Oh, yeah, I love Ranger - I haven't read any of the recent few, but I keep hoping she'll drop Morelli and get with Ranger. : )

10.9- Finish it Up (Tara’s Task) - Little White Lies - Gemma Townley - this was really cute, read it in one day.
and I started on 25.1 - thanks for the suggestion to make Hardly Working my topaz book! (I think it was topaz, anyway...)

message 257: by Jen B (new)

Jen B (jennybee618) Wow! Lots going on this weekend! :)

Welcome to the challenge, Melissa! Hope you enjoy it!

I've only read the first of the Stephanie Plum books, but I've managed to accumulate most of the rest of the series (2-11) thanks to PBS and used bookstores. So I'm starting in on the next ones for this challenge. But it's a little too early for me to pick Team Ranger or Team Morelli yet, so I'll hold off judgment for another couple of books. ;)

Melanie, I loved Little White Lies, too. I think that's actually my favorite of Gemma Townley's books. Did you mean 10.9, or 5.9? 10.9 is the "dream job" one, and 5.9 is finishing a book you've already started once before.

Jen B (jennybee618) I'm moving some things around a bit on my list. I'm participating in another challenge concurrently, so I'm trying to make as many books count for both as possible. Since I'd started some 25 point tasks I'm not sure I'll have the chance to finish, I decided to move those books to count for other tasks. So:

10.2 - Garlic and Sapphires by Ruth Reichl (finished this one last week). This one takes place in NYC, which is one of my favorite places to visit. It has been all too long since I've been back!

10.5 - Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty - I'm thankful for a number of things (most of all my boys -- husband, son, and little guy on the way), but I'm also thankful for the ability to write. Being able to put thoughts and feelings into words has been a hobby, a therapy, a way to entertain my little one, and a number of other wonderful things to me. And maybe one day I can actually make it a profitable career! This book works for this one b/c Jessica is a writer, keeps a journal, etc.

No problem, it's fixed. Owning a shop sounds like kind of a dream job, so I wasn't quite sure. :) Of course, any job sounds like a dream job compared to my own! ;)

10.5 - Don't Scream by Wendy Corsi Staub

It's a murder mystery, so don't get the wrong idea! I am thankful for my sorority sisters. Some of them are my best friends and I don't get to see them often enough.

Also--Wendy Corsi Staub is Wendy Markham. Since I love the Slightly books, I was really curious to read something different by her, and luckily I found a book that fit the challenge. I have to say, I didn't like this book nearly as much as her others. It was good, but not as good. And it was way too long.

message 282: by Alicia (new)

Alicia (diva2416) | 819 comments I did it was good. Not quite Harry Potter, but I definitely can see myself reading the rest of the series....I wish I read this after college when I still had some knowledge of Greek Mythology. I think there is a movie version of this coming out sometime soon.

I am currently reading (don't ask me why, he is such an a**hole). I know that it doesn't specifically say Hell in the list of words, but it goes along with the whole creepy Halloweeny theme. You guys are too funny. TV...is that the box that's attached to my bedroom wall that has moving pictures and people talking and stuff? :) Probably not a bad thing to not watch much TV, but I feel so out-of-touch sometimes (I have no idea who that guy is either...). I guess I can attribute that to a busy life with a 3-year-old. Well, and laziness, too. This morning I was actually alone in my house (!!) and was going to turn the news on, but then I couldn't find the remote (my guys tend to lose it) and I was too lazy to stand there and change the channel from cartoons (channel 74) down to the news (channel 13), so I didn't even bother to turn it on. :)
