Hope you feel better...this time of year is always hard for me and lots of my friends/family/coworkers are getting ill. I hope to avoid it (fingers crossed!).

Wonderful news! Way to go team!

I haven't had a chance to look for this post yet, but do you know, Monica, if there is a folder of all of the team's scores? Thanks for the update.

Some of it was people saving up books to finish on the 8th. So I think some of the growth difference will slow down.

That's true....I do remember seeing a few people talking about that! The strategy! I'm so new to these challenges that I just do my normal thing and forget there's sometimes gameplay and strategy to how people do it. I'll get better at that!!! The competitive side of me comes out sometimes!

message 208: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) TaraJo glad to know you can be competitive. I sometimes spend more time on the threads then reading books. This time I am making sure to get my reading done. I am listening to a Harry Potter book and hope to finish it this week. I did see the folder tonight.

Kelly thanks for posting the link to the team ranking.

More books read so our points changed again!! Love seeing that!!

Keep it up guys!!

Elaine I hope you feel better.

I totally hear you! I just signed up for a new group that is doing a year-long challenge starting in January (which coincidentally is a Harry Potter Theme!). I've spent the last week doing more things in there (getting my threads all setup, looking ahead to challenges, figuring out books, etc) and not as much time reading this past week! I've got another challenge ending Nov 31 that I've got finish up a few more books for, and then a new round for that one starts up Dec 1, so I need to do a lot more reading and less planning/strategizing!

message 210: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) What is the group you joined that is doing a Harry Potter Theme challenge? Not that I need another challenge to start. I love HP!!

Not sure...probably mid-to-late...around 18-20 or so..there's a BR / series read already up and going but I just can't get to it till then!

message 220: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments ahh. I'll try to remember to aim for around then so you'll have someone to chat with then :)

message 221: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie @TaraJo Code Name Verity is one of my favorites, I read it in two days and it blew my mind

message 222: by Erin (last edited Nov 20, 2014 08:14AM) (new)

Erin | 376 comments Wow sorry I've been gone so long! I got back from my camping trip and showered, changed, and went to the opera with my friend and when I got back from that my internet was broken. And then I got sent home from school yesterday because I was sick and the internet didn't come back on until last night, but I'm finally back.!

So that Harry Potter thing sounds pretty awesome....if you wouldn't mind messaging me too? :D

So my tentative rest of November/December reading list:

For school:
Bleak House by Charles Dickens - has to be finished by the end of Thanksgiving Break
Hamlet by William Shakespeare

Panic by Lauren Oliver Island of Fire (Unwanteds, #3) by Lisa McMann A Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire, #3) by George R.R. Martin The Young Elites (The Young Elites, #1) by Marie Lu Atlantia by Ally Condie The Fellowship of the Ring (The Lord of the Rings, #1) by J.R.R. Tolkien
And this will probably change and get longer once I actually look at my stack of unread books in my room instead of just thinking of things off the top of my head.

Tara | 1259 comments Monica wrote: "Wow Tara I think you are a recruiter for that group!!"

I know!!! I didn't even mean to be! I originally sent a PM to a couple of people who I'd done another challenge with who both had rated HP 5***** and they are both challenge whores so I thought they may be interested! Here, I just mentioned it in passing and got at least 3 people signed up, and another 3 sent the info to!

They should give me a signing bonus! My team should bonus points for each recruit!!! HEHE!

message 236: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann | 66 comments I tend to be a mood reader, so I don't have a set in stone plan for what I'm going to read, but here are some of the books I'm hoping to read by the end of the year:

Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels, #7) by Ilona Andrews The Witch With No Name (The Hollows, #13) by Kim Harrison Covet (Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin Chimes at Midnight (October Daye, #7) by Seanan McGuire Red Fox (Experiment in Terror, #2) by Karina Halle

I am really really really wanting to read Covet (Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward but I keep putting it off for other things! I'm not sure if I can get it in by end of yea, but I really need to read this! I think they setup a Buddy Read for it too, right?? Maybe this will spur me on to read it!

I did see a buddy read for it, I think under Featured Series.

Ashley Marie Steph Ann, I loved Clash of Kings!

Steph Ann | 66 comments Ashley wrote: "Steph Ann, I loved Clash of Kings!"

That's good to hear! I started it once over a year ago and had to set it aside for other challenge books, and I've been wanting to restart it ever since. I actually own it now, so I won't have to worry about returning it to the library by a certain date like I did the last time lol.

message 241: by Ari (new)

Ari | 124 comments I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing for December, except reading Ruby Red if it gets in to the library on time, and maybe The Great Gatsby, depending on my mood. Possibly Sabriel. I love that book so much! And it's been a while since I read it. And I seriously doubt I'll be done with The Silmarillion before December, so I'll still be reading that.

I adore the first four books in ASOIAF, but Dance With Dragons was a bit of a letdown for me. I've got all five books in paperback at home but each time I picked up the first one I just couldn't get into it that way. Loved the audiobooks though, that's the only reason I read through all five this year lol

message 244: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie updated my post in Message #215 with December books.

message 245: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Hey, just noticed that Steph Ann doesn't have any books coming up in your official spreadsheet. You guys may want to take a look at this. If you're using the auto update function and it's not working please let me know and I'll look into it.

message 246: by Erin (new)

Erin | 376 comments I just checked and have no idea how to work the spreadsheet so I have no idea how to fix it

message 247: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Menu - TowerTeams > Remake Member Sheets

message 248: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) Usually I do the remake member sheets. I don't know what the auto update function is.

message 249: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) I got the sheet working. Books are showing up on Steph Ann's sheet now. The only thing wrong so far is Ari just needs to set a date read for the HP Sorcerer's stone book. She posted it in the read books thread. That would give us an extra 20 points. Otherwise right now we are at 1800 points.

message 250: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) Stopping in to let everyone know that we are currently in 17th place with 1820 points.

Remember to add any books that you have posted in the read book thread to your TT shelf and to also enter the date read. If there is no date read listed the book will not appear on our spreadsheet.

You guys are doing an awesome job in reading and doing the BR & BOM.

I have about 5 books I am currently reading. Hoping to finish a few this week.
