50.1 - Delicious Dee's Task: Diversify Your Reading
Book 1: I read Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert (373p). As noted in the GR description, the heroine Chloe is chronically ill; this review at NPR further clarifies that she has fibromyalgia and chronic pain syndromes. Category 6: Physical disability. Talia is a new author to me.
Book 2: I read Real Life by Brandon Taylor (336p). Brandon's GR bio is pretty brief so here's the profile in the NYT that specifically notes he is Black and gay. Category 1: Person of Color and Category 3: LGBTQIA+. Brandon is a new author to me.
Book 3: I read Children of the Land by Marcelo Hernandez Castillo (384p), which is about the author's experience as an undocumented immigrant as noted on the GR blurb. Category 2: Refugee/Immigrant. Marcelo is a new author to me.
373p + 336p + 384p = 1093
(Technically, all three authors are new to me, I just realized that.)
