Not only was it set in Indonesia, but several characters arguably died from a broken heart, or at least from their romantic entanglements.
13. Encantado - Read a book set in South America or about any type of metamorphosis.

Set in Peru.
15. Merfolk - Read a book that features a mermaid or takes place at sea.

Most of the characters are merfolk ... and the ones that aren't spend a good portion of the story on the sea.
