@Trisha
I would love to join you for a buddy read of Becoming in December.
Would that be all right with you?

Dear Ice, I’d love to join you for reading The Graveyard Book in November.

Absolutely oshizu! Please get yourself a copy if you already haven’t. Let’s do this in December!

Hi Lynn, are you still reading Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood in November? Also, I’d like to join you for the reading of Washington Black. Already got my hands on the copy.

I do not recall listing Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood! If I did, I bet Goodreads pulled a different book than the one I meant to list and I didn't even notice! I am sorry...but please remove that.
Yes, I also have my copy of Washington Black! Although I will wait until November to begin reading it since the book club meeting is mid-November! So glad you will be joining me!

Also, can I suggest [book:Be..."
I already read this or I would join in. I may "lurk" and participate anyway... I loved this book so much!

You know what? I have been wanting to read [book:Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood for years! Why not in November! @Trish and @Kristin Please go ahead and list this as a buddy read for November since there are at least two/three of us wanting to read it. (I'm old so I probably listed it and then forgot I listed it... :(

Haha, you didn't forget that you listed it.
The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood was nominated by a different Lynn.
See the post below:
I would like to read Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood in October or November. Is anyone interested in joining me for a discussion?

Oh my! I’m so sorry for the goof-up! 😟
@Lynn, we can do both Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood and Washington Black in November. Please forgive me for confusing you with the other Lynn. My bad!

Whew! Thank you so much for clarifying that, oshizu! Yikes! Perhaps I do have a bit of sanity remaining... ;)

Absolutely no problem! Besides, I love her yellow flower! ;)
I think I posted this in the wrong thread before.
I will be reading As I Lay Dying in November. This is a great intro to Faulkner book. It’s accessible, yet introduces the reader to Faulkner’s style.
Or I’m possibly just confused since it’s in the spreadsheet. Not that I’m expecting a mass sign up, but how do other people join buddy reads that were suggested in the previous thread if that thread is locked?
Maybe I need a secret decoder ring to figure out how things work in the group!

@Kristin I’d like to join the buddy reads of -
December:
Go Set a Watchman
Angels & Demons
November:
Three Act Tragedy
Emma.
Many thanks!
Thanks, Kristin. I just need to get more familiar with how things are set up. I appreciate your patience and the help.

I'd like to suggest The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell, that's the 1st book of the saga "The Saxon Stories".
I am open to fit other people's reading schedules and months, but myself I can start reading it in November.

Book #1 is The Final Empire

I just bought the book last night so l'm in!

I have more series in mind to suggest, but I will save those for the broader 2020 suggestion thread next month. But since this is a big one, I figure that a January start would be necessary:
Crown of Stars series by Kate Elliott. 7 books starting with King's Dragon. These are thick books so we could possibly slot 2 months for each.
I have had it in mind to tackle this adult fantasy series ever since I was blown away by the author's Crossroads series a couple of years ago. Crown of Stars was published 1997-2006, there are lots of used copies around, your library might have them, and the first book is currently $2.99 on kindle.

@Kristin and Sonsoles
This year, our Mistborn series Buddy Read read through Books 1 through 6 and will finish next month with a novella.
Mistborn #7 is not expected to be released until late 2020, at the very earliest.
Good luck finding some Mistborn reading buddies, Sonsoles!

Just want to say thank you so much for putting together that list of two month's worth of upcoming Buddy Reads plus nominations missing a reading buddy!
And the book links are greatly appreciated!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have thought on trying to catch up, but I have to be honest with myself and I don't think I can read all those books fast enough to get it, so let's see if someone wants to join. Anyway I am not in a hurry if somebody suggest to wait a bit more.
Thanks so much^^

I read it two weeks ago.. now I have to catch up so I can read book 7 next year.

Also I wanted to ask if I it's ok if I read a book in different language from English, because I'd like to read Equal Rites, but my book is in Spanish, is it valid or not?

Sounds fine to me! The only barrier that might come up in discussion would be if any character names were changed. How do you say "Weatherwax" in Spanish?

Sounds fine to me! The only barr..."
Haha, good point, I didn't think of that, but I can guess which character are people talking about, since most part of the name have a meaning. Granny Weatherwax is Yaya Ceravieja (Yaya means granny and cera means wax), they are easy to guess for me to use them in English so I can participate in the threads.
(And in the worst scenario, I can always check on Google XD)

L'm okay with that.

My name and Jannene 's are not on the spreadsheet for Angels & Demons for December. Thanks.

If you put me in another book read and it's a book I want to read , I'll be happy to join.
Thanks!

OMG I have to read this now, what have I done???
I vote:
-2 months per book (will help avoid series burnout)
-no supplementary books, isn't the core 7 enough?

Kristin, count me in! 😊

L'm in.

After Elantris in December, Scott and I plan to read read Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson in January in preparation for the Stormlight Archive series later in 2020.
Would anyone like to join us? Brandon Sanderson's books are amazing if you are a fan of fantasy!

After [book:Elantr..."
Yes for me.

Yay! Thanks Dominique :) Would you also like to join us for Stormlight Archive?

Of course!

Hello, Dominique. Nice to meet you. I don't think I can read book 1 of the saga before November, but I can read it during that month so we can discuss it, and if you feel like, we go on reading together ^^
