No - it's not the case :) they are stand-alones with overlapping characters. I don't want it marketed as a sequel :)

No - there is no "heart" series. That was added without my knowledge. They are companion novels and can be read independently. I see what you mean about Goodreads standards, but that's not my series' name...So shouldn't I have some say in what my books are labeled as? :/
I'd like the series to be deleted all together. There is no series and that is not the series name. Someone added that without my consent. That seems odd to me...

Nothing - Please just delete the original series. I will change the covers if I have to just to stop the confusion. :)

As the author, you will have the ability to change which edition of the book is the default, which will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile. Here's how: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...
Regardless, changing the covers will make no difference to whether the books have overlapping characters -- and whether they constitute a series by Goodreads standards.
rivka, the author is requesting that the "series" be deleted as it in fact does not exist to her. She has written some books that share characters but do not constitute a series to her. I have checked the manual but see nothing about not deleting this on author request. Did I miss something?

Not exactly. That post covers the definition of a series. It does not answer the question of whether or not a series, once created, needs to stay put or can it be deleted at the request of an author.
It occurs to me that, if we delete the series as requested by the author, there is no way to keep it from being re-created in the future. Perhaps the author would agree to a note in the description field stating that these books share some characters but are stand alone stories? And then they should not be numbered but simply listed.
You know Rivka is staff, right? Her word is final on policy.
Could I possibly have it changed to (A Heart Novel) so that people know that they don't have to read them in order? That way one isn't a sequel? It's just overlapping characters?
Changed the series title and removed the numbers. Books in series don't have to be numbered, as far as I can tell.
usually when characters are in other books it's a saga but others see as series to define saga. however if requested off. . not sure why that isn't honored.
