I've been a bad Netgalley reviewer. I stopped reviewing about 5 years ago, left a bunch of publishers hanging and now have an abysmal ratio that I'm trying to work back from.Beginning of month:

I finished my first one this month. I had actually started it in the beginning of September and it took me all month to finish it. I really put me behind on Netgalley and 2 other books slipped past the publishing date. I am going to try to get them caught up this month though.
This Tender LandI was thinking the whole time I was reading it that I was going to rate it 3 stars. But the last 25% really made the book for me and I rated it 4 stars.
I did find it very heavy and depressing though.
Has anyone else read it?
I still have that one on my shelf to read, Vicki. I missed the publishing date. I'm hoping to get to it later this month, though I'm a little concerned that it took so long to read. Was it a slow start?

Finished two so far! One was a picture book though but still, another book down!
this book was creepy and awesome and captivating.
this was a perfect way to teach kids about Anne Frank without making her life seem like it wasn't heartbreaking but also without making too sad to where kids won't want to read it.

I finished my first review for the month. It was good, but it had some issues and I didn't love it. Oddly, the beginning and the end were the parts I had issues with. Instead of a lull in the middle, that was the good part. This was a difficult book for me to review. It was fairly average and I think the issues might have been related to writing ability. The story was probably better than the execution IMO.
Because You're Mine review
So far I’ve read 6 books, most came out long before this month. I’m also in the middle of 2 others. We will ignore the fact I’ve also been approved for six new ones 🙃
I haven't finished any yet :o
But I received a message from a Publisher about a book and she was so awfully nice that I requested the widget. haha
Only after I downloaded did I realise the book was over 800 pages! wowsers. I'll have to read during tower teams ;)

So a couple months ago, I borrowed my friends account just to see what books she had. I accidentally sent myself one of her books and I thought I got approved for it. I went to go write my review on the website and realized I was never approved for it 😭😭 I mean I’m so glad I read it and will probably still post it here with an asterisk but I was so upset lol
Finished my second book for the month. If you enjoy women's literature, contemporary romance, and strong female main characters, I would recommend this one.

I’ve been seeing this around and am intrigued!
If you're interested in the genre, give it a try, Beth. I thought it was really worth the read. It does have that I want to / I can't or shouldn't dilemma going on, but it was well-done.
I recently got approved for a book that comes out today and as I was going to post my review on amazon the book wasn't available in my country (or using amazon.ca) and I can't post a review from the other amazons without spending $50 first...has this ever happened to you?

Interesting. No, In that case I would only post on goodreads

Feed Your Readers, the NetGalley Challenge
Duration: Monthly
How to Participate:
The NetGalley Challenge is designed to not only get you to read your NetGalley books, but to also advertise your reviews for others to see because after all, that's what NetGalley is all about.
Though you may pop in/out at any time, the NetGalley Challenge will run on a monthly basis so you are able to see progress being made.
1. At the beginning of the month, post any/all of the following:
a: How many books on your NetGalley shelf
b: What books are on your NG shelf
c: What your Netgalley feedback ratio is
2. During the month, read the NetGalley books that you can AND update your post with your reviews. (You can do this after each book or wait until the end of the month.)
3. At the end of the month, update your post and with:
a: What books you read
b: Link(s) to your review(s)**
c: Your updated shelf count
d: Your updated books to read
e: Your updated ratio
Then start a new post for the next month!
Do you ever get so caught up in your reading that you don't want to stop to write your reviews?
Thinking about that, it was decided we need a "Review Weekend", once each month, set aside to write those reviews you've been not doing in favor of reading!
Review Weekends will vary randomly each month and is meant to be a time set aside to review. Take one, or both days and get caught up on reviews so you can spend the rest of the month reading!!
The next Review Weekend is set for October 19/20
**When linking your reviews, please link only to the book(s) here at GoodReads. At this time, linking to a personal blog is not allowed. Thank you!
