Nice selections. My most enjoyed, of the ones I've read are, Ruth, Country of Pointed Furs, Age of Innocence, Rebecca, Lonely Hunter, East of Eden, and Madding Crowd. If I was a re-reader, I'd gladly start any of these tomorrow. Enjoy!!

I'm glad to see your Quest for Women, Elena. You've a number of my favorite works and authors on your list (Villette, Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Undset, Daniel Deronda), so I hope they go well for you.

Sue K H (sky_bluez) | 3694 comments Great List Elena! East of Eden is one of my very favorite books and I also loved Age of Innocence, Rebbecca and The Brothers Karamozov.

I may get to The Talented Mr. Ripley this year. It's one of my 50's choices too

Kathleen | 5458 comments I'm especially glad you're reading Age of Innocence, and Song of Solomon too, but you have created a great list of superb classics, Elena. Hope you enjoy them all!

message 9: by Brina (new)

Brina When We Were Orphans Sounds fascinating, Elena. You have some interesting choices. As I told Kathleen in a different post, with everyone’s selections we have enough on our tbrs to last years. Have fun.

Ila | 710 comments Age of Innocence is a great favourite with me. Its always a good idea to read Balzac and Eugenie Grandet was one of his best. Enjoy your challenge!

Nine Coaches Waiting--my secret passion is Mary Stewart and this one is so much fun.

I totally agree that The Age of Innocence is fantastic. Your list should bring you a lot of reading joy. Now I have to check out the Balzac.
