Cool, we can chat about it!

Holly R W | 3181 comments Yes, I'd really like that!

message 53: by Elise (new)

Elise (ellinou) My only goal in 2020 is to read only books from my TBR list, so for thriller that means Dark Matter by Blake Crouch or In the Woods by Tana French. There might be others but they're too far down the list, I didn't see them. So I'll try for one of those two.

Joi (missjoious) | 3970 comments Amy wrote: "Isn't anybody interested in reading Darling Rose Gold with me? Feels like it just came out and folks are five starring it everywhere. Its on my 2020 priority list in fact."

I am, but I see the release date as March 2020, so I don't see it happening for me.

As you folks know. I'm always reading thriller and am still on the everlasting 'psychological thriller' boat. Will be awaiting what you all think of Woman in the Window. I really enjoyed it this year, and am excited for the movie in 2020 also.

I'll be reading/considering
-Hidden Bodies- Second in the You series. Creepy, thriller, and has a netflix series which the second season is coming out this week.
-The Wife Between Us
-Bring Me Back
-Behind Her Eyes- making up for not reading it as a Trim book this year
-Lock Every Door

Amy | 13033 comments I think I put it on hold at my library.... Funny that I didn't know it wasn't yet released. I will keep you guys posted. It just became a possible Trim Continuation Buddy Read at #22.

LOL that makes me feel better!
Don't know if you remember my suffering messages during The Road...

Jen (jentrewren) | 1131 comments There are so many on the thriller list which are also on my TBR I think I will wait to see what I feel like!

message 59: by Nicole D. (new)

Nicole D. | 1573 comments I've really been enjoying the Dennis Lehane Kenzie and Gennaro series, Gone, Baby, Gone probably the most famous.

message 60: by Nicole R (new)

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 8088 comments I have read very little (any?) Lehane despite liking his movies! Maybe one of these days...

I think you might like some Lehane, but I know for sure that you should avoid Mystic River. I used to read everything that he came out with, but did not love Shutter Island, so I haven't read any since then, even though I put them on my tbr.

message 62: by Darci (new)

Darci Day | 176 comments I think I'm going to read The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle for this. I might also try to finish The Woman in the Window. I tried to read it for the October challenge, but gave up on it half way through.

Hi Meli, I brought the book home from the library yesterday. In looking at it, I realize that this is not a book for me. I'll be interested in reading your thoughts on it.

I completely agree! I loved A Gentleman in Moscow and it's not scary - I wouldn't have tagged as thriller. But that works.

I might read that for this one, but I have another one here already, so will see if I manage to read two thrillers in one month. It's a Jan group read in one of my GR groups.

message 66: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 3190 comments Newbie here, is there a minimum number of tags for a book to qualify? Or is even just 1 person enough? Thanks!

message 67: by Nicole R (new)

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 8088 comments Welcome, Jen K! There is no minimum number of times a book must be tagged in order for it to count—1 is sufficient!

In fact, with our monthly tags, we are even more flexible than that. You can read any book you think fits thriller even if it is NOT tagged that way at all. So long as you have a rational reason for believing a book is a thriller, that works for us!

Note that when it comes to the official PBT Challenges (Poll Ballot Tally and BINGO in 2020) then we are more strict and those two challenges have their own set of rules.

But for general reading for the monthly tag, we are flexible!

message 68: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 3190 comments Awesome, thanks for the quick response!

Kathy (kacovarrubias) | 32 comments What a great tag to start 2020!

I have on my list:

The Wife Between Us
Dark Places
Sharp Objects
Along Came a Spider
Killing Floor
Cop Town

I already had The Wife Between Us on my Kindle. And I've never read anything written by James Patterson, so this may be a good time!

message 70: by Sara (new)

Sara (mootastic1) | 770 comments I didn't initially think I would be reading much for this tag, but my library sent two books I had requested a while back both tagged thriller, after I had already picked a book from my personal library to read. Three books for this tag is way more than I expected.

message 71: by Nicole R (new)

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 8088 comments Sara, I am in the same boat! I also have three books from the library for thriller that all came in at once. Now I have to read them all in the next two weeks 😂

message 72: by Joanne (new)

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12761 comments Looks like # 3 got everyone! I also had 2 books on hold-it wasn't looking good, so I picked a 3rd to start.....the other 2 showed up yesterday! Yikes-time to burrow in and do some reading I guess!

message 73: by Amy (new)

Amy | 13033 comments I have three thrillers for this month too! I’m even reading In the Woods for 2007, even though it’s not on my bingo card. Simply because it fits the tag...

message 74: by Joi (new)

Joi (missjoious) | 3970 comments OMG this tag is NOT HELPING me cut back my TBR list!!!

I noticed that as I was going through all the threads Joi..LoL

message 76: by Booknblues (new)

Booknblues | 12319 comments I think thrillers are fairly quick reads and I have a number on my tbr. The drawback is that I won't feel like reading any for a while after this month.

I used to live on a diet of thrillers, mysteries and romances, but that doesn't hit the spot for me any longer.

I am going through the same thing where I binged them and now I am fatigued on that formula.
