Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Who can believe it is November?

The good thing it is that time of year where we can talk about what your favorite book has been so far this year?

Also for those of you who are doing the GR Reading Challenge how is it going? Did you finish or are you on track?

Leigh | 1219 comments I am 10 books over my goal of 200 books. I was excited about that since I didn't finish my goal last year.

LastBreath (last_breath) | 242 comments Well I achieved my GR Reading Challenge early last month, so I'm pretty stoked. It was a modest 100 books but I'm glad I finished with room to spare. I'm thinking next year I may ratchet it up to 150.

It's hard to say what book really stuck out for me in 2014. Probably because I've started so many different series. But for me, there have been some really outstanding authors. These are writers that I've only started reading this year and appear in no particular order.

They are -

Lorelei James Rough Riders
G.A. Aiken Dragon Kin
Shelley Adina Magnificent Devices
Joanna Wylde Reapers MC

Based on that it is safe to assume that the first book to feature in each of the named series, for me, rank pretty high.

I also discovered that YA books really aren't that terrible. It took Once a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough for me to see that. Then I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Kelley Armstrong also writes in this category. It was while I was searching for her Woman of the Otherworld series that landed me there. Now I'm making my way through her Darkest Powers & Darkness Rising series.

Long Hard Ride (Rough Riders, #1) by Lorelei James Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken Lady of Devices (Magnificent Devices, #1) by Shelley Adina Reaper's Property (Reapers MC, #1) by Joanna Wylde Once a Witch (Witch, #1) by Carolyn MacCullough The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong The Calling (Darkness Rising, #2) by Kelley Armstrong

So there you go, the short and sweet of it.

^_^

You know in Alice in Zombieland, I kind of wished she'd made the creatures into something other than zombies, but it does make for an interesting title.

It would have been interesting. Like someone else said there was little to tie this story to Alice in Wonderland, but I really liked it.
