I Think This Book will Be *Steamy* Possibly More Then Ignite Me
I had no idea it was going to be NA!!! I haven't really looked that much in to it besides cover and summary and I just figured it would be YA. OMG this is gonna be good!

It's NA ? I didn't know that. I figured it'd be YA just like TOG. Well I guess this will be the first NA book I read :)

Ginny what do you mean? To me, smut applies to books like Fifty Shades of Grey where the sexual scenes are very explicit along with all the other shenanigans that go on in that book. Basically erotica. I guess this would be a good time for someone more experienced to differentiate between YA and NA. It would help for the younger readers of Throne of Glass to know whether they should read this book or not. They probably will, but still always good to have a pre-warning.

I sincerely apologize. I didn't mean to imply that you should read the book. I just couldn't imagine Sarah writing something that graphic if that's what you were worried about so I wanted someone to explain. In the other threads, I've noticed some of the commenters are pretty young so I figured having someplace where YA and NA were differentiated in detail would be beneficial to future readers of the book, not to mention concerned parents.

NA is basically the sexier version of YA. It's aimed towards a bit more mature audience (i.e. college students) yet it's blended in with YA.
It's basically a trio that readers in "our genre" like: MG, YA, and NA.
NA is not erotica, it's no 50 shades, it's just hotter than YA which doesn't go far at all.

I guess I´m a little bit older than you but I didn´t know about this difference.
I hated 50 shades... (sorry if someone of you like it... nothing personal) but anyway is not like Sarah´s style. I mean, the "hot" scene between Chaol and Celaena wasn´t explicit... she uses to write in a romantic PoV, so is hard for me to think that ACoTaR could be that explicit. Anyway I can´t wait to read it!

And don´t worry, I really don´t think that ACOTAR would be that kind of book. I guess it could be more like Cassandra Clare´s way of writting about sexual scenes. More sweet than erotic. Nothing too explicit for a young public.

I didn't think ACOTAR would be that explicit either, but since my understanding of the NA genre is pretty vague, I didn't want to say anything without knowing for sure. Personally, I love the step-up. Looking forward to it =D
Just read the first four chapters. I love paranormal romances with a passion. I'm so looking forward to what Prythian will be like. It seems like it's going to be a really interesting world. Definitely different from what we were introduced to in HoF.
I've just downloaded the chapters but haven't read it yet. In fact I've only observed the map which looks really cool! Idk why but I love looking at book maps. Prythian looks really interesting and I'm definitely excited to learn more about it. World building has always been my favourite part about books. I've never read NA and I am excited to try it out!

Ohh!!! Great!!! Who said that with 20 somebody is old enough for fairy tales???! I don't have troubles when a "hot" scene is writen step by step... But just if is something believable and not like a pink novel... Here in Mexico we say "cursi" But sarah's style is good.

When she went to sell the furs to the mercenary and got all that money I was all YES YES YES SOMETHING GOOD IS FINALLY HAPPENING!!! YES!! But then she went andd gave that money to her sisters and they spent it on useless shit and I was all NO! NO! BAD MOVE BAD MOVE!! YOU COULDVE USED THAT TO GET NEW BOOTS AND OTHER STUFF YOU NEED TO SURVIVE!! DONT USE IT ON USEKESS STUFF!!

Sarah J Maas had to dumb it down for the violence and sex scenes for her YA series TOG. I am sure ACOTAR won't be too explicit but I know Sarah has the ability to write that sort of content. I love TOG so, basically, I will be reading ACOTAR even if it does have some steamy parts
I'm really excited about this, as SJM is one of my favorites. I've been reading about it and I'm currently downloading the 4chapter sampler. It sounds like an amazing idea and I'm not worried about the NA instead of YA thing. I bet there will be some steamy parts but they won't be anything like 50 shades, I can promise that much. It's not like the entire book will be full of those scenes either :)

I just read the free 4 chaprer preview and I'm glad it's quite different from TOG. It's overall a good start so far for this novel.
