I'm sorry I have read this post and the rules for challenges post but I can't find an answer and it's getting late here so there is a big chance that I have missed it somewhere. Whats the page count for a non-illustrated adult book for claiming letters? I thought it was 200 but when I read a small book to make up the pages for a book with 180 points Sarah said on my review post that I didn't need to as the first book made the page count.

The minimum page count for claiming letters is 200 pages. Otherwise in order for a non-illustrated adult book to count it's just 50 pages. You may add two books under 200 pages together to claim bonus points, but if you do that you must pick one title/author to claim letters from, you can't mix the two. And if you choose to add two books together, each book gets counted as an individual book, so you will get a 2 in the 'books read' column, and each will have individual page counts, but only one title can claim letters.
Does that make more sense? I know it's very confusing XD

We didn't get the point for the 2nd book because it was under 50 pages. But it was worth reading and adding in because it got us the +10 bonuses for letters. :)

I am reading 1 now that will do the same thing but got to get to that 200 pages. :)

Thanks Jamie that's where I got confused. Just making sure I know for the future as i have a book with the perfect title but it's 150 pages so now I know i have to find a book off 50 pages or more so we can use the letters.

Sarah, I am confused over on Shadow for the score. I see where the previous score was off by 3 pts =384. But I have no idea about the edits you did to Izzy's score Added page points and it now shows 40 bonus pts for 3 books... and yet those aren't in the score. Not sure how the pts got there in the first place though.

If I read the series do each letter for thetitle get its on word (like author initial) of just the I?

Also for manga, do we get to count one of the #s as words or the volume/vol? I doubt it but just checking if that counts for the title.

I don't think we've had any anacronyms in titles so far, but as it's written with the dots between each letter, I'll let you count them the same as individual letters (as that's how author's initials sometimes appear and we'd count them separately).

We don't usually count bits that say 'Vol. 1' or 'Volume 2' etc, because that's more of a series title sort of thing, rather than an actual title. So in the same way that if you read Obsidian, you wouldn't be able to use the word Lux from the series name, you wouldn't be able to use the Vol. 1 from a manga novel either ☺
