Mariel of Redwall. I love it. Good is good and evil is evil. And evil gets a good bashing in the end. What more d'you want..."
I love the Redwall books!

Superb wasn't it! Would recommend both "The Handmaid's Tale" (obviously) and "Oryx and Crake"

Yes, it really wasn't what I was expecting! The Handmaid's Tale is naturally on my list but I hadn't heard of Oryx and Crake - looks intriguing, I'm adding it now. Thanks for the recommendations!

Endgame (E, #5) by Kate Wrath
The Path of Water (Quests, book 1) by Barbara G. Tarn
The Path of Fire (Quests, book 2) by Barbara G. Tarn
My Vibrating Vertebrae: and other poems by Agnes Mae Graham
Beat The Hackers by Stephanie Dagg
More Tales of the Southern Kingdoms - volume 2 by Barbara G. Tarn
Oh Auntie! by Stephanie Dagg

Malus Domestica

The problem isn't the quality of the writing, but that it's a romance in a science fiction jacket. Unfortunately, it's rare that I like a romance and this isn't one of them. Also, there are a couple of small science errors in the yarn.
Romance lovers will probably like this story. It follows the "formula", the characters are well-developed, the guy is a strong "hunk" (as required for the romance genre), and the writing is solid.
If I were still in the publishing business and this was a submission, I'd recommend it to the bosses.
But I'm gonna drop it.

That's a problem that people have created a SF-romance genre as opposed to having romance elements in a book predominantly SF. I wouldn't appreciate that either.

This one is primarily a romance in an SF setting. I have no heartburn with that as long as the buyer is aware of what s/he's buying. It should be in the romance category.

Have also read Pat Barker's The Ghost Road and Exile by Martin Owton

Overall a good read but very boring ending lets the rest of the book down.

Just started the political biography, Washington: A Life, which I'm enjoying very much.
