I just finished Berkley Street by Ron RipleyI thought it was a very entertaining haunted house/ghost story.
I just finished Old Man's War by John Scalzi Although its science fiction and space opera there were parts of it that were so gruesome I thought I was reading a horror novel for a moment. Lol.
Loved it!
One thing that has impressed me about the Michelle Paver books I've read is that she seems to be spot on with the historical aspect of it, including speech patterns and phrases.
Alastor wrote: "Finished Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix in the first hours of 2020"That was fast! The group read started only yesterday. ;)
I finished the second comic from Joe Hill: Basketful of Heads (2019-) #2. It was pretty damn short for $3.99. :(

Sadly, that is a typical comic book price these days.

First book of 2020! A pretty decent read and nice one to start the year on! Nice and gory!"
I just read that a month or two ago. I liked it too. :)
I finished Black Ambrosia yesterday. It was an excellent vampire book and different from most others I've read.
I finished The Twisted Ones
via audiobook. Overall, I enjoyed it. A bit slow to get going, and a bit repetitive in places, but still good.

It DOES sound interesting!
Wasn't expecting much with this but ended up really liking it! Have already purchased the second book and will be reading in the near future!
The Rats, old school British horror by James Herbert, brilliant read, here is a link to my reviewhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My first read of the year was Naruto (3-in-1 Edition), Vol. 2: Includes Vols. 4, 5 & 6, which was fun, apart from the cliffhanger ending!
So far I have finished reading these two books:
by Andy Peloquin - five star read - New science fiction author for me and cannot wait to continue on with the series. :)
by David Haynes - four star read - this book was really good! Very enjoyable read! Creepy ride into horror! :)
really poor, lot of nothing happening really! Ah well can't be an amazing book every time, on to the next one :)
Finished reading Plague - a 5-star read for me. Lots of action and plenty of scenes that will make you go 'ugh!'.

Much as we would love to LOVE every book we read, sadly some don't measure up. Better luck with your next read, Padders.
I just finished a book from Luke Walker, but it's not listed here yet. PANDEMONIUM is the title and I liked it a lot.
Just finished The Triumvirate by Mary SanGiovanni. The last book in The Hollower trilogy and the best IMO. 4/5
I finally finished Midnight in the Graveyard which was so much fun!Dog Days was the standout for me, but overall it was an exceptional collection!

Entombed by Brian KeeneI know Keene was going through a dark time when he wrote this (I don't think he even remembers writing it) and it shows. This one is BLEAK and ANGRY, even for his own standards. 3/5
I just finishd Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
by Patrick SüskindI enjoyed it - a very unusual and original tale.
Just finished Our Dark Secret which was an interesting 'thriller' with not too many thrills. My review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
