Brandy, I'm not sure it was ever resolved. You've got me running to the bookshelf now! lol
I think KMM originally planned to take her Highlander world in a different direction, and then she made the Fever series go that direction instead. That's why the first cover of Darkfever has a more Highlander cover. She did that with the Daegus portraits in Kiss of the Highlander. We never heard any more about them, but it felt like they were supposed to be really important. And who knows? maybe their child will be mentioned in Shadowfever? We all have to wait til Dec!! grr..

Angela (angbens) Just downloaded The Highlander's Touch (Highlander, #3) by Karen Marie Moning (audio book) on iTunes, and I just love the way the narrator tells it. I skimmed through it, and I am a sucker for a Scottish accent and he does it great. Can't wait to listen to when I workout.

Leigh (llogan24) | 2 comments Angela - i agree w/ you completely!! I had heard of Phil Gigante's reading of the books as "eargasmic", and it totally is. i borrowed the audiobooks from my library and just finished The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning (EXCELLENT by the way - Dageus is sexy as all get out!), and i've started The Immortal Highlander (Highlander, #6) by Karen Marie Moning today. i'm loving these Scots! ;)

message 54: by Megan (new)

Megan just finished the last of the series, Into the Dreaming. I loved it even though it was so short.

message 55: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (thesa) My favoite is Adam Black! Gotta love him!

message 56: by Ralph (new)

Ralph | 23 comments Did anyone else read or hear a possible disconnect in Adam's and his son's stories, (it might have been something in the Fever Series though), where Adam's daughter-in-law _____ will or will not lose her soul over time.
I think it was a reference that he, Adam, was comfortably sure that they'd live on forever intact.
Anybody have any recollect on this, or am I imaging things.

message 57: by [deleted user] (new)

At the end of Adam's story , he took the potion to Cian and wife (sorry can't remember name right now) and gave them the choice of staying fae or keeping their soul. I believe that they both drunk the potion.

message 58: by Wan (new)

Wan (wanwaddell) | 42 comments You meant Circenn and Lisa. Cian is one of the Keltars.

I did post my thoughts on the different thread but -- my read - They did become immortals by drinking the faery potion. They didn't loose their souls because they didn't become faeries, they're just immortals.

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry, that is who I meant. Darn this CRS, it is really affecting my life.

Iknow, I love kiss of the Highlander when he makes Cian sound like Sean Connery.

Brandy *Ahviel* (ahviel) | 57 comments I hope once the Fever series is done then some of the questions that are coming out about the Highlander series will be resolved in more books. Because I keep trying to figure out how Highlander series goes with Fever

message 62: by Angela (new)

Angela (angbens) I am on Spell of the Highlander (Highlander, #7) by Karen Marie Moning and I see more and more from the last couple of books that you see that go with the Fever series. Now, I am going to have to re-read the Fever series before Shadowfever comes out!

I want to re-read them to, now let's see if I can find the time...

message 64: by Angela (new)

Angela (angbens) I am just not a big "re-reader" I guess because I have so many other books I want to get too. But I think I will have to make and exception with this one...lol

ohhhhhhhhh yeah ;p

message 69: by Ralph (new)

Ralph | 23 comments Does anyone know when-abouts in the book the scene in The Immortal Highlander was where Adam and three McKeltars are speaking together? Thanks Highland Hussy, that was an interesting read.

That's the worst, and sometimes very annoying detriment of listening vs reading. Urghrghh.

message 70: by Ralph (new)

Ralph | 23 comments Quinnmc79 & Valerie I couldn't agree more about Cian and Daegus, though maybe for diff reasons. Re back in Nov/Dec messages.
For me it was that they both had had the experience of being too well-brushed with the Dark Arts. Their respect and awe for what is there, and their regard for the enticement that exists there.
Adam too, for that matter.

Adoore | 9 comments I just started this series and I am trying to get all the characters involved sorted out. The queen is the same one from the fever series, right and who was the fae king? Can anyone tell were I can go that kind of explain some of the characters.

Yes the Queen is the same from the fever series and you can try her websites but I can explain about characters I'm rereading the whole series now.

message 73: by Adoore (new)

Adoore | 9 comments Yes please explain them to me I would really appreciate.

Well, technically, it's not the same Queen. I think the Queen in the Highlanders series is the true Queen Aoibheal. But I don't want to spoil anything else in either series. Keep reading =D Don't forget the last Highlander book, so far, Into the Dreaming.

message 75: by Adoore (new)

Adoore | 9 comments Okay so I am up to date with the fever series including ICE and I am wondering about the king and queen fae mention in the first highlander book.

It's hard to answer that. It may spoil some of the Highlander series. Just remember, the Highlander series happened waaayyy before Fever.

Are they the same ones mentioned in the Fever series. Or are they different ones before the ones in the fever series.

message 80: by Michielle (last edited Dec 22, 2012 05:39PM) (new)

Michielle | 22 comments The Seelie king - to be Unseelie King is the same. No one knows where he came from, but he is not originally of the Seelie caste. (view spoiler) You find out what happens to the Queen in the Highlander series. Hope that helps with out spilling too many beans.

message 81: by Adoore (new)

Adoore | 9 comments Thank you so much it does help a lot. Now I am starting to understand the Highlander Series compared to or as a prequel to the Fever series (maybe not necessarily a prequel but as occurring way before the Fever)

Last question: Are the Makelter ( I might've spelled it wrong) the only ones with immortality?

message 82: by Michielle (new)

Michielle | 22 comments I can't answer that without spoiling the entire format of the Highlander series of how some of them are here in the modern time of the Fever series. =D

message 83: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) Reminding everyone that you can use the < spoiler> message here < /spoiler > tags if you don't want to give away too much. Then the curious people can see it but others can ignore it. Use the html I wrote above without the spaces inside the brackets <->. It will appear like this. (view spoiler).
