Amanda Lovelace . Only one more left by this author and I'll have read all of hers.

message 87: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Finished The Mermaid's Voice Returns in This One (Women Are Some Kind of Magic, #3) by Amanda Lovelace which is the last of Amanda Lovelace's poetry series. It also means I have finished two series - Women Are Some Kind of Magic which I started in 2019, and Things That Haunt You that I started this month. Sometimes it is nice to have a quick read and in each of hers I found something to relate or connect to!

That's awesome Heather!

message 89: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Thanks! I'll hopefully be finishing Bitterblue tonight at work as well so that will be another series and my March PIFM pick finished!

message 90: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Finished Bitterblue (Graceling Realm, #3) by Kristin Cashore which knocks another series off!

message 93: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Trying too! After seeing Jess's post, I'm adding the Rainbow Challenge as well!

message 94: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Binged Tunnel of Bones (Cassidy Blake, #2) by Victoria Schwab today.. all caught up on that series until September! I love Victoria Schwab so much <3

message 95: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I've only read the Monsters of Verity duology by V.E. but it was so messy and wonderful that I am sure this is her personal writing style and I love it!

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) | 2304 comments Mod
YES!! I adore VE Schwab. I still have a few of hers to read but I absolutely adored all the ones I've read (Cassidy Blake, ADSOM, Monsters of Verity, Vicious)

message 97: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I've read Monsters of Verity, Cassidy Blake, the first Archived book and The Near Witch. But I am definitely a fan and looking forward to reading more this year.

You have to read the Shades of Magic trilogy and Vicious and Vengeful. They're my faves!

message 99: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments They're on my TBR for this year! I'm super looking forward to them as so many of my GR friends have loved them!

YES to Shades of Magic. They are phenomenal. I haven't read Vengeful yet but I can't wait to read it. I loved Vicious.
