Wickedest Witch by Eve Langlais Wickedest Witch

This was cute and funny. Kind of what I've come to to expect from Eve Langlais. At first I thought that this was connected to the Welcome To Hell series because the names were similar, but it wasn't.

I'm just a little sad that it's the end of these characters. I really liked the way that Ryker handled Evangeline. He was exactly what she needed. And Evangeline was the funniest wickedest witch I've come across.

I hope to see these characters again at some point.

What a great start to this world! I can't wait to continue this series. I'm so intrigued by the challenges that the author(s) give to the most commonly held theories of how vampires and werewolves are made.

At the end when Shawn and Arlend are talking about courting earth women. That was freakin' hilarious. Shawn was saying that his "research" showed that when a werewolf and vampire fight for the same girl, the vampire always wins...Twilight anyone? LMAO! too funny!

Theme: ★★★. Witch wanting to explore the limits of her newly discovered power and elude those hunting her family with her vampire husband.
Excitement: ★★★. It was just so long on audio. LONG! It took away from my enjoyment.
Total: ★★★. I just I didn't see what made this story so epic except for length. It was okay, but it wasn't a "Can't put this down or sleep" kind of novel for me.

Science Fiction: My Fair Captain by J.L. Langley
Theme:★★★★. An IN captain sent to another planet to investigate some missing arms.
Excitement:★★★★. It was really sweet with a lot of sex.
Total:★★★★. I docked it a star for too much sex but I really liked the story. Very different for me, a Sc-Fi HR.

This pairing came down to which romance did I end up feeling more invested in as well as how much I just liked the books. Both fit into their genres perfectly - no explanation needed as to why they fit category and both books lived up to what those categories should be. No one is more surprised than I that I picked the SF as the winner but I simply enjoyed the characters more and enjoyed the development of the love relationship more. I'll continue to read both series, of course, but I'm more eager to see more of Sirantha Jax's world than Raven St. James'...
