Sara (punkerfairy) | 9 comments SO it may be a graphic novel, or not, my memory isnt clear...
it's NOT animorphs or captain planet

four children, one white kid named Bud who can transform into mountain lion, one girl who can turn into a dolphin, another boy who can turn into a hawk and i cant recall the last

there is a theme of 'save the environment'
there is a volcano
a treehouse.....

help!

message 4: by Sara (new)

Sara (punkerfairy) | 9 comments Early 90s?
Definitely a kids book, heavily illustrated

Joseph (bluemanticore) | 433 comments You're not thinking Animorphs by Katherine Applegate, are you?

message 6: by Sara (new)

Sara (punkerfairy) | 9 comments It's obscure, and is a graphic novel and is for kids and was likely published in the early 90s

It's environmental (a bit heavy handed) and not a series to my knowledge.

the first scene has someone littering, throwing a can from a car and a main character bemoaning the state of the world

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Do you remember the illustration style? Colorful, realistic, cartoony, full-page, etc?

What time period/location did the story take place?
Anything about the cover?

message 8: by Sara (new)

Sara (punkerfairy) | 9 comments sadly i remember nothing about the cover.
very colorful, fairly realistic, full page comic style I believe

Bud disapears for a while and the rest of the gang is worried, but then he reappears and surprises everyone in their treehouse

the volcano doesnt explode because they all work together

the blond girl maybe skateboards? (i think shes the one who turns into a dolphin)

it was set in a modern (ie. 1990s) world

I am looking for the exact same graphic novel and have been for a long time. At this point most of what I remember might not be very accurate but I think the young woman who turns into a dolphin was named Piper, there was a thing that happened in a Bay which may have been part of the title like 'trouble in dolphin bay' because there were other dolphins doing things. Or none of that is accurate.

btw, everything mentioned by Sara so far here is completely accurate so it is the same exact graphic novel without a doubt

fingers crossed, this has been the longest search ever, i even entertained the idea of just making the g. novels again to the best of my memory in hopes that i would get sued but thus finally finding them

Was the book hardcover or paperback? About how many pages? Part of a series?
Did you get this from your school, library, comic book store, etc?
Do you remember any villains?
Was stopping the volcano from erupting the main conflict?

message 11: by M.Ella (new)

M.Ella | 7 comments Like Sara said, it was a graphic novel, and the other descriptions she posted so far are accurate as far as i remember.

For some reason I keep remembering it being a part of something else, perhaps a board game, a graphic novel off shoot of something. I was (am) really into environmental stuff at that time so I even searched along the lines that it was a Sierra Club/Earth First/etc.. type special edition but I've had no luck.

M.Ella | 7 comments Did it come from one of those science stores possibly?

message 14: by M.Ella (new)

M.Ella | 7 comments thank you so much, i don't remember it being a cartoon at all and it looks like it was also a board game and the comic book came with it

Lisa (med0ra) | 433 comments You're welcome. I suspected Terratopia was right but wanted proof of the characters and that You Tube video was the only place I found it. Now hope Sara the OP checks in.
