Joan Barnett | 1972 comments Sorry I have been missing in action this week. I'm not exactly sure where this week went.

I did finally finish The Thorn Birds just now. I'm not sure if it would count for anything on this quest.

message 203: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments I finished The Testaments and added it to the spreadsheet along with Rachel's book. I couldn't find a spot to add The Thorn Birds for Joan if anyone else has any ideas.

We need 2 more books or books by authors mentioned in the Read-a-Thon games. If anyone has any childrens books that were mentioned in the Day 8 emoji game, that would be an easy way to knock these two off.

We also need 1 more book published in the same year and 2 more books with the same words in the title.

C (tctcat) | 79 comments I'm an hour from finishing a John Grisham book which is an author from the games.

message 205: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Good morning all!! My suggestion is that we move Errlee's read of The Testaments down to the Read-a-Thon game section and and add The Thorn Birds to the cover prompt. Since the cover shows the backs of people, I would match it with Darius the Great Is Not Okay.

I'm about 60 pages from finishing mine for the title but need to work around life today.

message 206: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments I read a graphic novel that is 277 pages. I don't know if that will count for anything. I read The Prince and the Dressmaker.

We have Errlee's read of The Testaments in the game section now. Do you think we can have Karissa's read of that book in that section too?

I also added The Whistler to the game section as Grisham was mentioned in the 90's kid thread.

I added this to same year (2018). That makes 5 books for matching year and we've completed that section.

C (tctcat) | 79 comments Ok, I just did some rearranging and moved Karissa's read of The Testaments to the same year category, read Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, Her Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed to matching title, and put The Thorn Birds in the cover category.

What's Left
1 books with same title
1 books or authors of books mentioned in Read-A-Thon games.

C (tctcat) | 79 comments Last message for me for a bit - sorry for spamming :)

I have some work to do around the house so I'm going to listen to The Hunger Games as I go. The will work for books mentioned in Read-A-Thon games. I'll be done before the end of the day if we don't finish this first. This has been so much fun and I can't believe how many books we've finished in a week!

message 211: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Just finished The Girl With All the Gifts which share the word "with" with Rendezvous with Rama which is now in the spreadsheet.

I 100% think that Karissa's read of The Testaments should count as our last read. She suggested it in the game long before Quest 4 and there is no rule saying that we can't do duplicate books.

message 212: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Mods, kindly let us know if its okay if we have 2 different people read the same book that was mentioned in the Read-a-Thon games?

If it's okay, we have completed Quest #4.

thanks!!

message 213: by Allegra (new)

Allegra | 158 comments After a quick look around, there does not seem to be a Quest #5, so I guess we're done. That said, I finally finished Catch-22 if there's any way to use it.
Thanks to Brittany, Karissa, and Cali and extra-special thanks to Spreadsheet Queen JenK for all the work they had to put in. It was a fun read-a-thon. Go Brownies!!

Vanessa | 283 comments Hi team!!!
I still working in my books, I hope finish them today.

I think that "Catch-22" was mentioned in the read-a-thon game.

message 215: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments I just noticed on the spreadsheet that my read of The Testaments was moved into both Same Year and Read-a-thon categories and was being double counted. So I left it in same year and added Allegra's read of Catch-22 for the read-a-thon as I had mentioned in the #5 - 90s kid book tag game. So no need for clarification from the mods and Team Brownie has officially completed Quest#4! Great job team, it's been a fun read-a-thon.

Vanessa | 283 comments Good job team !!!!

Finally I didn't finish my current books, but I really enjoyed working with you.

message 217: by Errlee (new)

Errlee | 183 comments Feel like I dropped off a bit at the end there. Weekend chores got the better of me and I never managed to finish Firestarter. But had a great time participating in my first ever read-a-thon and being part of a team! Super impressed with how well we did.

message 218: by Rachel (new)

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3287 comments I finished off That's Not What Happened, and read just under 50 pages of The Truth About Happily Ever After

message 219: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 572 comments Congratulations everyone!! Thanks for the great team effort which made this so fun!

Special shout out to Cali for the amazing spreadsheets!!
