I love the Redwall books!
Just finished the sequel to The Dark Lord of Derkhom, Year of the Griffin
which had some weaknesses unfortunately, much as I usually enjoy Diana Wynne Jones' work.
Salamandastron I'm doing a second childhood and enjoying every minute. Being childish with brandy is so good

Surfacing. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show..."Superb wasn't it! Would recommend both "The Handmaid's Tale" (obviously) and "Oryx and Crake"

The Handmaid's Tale is naturally on my list but I hadn't heard of Oryx and Crake - looks intriguing, I'm adding it now. Thanks for the recommendations!

More Tales of the Southern Kingdoms - volume 2 by Barbara G. Tarn
Oh Auntie! by Stephanie Dagg
I'm currently reading Malus Domestica, an urban fantasy/horror book by S.A. Hunt. While horror's not my usual playground (I tend to be more into contemporary fantasy with excursions into sci-fi), it's good so far, and I always appreciate good action heroines.Malus Domestica
Struggling through The Star King. 37% into it. I got this as a freebee and was going to repay the author with a review when I finished it. But I just can't and any review I write would be unfair to the book. The problem isn't the quality of the writing, but that it's a romance in a science fiction jacket. Unfortunately, it's rare that I like a romance and this isn't one of them. Also, there are a couple of small science errors in the yarn.
Romance lovers will probably like this story. It follows the "formula", the characters are well-developed, the guy is a strong "hunk" (as required for the romance genre), and the writing is solid.
If I were still in the publishing business and this was a submission, I'd recommend it to the bosses.
But I'm gonna drop it.

Finished Diana Wynne Jones' first children's book, Wilkins' Tooth which was published in the States as "Witch's Business".
Just started two new books: the fourth book of the Restoration series: "Dawn's Light", and a thriller named "Text".

I have no heartburn with that as long as the buyer is aware of what s/he's buying. It should be in the romance category.
