Ella Meylin (ellameylin) I would love to know what you guys are reading this month. You can share here!

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) I don't really read books to fit the theme of the month a lot of times, (the only exception being Christmas season XD!) so this month I am re-reading the Keeper of the Lost Cities series and I am reading for the first time (drum roll!) Fablehaven the first book was a little underwhelming to me, given how much my dad had talked about how AWESOME it was (he is a p i c k y reader!) but now, on the third book, MAN it just keeps getting bigger.
Sorry if I went on a little long, I'm just feeling extra giddy today!

message 3: by Ella Meylin (new)

Ella Meylin (ellameylin) hello Natalie! I have been wanting to read fablehaven for a long time. should I read it?

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) YES!!! The first book is a little slow, but once you get past that, it's g r e a t ! Especially the 2nd book, in the first book I could predict most of what would happen, but in the 2nd, I was surprised several times! A great turn on the series!

bekah (bekahhowell) | 4 comments Hii!! It's 2019 which means the new book by Scott Westerfeld just came out this month, so that's what i'm reading right now. But i'm really also super excited because i'm planning on starting the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi After!

Morgan Fogelstrom | 19 comments This month I'm reading Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe, The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (this one will take a while), The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate – Discoveries from a Secret World by Peter Wohlleben (again), aaaand lastly Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson. Yeah I have a lot going on I expect to be reading some of these through November as well. This is very classic heavy so I am also reading Cold Comfort Farm: A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation by Stella Gibbons to mix it up.

The Count of Monte Cristo is a rough read for me mostly because I detest betrayal stories. Why I chose to read a classic betrayal story is beyond me. I love the movie which I hear is nothing like the book, and so far that is proving to be true.

No worries! That is the great thing about differing tastes. So what was it that you didn't like about the series? I'm always curious about these kind of things. Was it the writing style, the genre, the story, all of the above?

Sorta all of the above. I just don't like that wizard, magic stuff. And i'm not a fan of the author. But that is just my opinion.
