It's not about a ghost, per se, but did you read The Truth about Mary Rose? It seems to fall within your bailiwick.

It's one of those books which I picked up having completely forgotten I had read it before, and it all came flooding back. It's creepy, but in a non-paranormal way. A girl is obsessed with her aunt, who died in a fire years before she was born.

It's available in Open Library.
