The book I am looking for starts off, where this girl doesn't know that she is a witch, she's walking at school where she accidentally gets hit by a car. After that she discovers her mom is gone missing, she describes her mum as curvy, redhead and beautiful. After her mother goes missing, she finds out that she is a witch, her mother has been stunting her powers from coming and has slipped her hair dye in her shampoo, so that she isn't a red head anymore. The potion also stunts her physical growth so she soon begins looking like a " woman" and boys begin to notice her. She finds out there is a prophecy about a redhead being born just as a comet passes, and how she will ride a rainbow... She enters into different realm to save her mother.

I've tried typing the plot into Google in every conceivable way, and zilch.

It was YA, I think the cover was purple with a full moon in the background, but I'm not sure. I read it around 2009/2010
