Great task! Question: Is the following cover blue enough to be used for the Europe task? It has a bluish sky in the upper right corner. Thanks!

Question...One Plus One takes place in UK but there is nowhere in the book description that states the setting specifically. Is it enough that the author is British - stated loud and clear on the front gr page of the book? Can we assume a British author wrote a book set in her country which is why the setting is not mentioned?
Kim wrote: "Question...One Plus One takes place in UK but there is nowhere in the book description that states the setting specifically. Is it enough that the author is British - stated loud..."
Yes this works. I found a description on Amazon that says it takes place in England and Scotland.

Thank you! Just in case, I did find another one I thought was questionable...
this takes place in Russia, so - Europe - I guess it's supposed to be a black/white cover but it has that overall blue tint, would you consider that as blue?
Thanks again!

Good to hear that! Sure looks like one that I will enjoy.
Does either one of these have enough Purple for Australia? I can't tell on my computer but her dress might be purple.

I am not getting any blue on my monitor so I am going to say no to this one.
Jamie wrote: "Does this cover work for Red/South America
The story involves a trip to a resort in Brazil.
Thanks!"
As long as at least 50% of the book is in South America it works.

Yes both work.
Hi! Is the font red enough in state or in Ann Patchett or could I maybe use the snakes for South America? Thank you!!
Great task Bluemoon! I got 3,5,6 and have a few ideas but struggling at the moment with the 2/3 new to me. Thought I'd start by checking these two options....
For Yellow North America
For Red South America
- I thought Ann Patchett was new to me until I saw Elizabeth's post above which reminded me I have read State of Wonder!

In the game of Risk each of the continents are a different color. Using the colors below and a few other rules can you conquer three continents and rule the world?
First roll three dice - dice roller. If you roll doubles or triples, keep rolling until you get 3 different numbers. Then using the pairings below select the books you will read for this challenge:
1. GREEN - ASIA
2. BLUE - EUROPE
3. YELLOW - NORTH AMERICA
4. ORANGE - AFRICA
5. RED - SOUTH AMERICA
6. PURPLE - AUSTRALIA (OCEANIA)
THE RULES OF THE GAME
1. The books that you read must be set on the continents (at least 50%) that correspond to your die rolls. This must be evident on the book's home page (description or setting) or verifiable by an outside source. If by an outside source, you must provide a link to the source.
To determine which countries are on which continents, we will use this list
2. The cover of the book must have something on it that corresponds to the continent's color pairing. For example
3. Each book should be written by a single author. At least 2 of the 3 authors that you read must be new to you.
4. Your three books must combine to a total of at least 1050 pages.
NOTE: ebooks without print versions cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages. If you read an ebook or audiobook use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.
POSTING REQUIREMENTS
1. State the numbers that you rolled. Don't forget to post a link to any outside sources for book setting.
2. Post all covers and point out the object that matches your continent's color.
3. State which authors are new to you.
4. State the number of pages in each book. Be sure to link to the actual edition that you read for the task.
Good luck on your quest to conquer the world!!!
