Synopsis

I really like this series and Kelley Armstrong's writing in general. I'm a few books behind, I'll see if I can catch up to join in February.

I haven't read the rest of the series, but this book sounds really interesting.

I just bought this book on Audible and going to listen to it as soon as I'm done with the book that I have now. I love all Kelley Armstrong's books. However, this series and the Cainsville ones are two of my very favorite series of all time.

Frances you can definitely join in though you will get more out of the book if you read the previous books in this series.

I started today. Read through chapter 14. It’s good to be back in Rockton! The book started off running. (view spoiler)[ Finding the baby was so worrisome! It was funny, though, how Casey and Dalton were so out of their depth with the baby. LOL I do wonder if they will end up keeping the baby. It sounds like the real parents may not be good people. Or will they take in the mother if she was abducted or unwillingly a part of that group? (hide spoiler)]

Great! My son was home for a long weekend and went back to college this afternoon so it was nice to see and spend time with him.

I finished chapter 7 and I 'm also happy to be back in Rockton.

(view spoiler)[ I 'm also wondering if Casey and Eric are going to keep this baby. I love reading about Sport and Raoul, Casey's relationship with her sister and how they are surviving in the Yukon- because let's face it, their way of living is totally different than ours.
Yes, I had to chuckle when Casey left rather quickly and passed off the diaper learning lesson to Eric. (hide spoiler)]

I'll be reading more to catch up and don't mind if you read more- I likely will too.

My internet died and I finished the book! (I hate not having internet.) I'm hoping that I can keep up with the discussions, but it's still not fixed, and I don't have any idea when it will be fixed. goodreads on my phone is so frustrating!

I am through chapter 28 now. A lot has happened! (view spoiler)[ Maryann’s story was horrible! We don’t know a lot about the hostils. So it is interesting to learn more about them and the settlers.

Jen is great, She’s so gruff but takes care of the baby. And Cypher did get a night with her. LOL

I do wonder if we will find out the truth about Dalton’s parents. Were they not the best parents or was that just an excuse for the Dalton’s to take Eric in?

I finished chapter 28.
(view spoiler)[ Seems like Eric was getting to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe the Daltons stole him. I hope we find out the answers in this book.

I think they will keep the baby and everyone pitches in to help but then that might totally change the direction of this series and right now it’s definitely working for Armstrong. It seems like both Casey and Eric wouldn’t mind having a baby.

I also enjoyed MaryAnne’s story. I guess after a while you do whatever to survive. Not an experience I’d want to live.

I finished. And I so agree I’m happy I don’t live anywhere near a place like Rockton. (view spoiler)[ I was surprised at who Abby’s parents were. And in the end, the baby went back to loving parents. So that was good.

But so much drama! Between Lane and Abby’s parents. It was a bit much by the end. But it was an exciting story. That kept me guessing.

I think eventually Casey and Dalton should be parents. Maybe Dalton will be dealing with his parental issues in the next book? (hide spoiler)]

Fixed, and hopefully resolved. My modem kept cycling so when we did lose service it wouldn’t connect to my network.

I’m also finished. Another great book in the series. I really enjoyed it.
(view spoiler)[ I’m actually happy that Casey and Eric didn’t keep the baby and she was able to be reunited with her loving parents. I think that would take the series in a different direction that I’m not ready for it to take yet. I enjoy Casey figuring out the murder mysteries.

It sure did turn complicated. I couldn’t figure out what happened until the end. I also really enjoyed the interactions with First and Second Settlements. I think Armstrong opened up that option for future books.

I think we are definitely going to learn more about Eric’s parents( both sets) in upcoming books. (hide spoiler)]

I am definitely up for the March buddy reads! Do you have a request for them at your library? I think you said you may use a gift card for one? I have a request in at my library. I requested months ago so hopefully I get them first.
