When I Lost You: A gripping, heart breaking novel of lost love.4* from me. I thought it was clever, and sweet, but not necessarily 'gripping'.

Just about to start another NG--did read a couple read4reviews--but this next one releases this month:The Emperor's Railroad
I like getting in on the ground floor with fantasy series. Takes place a thousand years after a zombie-plague. lol

I'm reading "Everyone Brave is Forgiven," but I'm having the same problem with it as I did "The Trouble with Goats and Sheep" and "Jane Steele." All perfectly fine, reviewer acclaimed, books, but I cannot seem to connect to them.

which is very goo..."Really? I was looking at that one, forget if I requested. It's either pending or declined, I've not looked. But what is the nature of the obsession that is causing you not to like it?
Ooh Jane Steele was one I wanted but was declined for. Which doesn't matter actually because I'm 3rd in line on Overdrive for it. I simply figured to get NG credit for it cause I'll be reading and reviewing it anyways. But, @Abby and others in general, If you find yourself quitting and moving on to the next book, do you go back and finish later? Or chalk it off as a DNF? If latter, what do you do to make it "done" on NG?
I ask because some of the comments here seem to infer that people are quicker to ditch books then others. Is that accurate? Or do most people return to the book and finish eventually?
As for what I'm reading, trying to bust through the books being published next week that I got.Finished In the Light of What We See, Daughters of the Silk Road, Three Minutes to Midnight and within the past hour: GodPretty in the Tobacco Field

You had me laughing and now wanting to read it. I just have trouble being patient. Much nicer to come across completed series. Or at least ones with a good start.
Megalion,I finished reading To Terminator With Love a couple days ago. It was a breeze, as long as you're in the mood for something bright and easy to love.

Ooh very good to hear. Since it's the 27th, I'll read the other two first. I'm well into the Honeysuckle one right now. Hoping to stay with easier stuff for a bit longer. Even if it's a good literary piece, can still be a big difference!
I have a few that are gone by--have been since I got them, one was 2012! It was a really good, fun to re-read picture book called:Alphabet Everywhere

It was good to snag some short ones, and picture books, they can raise your numbers quickly. (Learned that in here.)
Definitely on the last. Using willpower to resist knocking some of those out to help restore some percentage. Till I finish the last week of April set. But fortunately they've been around 200-300 pages and 4 star quality. My other main group on GR, Play Book Tags, is voting for next month's tag right now. One is graphic novels. I've at least three there so will save those till after vote completes on 23rd. If it doesn't win, I'm going to hit those up immediately. I'm still new to the genre but think they'll be good for more FAST reads.
Got my NG up to 15% yesterday! Then it dropped by 1 overnight as I was given Five Roses. Lol. Can't be sorry about it, looks like another good 4 star at least.

I don't record DNF on goodreads. If for some reason I really can't stomach a book, I write a note to the publisher as feedback, and either give it a star rating based on what part I did read, or leave the star rating blank.
For the most part, I'll give a book five or more tries before writing it off as a DNF. Sometimes I just need a break, and I enjoy the book much more the second time. One book I started over and wound up giving 5 stars. Other times, I find something I can't get over. I DNF one book because within the first two chapters a dead guy shot a gun and a car chase ensued that defied the laws of physics. I can't look past those kind of mistakes.

Beyond the Ice Limit
5 Stars for this stand-alone sci-fi thriller/chiller. It's cheesy like John Carpenter's 'The Thing' but I couldn't put it down.

Got this yesterday from Net Galley, and it takes place in Rome, Krakow, Brussels and London. There's an organization called the Movement for the Creation of a New World and they have stolen new technology from a covert wing of the Vatican--which can make anyone believe in the Holy Spirit. Or evil incarnate. It's off to a powerful, if unsavory, start. Don't eat the white meat.
