I do think some of you guys are right but I can not see the 5 year later scenario!! Because what of the rest of the characters. Unless Dani does get stuck in fairy and we see her change during her 5 years stuck there and the rest of the people in the real world changing on this side? Imagine Ryodan face when Dani walks out of the silvers a grown woman! Bye Bye Jo Ho

Just imagine her having to fight constantly and if she is stuck with Christian all that sexual tension? For 5 years she will definitely grow up emotionally !!
I'm wondering if that's supposed to be Barrons on the cover of Burned. I thought it would have been Ryodan, but now I'm thinking it's probably Barrons.Don't think that Ryodan will get stuck in silver/feary . He could just die whenever and resurrect outside of Feary/silver.
Yeah, none of us really think that will happen, it's just a fun idea. In my head the Burned cover is of Ryodan. But let's be honest--it probably isn't supposed to "be" anyone in particular, it's just the publisher using a man's body to try and sell more books. I much prefer the beautiful hardcover version cover.
I don't even think of the cover with the male model on it. I don't like it. LOL.
Agreed... it is so generic and can't even begin to encompass the awesomeness and complexity of the series.
LOL. I don't think I can read it the day it comes out. Seriously. I need time and I need the weekend.
It sucks that most books always come out on a Tuesday...
I know. Makes it hard for me to read it all in one setting and want to get up for work the next day.

lol... I am thinking of listening to the audiobook so I can get other things done while listening. Otherwise I would be completely out of commission!!!!! Also, I worry that if I read it, I would be so eager to skip ahead that I would skim and miss all those great details.
Haha! I read Iced and then listened to it in audio. So good. I caught everything while listening. I can see myself skimming if I don't like something. LOL. My tolerance is low now. Might be worth it to listen.
I personally hate the new cover. I also hate the new cover of the ebook version of Darkfever. I enjoy looking at a hunky tattooed male body as much as the next girl, but those covers are not what grab my attention when looking for a book. If I were at a bookstore and saw the cover of Burned or the new cover of Darkfever, I would skip right over them unless I was specifically looking for a good smutty book. I would probably never have picked up Darkfever the first time I did with that cover and I would have completely missed out on this fan-freaking-tastic series!

To me, those covers scream "this book is about sex!" and that is SO not true about the Fever series.... it is so complex and plot-driven, unlike the classic romance novel, which is usually romance-driven. I had the same complaint about Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews. The was so awesome--the cover not so much.
Yeah serious... 8 weeks feels like 8 years... hopefully as things get super busy for the holidays time will go by faster!

Hmm, you can always tell us both what you want to happen, and what you think will actually happen :)
What I think : Nothing! Absolutely nothing. They won't act on any emotions. I think Dani will start to acknowledge that she cares for him. That she sees him as a desirable man but that will be that. Maybe others will notice like Lor, Mac, or even my man, Ryo.I think in the last two books, we will see the progression.
What I want...for her to realize her emotions. Him to notice it and force her to act on it in some form. I need him to grovel.
ahh so exciting! love all your thoughts. It would be interesting to see the progression over two books after Burned. I thought since Dani's story was originally supposed to be a trilogy that the romance would wrapped up during Flayed, but with all the changes with the books, who knows?! :)
So what are your thoughts? What do you think will happen between them in Burned.
I think she will have lost her heart to Dancer and been betrayed by him, so she will be healing. Maybe she will see a more caring side to Ryodan and he will be there for her in that time. (not sure if I am romanticizing Ryodan or what... he just seems a bit more open to talking than Barrons ever was) I think Dani will begin to identify Ryodan as a friend and will start to feel great attraction towards him. But that she will ignore it, pretend it's not there, etc. I am betting that as soon as Dani starts becoming more of a woman, Ryodan will be instantly attracted to her. But that he will hide it and bide his time until all his cards are in place. This is what my guess is for Burned!
So no kiss or nada? LOL. I think she will be hurt by Dancer that's for sure. I'm still confused by what I think for her and Christian.
Oh sure. A kiss-- why not?! :D Gotta have something to look forward to in Burned! My guess for Christian is that she will just keep fighting off his affection until he turns his interest elsewhere.
There is always that scene where she ponders his affections towards her and thinks that she will be able to have him on a leash. I think that might come up later. I think she will use him in some sort of way. I also think they will grow closer...maybe in Faery. She won't have romantic intentions. Hopefully he turns his attention to another.
I don't think anything will happen between them in Burned. I'm not entirely convinced that KMM is going to put them together romantically. *ducks*

yeah, I wasn't impressed at all. It doesn't mention anyone but Mac and gives the impression that it's all about her. It honestly makes me want to delay buying the book until I can read enough reviews to see how much of Dani is in it.

I am starting to get very very nervous about this book! I hope I can keep the faith but I am not so sure any more? Mac is Back!! I mean Dani is the Mega and she is all that! I want my Dani and Ryo Fix not Mac. KMM better keep her promise and give Dani the same Book time as Mac! And that trailer suck!!
No Ryo and Dani? KimeyDiann...why? As far as the trailer goes, I didn't like it. It doesn't say much to make you want to read the book.

I think KMM's publishers wasted their time making that trailer. Or maybe that was the problem, they didn't put any time into it.
I'm excited for more Mac personally. I love the Mega too, but I just really connected with Mac when I first started reading the series. I was early-to-mid-twenties when I first read Darkfever and had just recently lost my sister. I've always been the type to try to find rainbows in the darkest times. I come from a good southern family with loving parents. I had a lot in common with pink-Mac. And I guess for those reasons, I have big-sister feelings towards Dani much the way Mac does.
@Samantha - I'm not against Ryo & Dani, I'm just not entirely convinced at this point that KMM is heading in that direction. I mean, everyone (fans in general, not anyone specifically) is all worried about who Dani is going to fall in love with, but the Fever books aren't really what I would call Romance Books, more like Urban Fiction. Think about it, there wasn't much "romance" until book five really.
Things could drastically change before Dani gets romantically involved with anyone, there is just so much going on in AWC-Dublin.

I'm not romanticizing her books. I don't think it will be all googly eyes for Dani and Ryo but I do believe Dani will have a romantic interest. There were a ton of stuff going on in Iced that needed to be addressed but KMM still decided to go and bring back Mac. Mac doesn't know the man she loves. He has secrets, blah, blah. Uh...not interested.
Well, to (kind of) reassure you guys on the Dani/ love interest dilemma, a reader asked KMM at a J.R. Ward book signing how old Dani will be in burned, she said Dani will be 19 and "sexually viable." Guess what THAT means. Hellooo Ryo/Dani sexual tension!

The thing I love about the Fever Books is that they are so different from anything else I've read. I will be so disappointed if it turns in to just another angsty romance with misunderstandings that could easily be resolved with a little communication.
Other than the Dani/Ryo stuff, what do you all want to see happen in Burned?
I want to know more about The Book and V'Lane/Cruce; What is happening to Christian and can it be reversed, is he really becoming evil; The King and his concubine, what happened when they sifted out of the abbey; what sort of trouble is Lor getting into with the Unseele Princess..... and so so much more. I especially want to know what happens between Mac and Dani, if they can both forgive and move forward.
Has anyone wondered how dani has her abilities? I would like to explore more on that. She might not even be completely human.
Good point, Cookie! That is something else I'd like to know more about. And Dani's mother. I always think back to the fact that Dani was kept in a cage like a dog a lot when she was a small child because her mother couldn't control her. Dani has had such a horrible life! That is why I really want her to find some true happiness and someone to love her unconditionally (not necessarily romantic love, familial love even).
Ok I had time to think !! Ryo and Dani will have some romance! But not necessary from Dani more from Ryo side?Dancer is not the one that is going to betray Dani. Jo is going to do all that. Dancer is there to protect Dani! Dani is more then she seems. I think Dani is going to have the ability to sing the song of making! Her mother was not her biological mother.The concubine is her mother or/ had something to do with Dani's birth just like the Book did something to Mac? That is why she can see everything in the highlander series you read a lot of how the queen see everything even the strings of time! Maybe Dani is the first thing the concubine made on her own with the song?
