"From Barnes & Noble
The much-postponed, feverishly-awaited Fever installment is here and it doesn't disappoint. With the Halloween destruction of Dublin's protective wall, lusting immortal Fae have transformed the city into a festering nest of competing throngs. In this chaos, the past victories of sidhe-seer MacKayla Lane mean almost nothing and in her search for allies, one stands high: powerful, complicated immortal Jericho Barrons. Another romance triumph for Karen Marie Moning." It's a Mac party, it looks like.

KMM: "Dani 'has' another book, she's in BURNED. As everyone will soon see and can stop projecting what dastardly things I may or may not have done-"
Maybe Dani and Ryodan will have side story to Mac and Barrons. I could deal with that.

I was trying to have hope recently. Squashed. Lol.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting your love for Dani, but it sort of seems like you don't even like Mac or Barrons at all. And if that is correct and you don't like Mac/Barrons, why have you stuck with the series?
Please don't read those questions in a hostile way.. I know tone can't be accurately portrayed over the internet and I don't want anyone to think I'm being negative. I am honestly just curious. Mainly because I am so completely ecstatic to get to return to the Fever World at all. lol. :)

I honestly don't know if I would hate Burned if there is not enough of Dani's POV. She is my favorite so I might be disappointed but I'm going to read this and take whatever comes with it :)
As for my like/dislike for Mac or Barrons. For me, I never did care for Mac. Not my favorite heroine. But you couldn't tell me jack about Barrons. I like him. There was something about him. Though he was rough on her, I liked him. I stuck with the series not just for him but for the world building and storyline. KMM is awesome! She created a world with so much drama, flare and intrigue. It sucked me in...well after I read/listen to the first book for the second time. Yep, I hated it at first. But someone told me to keep with it and they were right.
I didn't read Iced right away. In fact, I thought she ended the series perfectly and had no intentions of reading Iced. I liked Dani before but not enough to break my neck over it. Long story short, when I finally got to her book, I was really amazed at how honest and real her character was portrayed. I thought that her interactions with Ryo spoke in volumes compared to Mac/Barrons. I got so much in their heated dialogue than in previous books. So they got me caught up.
I'm excited to get back into he world. I don't know what to expect. I want to know some of the answers to my questions.

Before I read Iced, I liked Mac, but she sounded a lot like a thousand other Urban Fantasy heroines out there, so no huge impression. I really really loved Barrons. He is powerful, old-world, but is sarcastic and snarky as heck. I still love him now, but Ryodan has topped the list for me after Iced, and Dani for sure beats Mac in my mind.
I love the Fever World as a whole, but it's because I have such strong emotions and opinions about Dani/Ryodan that I often let their discussions overshadow other aspects of the debate. Sorry about that! I can't wait to go back to the Fever World either, and of course, I'd want my favorites to appear on page as much as they can, for obvious reason, you know? :))

More importantly her story is over. And Dani is by far the more fascinating character despite her language.

So eloquently put! Agreed!

Oh no! Sorry I didn't mean to be a downer! The book will be great, I am sure. Just not what I was hoping for in the Dani/Ryo dept. KMM will still deliver a great novel. Just not Dani-centric like she originally promised.

I bet I will still very much enjoy it. I will try to hold back my sadness if Dani is just a background character and just enjoy Burned for what it is. I am still kind of bitter though, that KMM said Dani would have 3 books then went back on her word based on criticisms of Iced from people who didn't like the switch from Mac to Dani. But I still can't wait read Burned.

But Dani and Ryodan- well, they are different because they have such a long journey a head of them before they can be together. I am so curious about them because they could be the perfect couple in the future. Ryodan is a bit softer, at least towards Dani. He has a sense of humour and I just can't put my finger on it- but I like the Ryodan character a lot more that the Barrons character. And it's not fair to build up a such a great story in Iced without following it through!
Inanda: I hope you are right :)

I'm always interested in what how people perceive the characters. So differently. The different views are great.

Cookie, you mention that Mac is just like thousands of other UF heroines... I think that may be one reason I liked Mac more than I think you all did, this was my very first UF series! So I haven't had the chance to get burned-out on the sameness so many series have.
And don't apologize for talking about Dani/Ryo a lot! I love that you all are so passionate about them and the series in general! :)
I was a lot like you Samantha, I thought KMM ended the series well, but I also knew there was so much more I wanted to know about. That is why I was SO excited when Iced came out. I read Iced the day it was released, all in one day. That was the silver lining to being home from work sick. lol.
I love the world KMM has built and I think I would be happy no matter who's POV was telling about it!

That's awesome and lucky for you, since you will enjoy it 100%!!! :)
Yeah, I didn't "love" Mac in the first Fever book (she annoyed me a bit) but grew to love her in the following books. I do, however, think she is a pretty unique character. Yes, there are lots of other kick-butt urban fantasy heroines, but I thought that KMM put a lot of time and effort into making Mac feel like a real person. All the internal dialog and her struggle with the world make her feel very "real" unlike some of the snarky all-powerful heroines out there. And she was so helpless a lot of the time. Which is very different than some of the other heroines. But I think I could see what Cookie means :)
I also didn't love Dani in the Fever series. I thought, Ugh, Iced is about Dani? NooOO! but when I read Iced I fell in love with Dani and just how plain amazing she is. And funny. I loved that Iced had all these laugh-out-loud moments because Dani is just plain hilarious. And heart-breaking. She pulls on my heartstrings even more than Mac.

That description didn't help. What did it say. I thought Mac said it was huge with the fur, etc. LOL. I'm no help here.

I am also puzzled over why Ryodan sent Lor out for Dani instead of going himself when she was hurt the second time. I don't think it is because Ryodan needs to have sex with her, and can't, and therefore sent Lor. That would be weird. It has to be something else that we don't know yet.
I hope that Jo doesn't die. How will there be any intrigues if she isn't the one making them? I hope she starts a hell for Ryodan. That would be great.
Regarding the teasers we have gotten; none of them mention Kat, Dancer, Cruce or Jo either and they had a huge part in Iced. So either KMM is keeping us in the dark or their story isn't important at all in Burned. And see, I don't believe that. I think that we have gotten too little to determine what the story of Burned will be. All we know is that Mac will have a larger part. And that's about it.

Maybe we are reading too much into it. :)
