I hate that drive-in theaters have almost entirely died out...

in my dad's town of Crescent City there is an ancient Drive In Theatre that still is open in the summer time. I'm totally going this summer. Drive Ins Rock!!! There was one south of Petaluma when I was a kid that used to play porno movies. The screen was facing the freeway and you could totally see the movie as you drove by!! I don't know how many accidents that caused, but I'm sure dozens of people met their end as a result of drive in porno.
There was one like that in San Diego too!I am surprised that it did not cause any traffic accidents.
Hey i hate that too because the fact that drive-in theaters have died out i have never in my life been to a drive-in theater(but i have always wanted to go to one).
We had two here, one was destroyed by a tornado a few years back and they didn't rebuild it. They used to play XXX features on certain nights. Ah the good ole days....The one is still up and running and I imagine always will be since people pack in there each night of the Summer. At our lake we have a double drive-in. You can still find them here and there dotted across Ohio and Michigan.
We have one up here, and I have to say that it is always jammed pack in the summer. 3 screens, standard dilapidated snack bar, an area to throw frisbies and run with dogs... and they even had people wash your windsheild upon entering
gotta love it.
except people who raise their stupid hatchbacks during the film. Ugh.
I remember before my parents divorced they took me to see Disney's Peter Pan at the drive-in. Ah, memories.
same here, cartoonist, same here.although technically, cincinnati has a drive in theatre, and i think it's still open during the summer, but it only shows the LAMEST movies ever, and has never ACTUALLY been open ever since i first drove by it probably 9 years ago. i think by now it must have gone the way of all our former second run theatres as well... oh, dollar movie days, how i miss you.
i really miss them, why did they have to go and become flea markets? where i grew up we could see the screen from my cousin's roof and i recall for a short time being able to tune the am radio into the sounds of the films. otherwise we would watch and lip read. later, we created a sneak in through the fence and did some underage drinking and make outs there. sigh.
Well you could start a new trend. Many of them have been turned into Flea markets... so Umm, how many people do you know "got it on" at the flea market... KD you know what to do. Make some history.
I had sex in a Karmann Ghia at a drive in theatre when I was 15. Let me tell you, the stick shift in one of those things is a tricky thing to navigate.
DP... DP.... hmmmm..... I'm sorry... ???? (don't bother being delicate with me Nick... I don't offend easily)

I miss sneaking my dog in under a blanket in the backseat. She was very well behaved and either slept or chilled out next to me but it gave it that unique, homey feel.
