Lol. I'm grateful she thinks he brings intrigue. Leaves me slightly hopeful.

Lol! Thanks Winnie! Now you know the extent of my desperation (so surprised I haven't asked J.R. Ward too *gasps*), but who cares? X)
Barnes and Noble released their own review for Burned:"From Barnes & Noble
The much-postponed, feverishly-awaited Fever installment is here and it doesn't disappoint. With the Halloween destruction of Dublin's protective wall, lusting immortal Fae have transformed the city into a festering nest of competing throngs. In this chaos, the past victories of sidhe-seer MacKayla Lane mean almost nothing and in her search for allies, one stands high: powerful, complicated immortal Jericho Barrons. Another romance triumph for Karen Marie Moning." It's a Mac party, it looks like.
KMM just wrote on facebook to this komment: "Love it and you know I'm taking two days off to read Burned. I'm curious about Dani though..... I HOPE she'll have another book."KMM: "Dani 'has' another book, she's in BURNED. As everyone will soon see and can stop projecting what dastardly things I may or may not have done-"
Maybe Dani and Ryodan will have side story to Mac and Barrons. I could deal with that.
Yeah true. I mean, she can't expect us not to "project dastardly things" when we never see any mention or teaser of her.
It seems pretty clear to me that Dani will take a back seat in Burned. Such a disappointment. There will be so much going on, but hopefully the scenes we do get of Dani and Ryo will still be satisfying.
Little Feather wrote: "It seems pretty clear to me that Dani will take a back seat in Burned. Such a disappointment. There will be so much going on, but hopefully the scenes we do get of Dani and Ryo will still be satisf..."I was trying to have hope recently. Squashed. Lol.
I'm curious... since you all are so involved in the Dani/Ryo part of the story, are you going to hate Burned if it doesn't deliver enough of their POV's for your taste? Maybe I'm misinterpreting your love for Dani, but it sort of seems like you don't even like Mac or Barrons at all. And if that is correct and you don't like Mac/Barrons, why have you stuck with the series?
Please don't read those questions in a hostile way.. I know tone can't be accurately portrayed over the internet and I don't want anyone to think I'm being negative. I am honestly just curious. Mainly because I am so completely ecstatic to get to return to the Fever World at all. lol. :)
LOL! I don't even see your question as hostile. Just curious. So let me answer them as I see it.I honestly don't know if I would hate Burned if there is not enough of Dani's POV. She is my favorite so I might be disappointed but I'm going to read this and take whatever comes with it :)
As for my like/dislike for Mac or Barrons. For me, I never did care for Mac. Not my favorite heroine. But you couldn't tell me jack about Barrons. I like him. There was something about him. Though he was rough on her, I liked him. I stuck with the series not just for him but for the world building and storyline. KMM is awesome! She created a world with so much drama, flare and intrigue. It sucked me in...well after I read/listen to the first book for the second time. Yep, I hated it at first. But someone told me to keep with it and they were right.
I didn't read Iced right away. In fact, I thought she ended the series perfectly and had no intentions of reading Iced. I liked Dani before but not enough to break my neck over it. Long story short, when I finally got to her book, I was really amazed at how honest and real her character was portrayed. I thought that her interactions with Ryo spoke in volumes compared to Mac/Barrons. I got so much in their heated dialogue than in previous books. So they got me caught up.
I'm excited to get back into he world. I don't know what to expect. I want to know some of the answers to my questions.
Good answer Sam, lol. and I didn't see your question as hostile either KimeyDiann! Before I read Iced, I liked Mac, but she sounded a lot like a thousand other Urban Fantasy heroines out there, so no huge impression. I really really loved Barrons. He is powerful, old-world, but is sarcastic and snarky as heck. I still love him now, but Ryodan has topped the list for me after Iced, and Dani for sure beats Mac in my mind.
I love the Fever World as a whole, but it's because I have such strong emotions and opinions about Dani/Ryodan that I often let their discussions overshadow other aspects of the debate. Sorry about that! I can't wait to go back to the Fever World either, and of course, I'd want my favorites to appear on page as much as they can, for obvious reason, you know? :))
I would be disappointed if it was more Mac and Barron's. I never cared for her and don't get why she is so powerful. Take away the book and she is just meh. More importantly her story is over. And Dani is by far the more fascinating character despite her language.
Kyra wrote: "More importantly her story is over. And Dani is by far the more fascinating character despite her language." So eloquently put! Agreed!

Oh no! Sorry I didn't mean to be a downer! The book will be great, I am sure. Just not what I was hoping for in the Dani/Ryo dept. KMM will still deliver a great novel. Just not Dani-centric like she originally promised.
KimeyDiann wrote: "I'm curious... since you all are so involved in the Dani/Ryo part of the story, are you going to hate Burned if it doesn't deliver enough of their POV's for your taste?"
I bet I will still very much enjoy it. I will try to hold back my sadness if Dani is just a background character and just enjoy Burned for what it is. I am still kind of bitter though, that KMM said Dani would have 3 books then went back on her word based on criticisms of Iced from people who didn't like the switch from Mac to Dani. But I still can't wait read Burned.
We'll done everyone the Q&A! I love the fever series but I do think there is Mac girls and Dani girls in this world that is earth! I am a Dani girl in my blood and marrowbone through and through. So yes I will read Burned for Dani and the love off my life Ryodan ha he ha! Even if I am not a Mac girl I can still enjoy her story but I don't think she is all that, just like the Mac girls don't think Dani is all that! This is human nature. I still think KMM is blindsiding us with all the Mac stuff and that we will get enough Dani and Ryodan in Burned!!!
I loved Mac because I love kick-ass-heroines that don't take crap from men. Barrons was too locked-up for my taste as a hero, but it worked really good- and the pair of them are good together. But Dani and Ryodan- well, they are different because they have such a long journey a head of them before they can be together. I am so curious about them because they could be the perfect couple in the future. Ryodan is a bit softer, at least towards Dani. He has a sense of humour and I just can't put my finger on it- but I like the Ryodan character a lot more that the Barrons character. And it's not fair to build up a such a great story in Iced without following it through!
Inanda: I hope you are right :)
Love your comments Winnie and Inanda.I'm always interested in what how people perceive the characters. So differently. The different views are great.
Thanks for all of the great answers! I'm glad no one took the question negatively. Things can sometimes escalate so quickly in forums because of misunderstanding a post's tone.Cookie, you mention that Mac is just like thousands of other UF heroines... I think that may be one reason I liked Mac more than I think you all did, this was my very first UF series! So I haven't had the chance to get burned-out on the sameness so many series have.
And don't apologize for talking about Dani/Ryo a lot! I love that you all are so passionate about them and the series in general! :)
I was a lot like you Samantha, I thought KMM ended the series well, but I also knew there was so much more I wanted to know about. That is why I was SO excited when Iced came out. I read Iced the day it was released, all in one day. That was the silver lining to being home from work sick. lol.
I love the world KMM has built and I think I would be happy no matter who's POV was telling about it!
KimeyDiann wrote: "I love the world KMM has built and I think I would be happy no matter who's POV was telling about it! "That's awesome and lucky for you, since you will enjoy it 100%!!! :)
Yeah, I didn't "love" Mac in the first Fever book (she annoyed me a bit) but grew to love her in the following books. I do, however, think she is a pretty unique character. Yes, there are lots of other kick-butt urban fantasy heroines, but I thought that KMM put a lot of time and effort into making Mac feel like a real person. All the internal dialog and her struggle with the world make her feel very "real" unlike some of the snarky all-powerful heroines out there. And she was so helpless a lot of the time. Which is very different than some of the other heroines. But I think I could see what Cookie means :)
I also didn't love Dani in the Fever series. I thought, Ugh, Iced is about Dani? NooOO! but when I read Iced I fell in love with Dani and just how plain amazing she is. And funny. I loved that Iced had all these laugh-out-loud moments because Dani is just plain hilarious. And heart-breaking. She pulls on my heartstrings even more than Mac.
Yippee this is fantastic news!! We just have to wait 8 months then we can read the next book. I hope KMM stays with this date?? Otherwise it is Burned all over again.
This is off topic, again, but does anyone know what the beast form of the Nine looks like? I've always thought they resembled dragons, but some said they looked feline? Is it something in between or completely different? I'm very bothered with the fact that I can't imagine them accurately.
Lolol. I can hear your absolute disinterest in Mac's portion Fever series here xD. I think Dreamfever. Those descriptions did not help, but oh well.
No! LOL! I had a deep interest by then. Remember, I was gaga over Barrons. I didn't go back to them though so I couldn't remember the order. That description didn't help. What did it say. I thought Mac said it was huge with the fur, etc. LOL. I'm no help here.
Do any of you remember the chapter where Barons POV in Shadofever!! He says there that he feels Mac emotions? It is chapter 8 of part 1!! This explains a lot about Dani and Ryodan!
Oh yes. I remember that. Well it explains that he would know when she is distressed and what she is feeling. OMG! Can you imagine as she is coming into her hormones and emotions? She is feeling things and he will be able to sense it. How can you hide your emotions like that?
Exactly and it was strange to me in Iced!! After Dani nearly dies in the church. Ryodan starts to let Lor be in charge of her! I think it is also the first time he had sex with Jo that night? There is a scene in Shadowfever where Mac nearly dies and Barron's tells her he needs to F her because he saw her died ? I think this explains a lot of Ryodan reaction to Dani and his actions!
Oh yeah! I agree. He was shaking trying to pour her a drink. It messed with him bad. Maybe he was realizing he cared. I don't know. I always wanted to know what was going on in his head at times. The looks and all. I couldn't get a read on him because Dani's views were always skewed. She didn't know. Didn't try to know either. I can't wait until she is an adult and can better explain stuff or Mac peeps stuff and let us know.
Oh...I remember in one of the other books when Dani was surrounded by his men and Mac & Ryodan was talking while observing and he basically let her know that he had his eye on Dani and Mac got a pass from him because of her. I was like WTF. Then when I read Iced it was like oh snap! Dude ain't playing.
I think that having sex with the nine does something to there woman. Dani POV says Jo looks good, her legs smooth and she is getting more beautiful every time she sees her after Ryodan starts Boinking Jo!! Maybe there woman can live longer as we'll ? Jo tells Dani the same thing when Dani confronts her after she sees her and Ryodan in his office. Maybe having sex with the nine regenerates there woman? Speculation !!!!!!
I have to disagree. I don't think they give them juju that makes them live longer. I believe that chick can die. LOL. I always thought it calms their beast or something. LOL. Mac didn't get all glam afterwards...at least I don't think.
No Jo Ho must die and die fast!! I agree totally i am just wandering maybe thy need to F them to feel that there woman r alive? If that is the case Ryodan is a good guy. Because he did not act on his overwhelming feeling to F Dani after she nearly died at the church! He knows she is to young and not ready!! So he took the next best thing he could get!
Ewww. Next best thing. LOL. Puhleeze! I just got that vibe they need to focus their energy on something when they feel like losing control. I don't know. I would like to know more about that.
Ha ha yes I know ! This is something that I want to know about to. I hope we will get more answers in the next 3 books? But KMM keeps her cards close to het hart.
I agree that having sex doesn't make the women magical in any way. I just think they have a lot of sex, and probably passionate sex. The women fall in love (and glow) and also get a good work-out out of it. Jo obviously had a lot of sex with Ryodan. I am also puzzled over why Ryodan sent Lor out for Dani instead of going himself when she was hurt the second time. I don't think it is because Ryodan needs to have sex with her, and can't, and therefore sent Lor. That would be weird. It has to be something else that we don't know yet.
I hope that Jo doesn't die. How will there be any intrigues if she isn't the one making them? I hope she starts a hell for Ryodan. That would be great.
Regarding the teasers we have gotten; none of them mention Kat, Dancer, Cruce or Jo either and they had a huge part in Iced. So either KMM is keeping us in the dark or their story isn't important at all in Burned. And see, I don't believe that. I think that we have gotten too little to determine what the story of Burned will be. All we know is that Mac will have a larger part. And that's about it.
I am curious about that too. What are some of your thoughts on why he stayed at Chesters? It wasn't for sex. That would be waiting for him.
I am not sure, so this is just a speculation. I don't think that Ryodan can handle that well seeing Dani hurt. And he probably trusts Lor enough to know that he can take care of Dani if she really needed help- we don't know how much information Ryodan was given about Danis condition. But there is still something odd about the whole thing. Like when Lor didn't find Dani, couldn't Ryodan just gone after her as he can track her? Maybe we are reading too much into it. :)
