That's good to know. Keeps me motivated. I look forward to the ending.

Yes :-) I rather like THE BAD PLACE. I've read it 3-4 times. Very mysterious with some nice Sci-Fi elements. I would also recommend COLD FIRE.

I just read the summary and I haven't read Cold Fire yet. Sounds really good.

Cold Fire is one of my very favorites - you will not regret it :-)

Rebecca | 9 comments I just finished Phantoms, one night I had nightmares all night from reading a very descriptive part about the Shape-changer. I really made me think about 'what if'. We as a species don't know everything.

Rebecca | 9 comments Thanks Dustin too, I wasn't aware of this made into a movie I'll have to look out for it.

77 Shadow Street was featured as a group read in August but I didn't get around to reading it. Been meaning to revisit the Pendleton and I plan to this month. Here is the most recent discussion thread:

I don't think I've read Doctor Sleep because I think it is a sequel to a book I haven't read.

I will admit I haven't read as many King Books as I have read Dean Koontz, but I like what I have read.

You are correct. John Saul was my introduction to the horror genre when I was a teenager. I might have to read me some John Saul in the near future for old times sake.

It has to be at least 20 years since I read it. Saul was one of my first authors that I read. Along with King and Koontz. I kind have shied away from Saul and I figured it was time to revisit his work. I am loving this book. I am wondering why I stopped reading his books.

I think John Saul's writing lacks the depth of Dean Koontz and Stephen King, but I still enjoy a fun John Saul Horror Story :-)

John Saul has not published anything new since his 2009 release, House of Reckoning.

That might be the reason why I stopped reading his books. Plus they all seem to involve children. He might be the type of author you visit every now and then instead of one after another.

Julia Bridges | 76 comments I'm just now reading last month's group read - Frankenstein, Dead and Alive because I didn't get around to it in November. I'm also reading Perfect Nightmare by John Saul. The current audiobook I'm listening to in the car is The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.

I love time travel. I watched this movie, but I don't think I read the book - maybe I should. I have read Her Fearful Symmetry by Niffenegger twice.

Mary (broomemarygmailcom) | 377 comments I just finished reading The Taking by Koontz for the second or third time. This time I read several reviews before going in and came out the other end with a whole new respect for what Koontz was doing with this story. Don't know how I missed it the first time. Can't really say more or I think it would be a spoiler. But it was well worth another look for me.

I agree. The Taking has some very interesting ideas to think about :-) We will likely get to re-reading The Taking as a group in 2017 - I noticed it is coming up in the list of books to go on the poll.
