See list of animals at link or list of animals on SS...

Tammie OK...I found 4 books I want to read for 'tricky' next week....I have other choices, so if I've taken something that you want, just leave a comment here...
See SS...does this format work for everyone to pick/claim books??
Just highlight the animal you plan to read for...

Other ideas/suggestions for strategy...please leave word...

message 304: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shelld79) | 288 comments I'm going to claim an easy one to start as next week is super busy for me and I might not get to anything else if that's ok? I'm going to use The Dog with the Old Soul by Jennifer Basye Sander as my animal one (sorry, I'm on my tablet so can't tag the book right now).

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I am away the moment and reception is kinda sketchy. I am currently sitting outside the cabin in the only place that seems to have reception. So I will essentially be offline for the next 24 hours or so

message 306: by Ambi (new)

Ambi | 615 comments Since books count either for the main challenge or the mini challenge what do you want us to contribute to most?

The mini makes it easier to get points or that's what I thought.

Lol, I was thrown by the pet skunk on that list. It was just so random!

message 311: by Tammie (new)

Tammie We get the most points if we use our books for the mini AND we only use an animal once.

Here's a helpful clarification response from a Mod that I thought I'd pass on:

The question was whether the animal had to be spelled precisely...
Response:

the wording exactly* please

*spaces/hyphens/plurals/possessives excepted.
ie honey bees, honeybee, honey-bee all OK
bee (or indeed honey) not OK

Nikk...I hope you are enjoying you 'offline-ness'...don't mind us workin' folk here back at the farm...we got you covered :)
...oops...I guess if you are offline you aren't really getting this are you...teehee!

message 313: by Tammie (new)

Tammie I'm going to attempt to keep up a list of 'claimed' animals...anyone...feel free to update this list as we go along...also the SS. Michelle...I highlighted you for the dog...woof🐶

message 321: by Tammie (last edited Oct 18, 2019 11:08AM) (new)

Tammie OK...here's 3 ways to find words in books

1. Google Books app
if you just type in the word in the search it will take you to books with the word in the title or text. If you want a specific book...let's say a romance, type in: love, kiss and then bull shark
https://books.google.com/

2. If you own an actual Kindle
There is a search feature in your Kindle that will search all the books you have for the word...I did this for every book on my 'read' list for 'tricky' animals. I'll do it for the easy ones later today...so take a look again for options we may have in common.

3. This doesn't work for everything....Amazon
This would be a specific book search. If the book is sold on Amazon in hardback or paperback...go to that version. You'll see a 'look inside' flag on the picture of the book. Click on that and you can search the book for a specific word.

Let me know if you have questions...happy hunting!

Green enough? I was planning to put this for sin bingo but no one from other teams have read it this year, at least according to the information in the SS. :)

Tina ❣ (nutrinut) | 2010 comments I think the version that you’ve posted is not green enough but I know there’s other editions that are +50% green on the cover
I was planning on reading it at some point

message 331: by Tina ❣ (new)

Tina ❣ (nutrinut) | 2010 comments White Gardenia has these animals so far:
Snake, Kangaroo, Sheep, Spider, Lizard, Bird, Cat, Possum, koala, Rabbit, Chickens, Cat
They're all easy
I don't have locations/pages as it's audio

Ambi | 615 comments Cecily wrote: "How are %? I am currently reading a 6th book and will be able to read a few more this weekend."

We are supposed to read 48 books a week, amirite?

message 333: by Tammie (new)

Tammie Status...we are in the zone for our average. We could read another 11 books (not yet recorded) and be fine...note the lines on the SS...I'll try to color those so they are easier to see.

Our official range is 30-46 books per week. We are at 34.

Speaking of ...we are under the 2 day mark grasshoppers...please get anything you are going to finish on the SS...please make sure finish dates, links, TT shelves are all up to date...
COUNTDOWN FOR WEEK 2 FINISH !

An audio...just record the chapter when you come to it...I think that will be sufficient. Lots of choices for sure....so maybe don't claim just in case someone needs...you can indicate whatever when you finish.

Tammie Ambi...I'm sorry this was such a poor book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
I hate when that happens :(

message 349: by Ambi (new)

Ambi | 615 comments Ugh yeah. I can’t believe people thought it was a good book. The characters had no depth and it felt like a weird combo of Divergent and Selection. I’m glad it’s over now. c:

message 350: by Ambi (new)

Ambi | 615 comments Quick question. Will I get 45 for pig because the animal comes 7 times in the book? Just asking so that I can choose books like this next time.
