message 74: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments Alright Sunshine! We don't have much in common, so I tried to stick with contemp, since that's what you seem to enjoy the most. I stuck a few others in there as well :)

1. Out With the Old:
Christmas Wishes and The Vincent Boys are both from your preferred shelf. Also, Northern Exposure and Infatuation are both a couple of old favorites of mine.

2. In With the New:
Sweet Filthy Boy is from your shelf and that title. *drools* I just... really love that title. The Mighty Storm from your TBR has a super hot cover! Mind Games is from my shelves and I love, love this UF series! I also picked The Cranberry Hush is one of my favorite M/M YA reads. It's kind of slow, quiet and bittersweet, but a really good story.

3. Celebrate the New Year With Others:
Easy and Damaged are both from your shelf. A Hunger Like No Other and About Last Night are from my shelves.

4. Snuggle up with your pillow and hit the sack early:
Be Mine For Christmas and Mistletoe in Manhattan are both holiday shorties from your shelf. Cards On The Table is M/M and Josh Lanyon is one of my favorite authors. BTW I Love You is just super duper cute and free!

I hope you fine one (or more) to enjoy this month :)

Elke (ejurca) | 1810 comments I will do repicks too Fran....if needed!

message 77: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31732 comments OK Kathy, here we go! It was tough to pick new stuff for you because I kept seeing books on your shelves that I wanted to pick! So some of the new is new-to-you authors you have on your shelves, but haven't read yet. And I did a terrible job of narrowing down the list so you have LOTS to choose from. =)

Out With the Old:
TBR: Long Hard Ride by Lorelei James - not my favorite in the series but I love the McKays! or Midnight Man by Lisa Marie Rice - classic LMR, alpha hero who falls hard (instantly of course)
NEW: The Madness Of Lord Ian MacKenzie by Jennifer Ashley - wonderful story and really good in audio!

In With the New:
TBR: Keep Me Safe by Maya Banks - this one looks good to me too!
NEW: Fix You or Come Monday by Mari Carr - she is one of my favorite authors, she does the shorter books so well I always look for one of hers when I want something quick and still really good! Or Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey - I adore the Kowalski family and this is the beginning of their stories, lots of laughs and sweet too! Or any of her holiday shorter stories would work, the new one this year is Her Holiday Man - I plan to read this one in December, buddy read?

Celebrate the New Year With Others:
TBR: Hard as You Can by Laura Kaye - even better than the first one if you can believe that! Or Down London Road by Samantha Young - her writing amazes me and this is another great one! Or Heaven Can't Wait by Pamela Clare - lighter than the other I-Team stories, this one is fun and would be great for a holiday read! You could go with Hard Evidence too though, this one is excellent in audio. Another PC option is Surrender - amazing trilogy and this is a great beginning! Also excellent in audio!!
NEW: Something About You by Julie James - her books never let me down! Or Tangled by Emma Chase - so much fun! Wallbanger by Alice Clayton - lots of laughs and wonderful in audio too!

Snuggle Up With Your Pillow:
TBR: Mistletoe in Manhattan by Talli Roland - who can resist holiday stories! Or A Touch of Midnight by Lara Adrian - I couldn't find a place to recommend Kiss of Crimson, but I found this one! Or Colton Manor by Francene Carroll - I have this on my list for December because I need a U heroine to finish the A to Z challenge, buddy read maybe?
NEW: Do Over by Mari Carr - I loved this! Or Shaken by Dee Tenorio - so much emotion packed into such a wonderful short story! Or Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye - this one started my love of Laura Kaye, so good! Or a fun one 10 Ways To Steal Your Lover by Dee Tenorio - a lighter one, but still sweet!

I hope you like your picks! Happy Reading!!

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments somehow, i knew that i would get you, dee, and i was all intimidated, but you don't have that many books, so i was all right. i mostly chose books from your "to read 2014" and your "arcs to review" shelves; i hope that's all right.

out with the old
i took this 2 ways; books that had been on shelves the longest and books that were published several years ago.

older title on shelf
Hounding the Pavement (tbr)
The Eight (published 1990) (tbr)

oldies i loved
Without Honor (published 1994) (new)
The Magicians (new)

and, because i know that people don't always have every book they've ever read on their shelves, I've got a couple of extra recs, just in case you've read some of my new recommendations. Nine Coaches Waiting, One Time I Saw Morning Come Home, The Spymaster's Lady, Reflex, Vanish with the Rose

in with the new

new release
Designed for Love (tbr)
Lead (new) my favourite of the series; doesn't have to be read in order

new author
Ivan (tbr) as far as i could tell, you haven't read anything by this author
Stories Beneath Our Skin (new)

celebrate the new year

sexy cover
Breathe You In (tbr)
Archer's Voice (new)

cover with an embrace
Reckless (tbr)
Not Quite a Husband (new) or Surrender A Dream (new)

snuggle up with a pillow and hit the sack early
ok, ok, i went a little overboard on this one.

shorter title from your shelves
Superhero
Do Over
Big Boy
My Summer of Wes

new to you shortie
Taboo
Life After Joe
Game On
Daniel and the Angel

enjoy! let me know if you need repicks.

Hounding the Pavement (Dog Walker Mysteries, #1) by Judi McCoy The Eight (The Eight #1) by Katherine Neville Without Honor by Elizabeth Stuart The Magicians (The Magicians, #1) by Lev Grossman Designed for Love (Texas Nights, #4) by Kelsey Browning Lead (Stage Dive, #3) by Kylie Scott Ivan (Her Russian Protector, #1) by Roxie Rivera Stories Beneath Our Skin by Veronica Sloane Breathe You In (Sweet Torment, #1) by Joya Ryan Archer's Voice (A Sign of Love) by Mia Sheridan Reckless (Forever, #1) by Priscilla West Not Quite a Husband by Sherry Thomas Surrender A Dream by Jill Barnett Superhero by Eli Easton Do Over by Mari Carr Big Boy by Ruthie Knox My Summer of Wes (Wes & Mal, #1) by Missy Welsh Taboo by Roxy Queen Life After Joe by Harper Fox Game On (Game On, #1) by Olley White Daniel and the Angel (Three Sisters Trilogy, #1) by Jill Barnett

message 86: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Hi Elke!

I had fun browsing your shelves, saw lots of stuff that I loved, and also some that were unfamiliar but looked very interesting. Since I'm terrible at narrowing down lists, you ended up with 2 from your TBR and 2 New to You for each rule...I hope you enjoy what I came up with for you!

1.Out With The Old:
TBR: Drums of Autumn – LOVE this series! OR Fairytale Come Alive – I'm kind of hit and miss with Kristen Ashley, but when she's good she's very good.
New: Fatal Affair - This came out a few years ago, but I just recently discovered it, and have really enjoyed the first few books. OR Naked in Death – I was surprised that you've never tried this series, considering how much Nora Roberts you have on your shelves...one of my all-time favorite series.

2.In With The New:
TBR: Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover OR Mai Tai'd Up – I have both of these on my list for December...maybe a buddy read if we can work out the timing?
New: Exclusively Yours – Sweet and very funny, I love this series! OR Slave to Sensation - another series that I'm kind of surprised you haven't tried, considering how much PNR/Sci-Fi you have on your shelves.

3.Celebrate the New Year with Others:
TBR: Broken Open OR Darkness Awakened – How about a sexy embrace on both covers...can't beat that! :D
New: Hard as It Gets OR Forgotten Sins – The first one has a semi-embrace, but both are most definitely sexy!

4.Snuggle up with your pillow and hit the sack early:
TBR: Private Property OR Love Me – I'm not familiar with either of these, but they were on your preferred shelf and definitely short...
New: Shaken OR Do Over – Two of my favorite short but very emotional books, I've probably recommended these as often as (or more often than) just about any other books.

Happy Reading!

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1512 comments Hi Preethi,

We had lots of books in common so I really hope you like your picks. I had fun adding to your mythology collection. Happy Reading!

1.Out With The Old: I really enjoyed the humor in The Second Summoning by Tanya Huff and for something a bit different 1st to Die by James Patterson. For something new to you that is still a bit older there is Divine By Mistake by P.C. Cast where the heroine switches places with a goddess. Or an oldie but goodie by Kay Hooper is The Wizard of Seattle which has time travel back to Atlantis.

The Second Summoning (Keeper Chronicles, #2) by Tanya Huff 1st to Die (Women's Murder Club, #1) by James Patterson Divine By Mistake (Partholon, #1) by P.C. Cast The Wizard of Seattle by Kay Hooper

2.In With The New: ok these are all new to you and mythology based, but I'll make it up as the next category will all be from your TBR. First up is Gods Behaving Badly by Marie Phillips which has the Greek gods trying to live as normal people in London. Next is Dark Descendant by Jenna Black, where Nikki finds out she is a descendant of Artemis and there are a couple groups fighting over her joining up with them. Finally we have Red Hot Fury by Kasey MacKenzie where the heroine is a fury from greek mythology.

Gods Behaving Badly by Marie Phillips Dark Descendant (Nikki Glass, #1) by Jenna Black Red Hot Fury (Shades of Fury, #1) by Kasey MacKenzie

3.Celebrate the New Year with Others: All these are from your TBR. Burn for Me, I love Ilona Andrews and plan to start this book soon. Amaryllis is by my favorite author, Jayne Ann Krentz. It is set on a different planet where humans have abilities. I love this series. Finders Keepers by Linnea Sinclair looks intriguing.

Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy, #1) by Ilona Andrews Amaryllis (St. Helen's, #1) by Jayne Castle Finders Keepers by Linnea Sinclair

4.Snuggle up with your pillow and hit the sack early From your TBR we have Spartan Frost by Jennifer Estep (my favorite YA series) or The Dark Discovery of Jack Dandy by Kady Cross sounds interesting. Pamela Su (thebluebaroness) | 194 comments Hi Runell!

Here are my picks for you. I hope I did this right! :D

1.Out With The Old
OLD TBR: Spook Squad (Why haven't you read this yet?! *grin*)
FAVE OLDIE (NEW): Latakia (No sex in this just fyi, but I enjoyed the story a lot)

2.In With The New
NEW RELEASE (TBR): Heart (Published less than a month ago. I am also eager to read this.)
NEW AUTHOR: J.C. Lillis - How to Repair a Mechanical Heart (Cute young love story. Not quite your usual style, I think, but heck, why not something completely different for a change!)

3.Celebrate the New Year with Others
EMBRACE (TBR): Stepbrother Dearest
SEXY (TBR): Moon Called (This was a good read)
SEXY (NEW): Inheritance (This book starts in the middle which some people find confusing. It helps to read the short stories first before this book. A really good series though!)

4.Snuggle up with your pillow and hit the sack early
TBR: Straight Boy
NEW: Friction (a bit of a cheat, but in case you'd rather not read #3 new, then you can try this first)

Karen...

Thanks so much for the awesome picks!! I for sure will read Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover since I am getting it from the library! If you want to do a buddy read let me know!!

I will probably get to some of my other TBR's but with the holidays approaching it might be hard.

I know what you mean about Slave to Sensation, I was actually going to start it in 2015....maybe I will start it next month!!

I almost didn't recommend it because she's the author for next year, but then I figured I'd at least get it on your radar anyway. If you want to wait until January, though, I get that, especially since December has a tendency to be so busy!

A buddy read of Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover sounds good - will you be getting the book as soon as it's released? If so, and you want to start it right at the beginning of the month, that works for me. If not, we'll have to figure out a time once you have the book. I didn't get on the library wait list soon enough, so I'm buying this one and can be flexible. We may have others that want to join too, since it's a new release...

Yea I saw that she is next years author...which is why I was going to start next year. But I will start next month. I needed the push, I can continue the series next year!! ;)

I am #1 on the list at the library and it comes out tomorrow so as soon as I get it (which will probably be this week) I will let you know. But will be shooting to start beginning of the month!
