Character named Resnick?

Please help me with my brain cramp. I'm reading a book right now that has a character named Resnick. Wasn't there an In Death character by that name? It is driving me batty and I've struck out with Google. Please forgive me if I spelled the name wrong, I've done this series via audio. Thank you!

All I can come up with is Niles Reinquist (Imitation in Death) and a Detective Renicki from Creation in Death.
