Rose | 633 comments I just finished The Martian by Andy Weir . It's orange!
p.s. I love that book.

Still working on The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco

message 602: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) @Juliana Thanks. :) I see you managed to fit them in. I'm glad I can help.

@Catherine. He had lung inflammation and had to have antibiotics injections and some other medicines via inhalation. Doctors thought it would be better if we were under constant care instead of driving 3 times a day to a hospital for him to receive treatment. (I hope I used all correct English terms/words.)

message 603: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 5067 comments wow! was it bronchitis or a sinus infection that started it? yes....staying in hospital is definitely better when you have to have multiple daily treatments...

yes...your English was all good :)

message 604: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 5067 comments ok..I'm working on The Divorce Papers A Novel by Susan Rieger for pink...plus it's 496 or so pgs :) we still need purple though...I am looking for one...but does anyone else have purple?

message 605: by Juliana (new)

Juliana Rodrigues (julianamfrodrigues) | 1748 comments Agnès wrote: "@Juliana I'm sorry, but I can't seem to get into The Girl with All the Gifts! We will have to find another book for the orange colour."

That's ok Agnès. No problem!

@Rose, The Martian is on my TBR.

@Dragana, I hope that he gets better and don't need more time in the hospital.

@Catherine, great! I'm working on a 'direction word' book. But I'll take a look and see if I found any purple cover that sounds interesting.

Juliana Rodrigues (julianamfrodrigues) | 1748 comments Sophie wrote: "Top: The Lady of the Rivers In progress
Left side: this Magic moment
Right: shadow sorceress READ
Bottom: the well of lost plots

I've got all the books on tbr pile. Just a chase of reading them now!"

@Sophie, the title of the book 'Shadow Sorceress' has actually a THE on the beginning The Shadow Sorceress. And according to the rules it can't be ignored. So we have to find another way to do the Chimney quest.

message 607: by Catherine (last edited Dec 09, 2014 11:52PM) (new)

Catherine | 5067 comments hw about Sisters of Treason...but then we need a book that starts with "t" and ends with "n" instead

or we could use this book and find 3 others to go with it or move the chimney around :)

message 608: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 5067 comments how about Bottom...Tears of the Moon
and Right..Sisters of Treason

this would be th minimum change unless you guys want something else? :) I have to read both these anyway

@Catherine, I found three book that we already read that combine with the Sisters of Treason. :)

It will be like this:

Top: The Shadow SorceresS - read
Left side: The Rose ProjecT - read
Right: Sisters of TreasoN
Bottom: The Little Christmas KitcheN - read

What do you think?

message 610: by Juliana (last edited Dec 10, 2014 12:27AM) (new)

Juliana Rodrigues (julianamfrodrigues) | 1748 comments Ops, I was trying to create another one and didn't see that you had post other option...

Both ways is fine for me. :)

message 611: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) @Rose: I keep hearing great things about The Martian. I must find time to read it soon.

@Catherine: He did not have bronchitis or sinus infection. Doctors are still not sure what started it. First they thought that it was some virus 'mikoplasma pneumonia' but test results came back negative. Then they thought it was allergic reaction to dust or something like it - but allergy test results are all good too (except for Spinach which he still does not eat so...). Yesterday they took some blood samples to examine levels of Vitamin D.

@Juliana: I don't think more hospital time will be needed. He is all better now. Like new. :)

I am looking what we need for a quest and seems like we miss 'skinny (100-125 pages)' book. I can find something that fits that criteria if we still need it.

message 612: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 5067 comments I'll read Sisters of Treason if someone reads The Martian :)

message 613: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 5067 comments I don't have The Martian, but I'm reading the other one anyway, and if you want me to still read Tears of the Moon, I can do that too :)

message 614: by Juliana (new)

Juliana Rodrigues (julianamfrodrigues) | 1748 comments @Dragana, yes, we still need a skinny book. Now I only have books 125+ pages... If you have a book that you would like to read, it'd be great.

I have a fair number of short books on my tbr. Can Once Upon a Rhyme (Charming, #1) by Jack Heckel work?

message 617: by Juliana (new)

Juliana Rodrigues (julianamfrodrigues) | 1748 comments Dragana wrote: "... I have a fair number of short books on my tbr. Can Once Upon a Rhyme by Jack Heckel work? ..."

I do think so.

@Kelly can you confirm to us if this is a valid book for the challenge?

message 618: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments The 100-125 is inclusive so 100 pages and 125 pages are valid.

message 619: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Great, thank you Kelly. :)

message 620: by Rose (new)

Rose | 633 comments Finished The Name of the Rose.

Also, both it and the Martian are BR's right now, so if you guys want to read the Martian there are some fun discussions happening.

Dragana - glad to hear your little one is better!

Juliana - thanks for sorting that out - somehow my kindle had it saved without the 'The'.

Been feverish and ill for the last few days, which has combined with starting a new job to wipe me out completely - feeling back to about 80% so will be around a bit more again.

Just updating books read info atm.

Great Agnès, and if I'm not mistake avant can work as a direction word.
Since I've just finished In Too Deep, we completed the Find the Missing Elf quest. :D

@Catherine, you don't have to read Head Over Heels right now, you can take your time. :)

Catherine | 5067 comments finished Death of a Dowager.

working on pink cover...should finish tomorrow, and Sisters of Treason should be finished shortly after :)

message 637: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Finished Once Upon a Rhyme (Charming, #1) by Jack Heckel !!! And it was fun, twisting elements of different fairy tales.

What do we need more for the quest? Purple cover?
Looking trough the books I own. And I am seriously lacking purple covers... What do you think, can some of these work:
Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis The Tower Broken (Tower and Knife Trilogy, #3) by Mazarkis Williams Hidden (Dragonlands, #1) by Megg Jensen

message 638: by Juliana (new)

Juliana Rodrigues (julianamfrodrigues) | 1748 comments Dragana, the cover of Stitching Snow Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis is gorgeous! But I think the white previous there.

The Tower Broken (Tower and Knife Trilogy, #3) by Mazarkis Williams definitely has enough purple, and maybe Hidden (Dragonlands, #1) by Megg Jensen can work, but we would better check with the mods first.
I'll ask and let you know.

message 639: by Trinity (new)

Trinity Sorry I have not been posting lately, but I will be starting How to Save A Life by Sara Zarr once I get home today.

Stitching Snow would be my first choice, but I am afraid that it has too much white too. Hopefully Hidden (Dragonlands, #1) by Megg Jensen can work, because I am not in a mood for The Tower Broken (Tower and Knife Trilogy, #3) by Mazarkis Williams .

Juliana Rodrigues (julianamfrodrigues) | 1748 comments @Dragana, let's wait the mods answer.

Yep! Hidden (Dragonlands, #1) by Megg Jensen the mods are ok with it for purple!! :)

Great. I'm reading it next then. :)

message 649: by Juliana (new)

Juliana Rodrigues (julianamfrodrigues) | 1748 comments Hi team! Thanks for the update.

Esther, the only three spots that weren't read yet already has people working on it. That would be Dragana with a purple cover, and Catherine with a pink cover and a title beginning with S and ending with N. If you have any book that covers one of this points talk to the girls and see if you can cover for one of them.

message 650: by Trinity (new)

Trinity I'm not sure how much reading I will get on today because it is my birthday. I will try and start a book but may finish it tomorrow.
