Final Cut by S.J. WatsonFinished reading
Imperfect Women by Araminta Hall. I can't say that I loved it, but I believe that it will haunt me for some time. https://www.instagram.com/p/CFG0xuAAj...my webpage https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...

Naomi Novik's new ya fantasy is good fun, set in a sentient school where there are no teachers and the main aim is to survive to graduate.
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik, review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished Ronald Balson’s Eli’s Promise
My least favorite of his books. Here’s a link to my review:

Memories of Wild Rose Bay: An Utterly Uplifting and Gripping Irish Romance by Susanne O'Leary after I Finished
Final Cut by S.J. Watson which I didn't think was anywhere near as good as Second Life Check out my review on my webpage https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This was an enjoyable romantic fantasy that just needed a bit more development to be excellent.
The Midnight Bargain by C.L. Polkreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My first Ann Cleeves book was the terrific The Darkest Evening. I know and love Vera from the TV series and am now a fan of her original self.
5★ LInk to my "Darkest Evening" review

Memories of Wild Rose Bay: An Utterly Uplifting and Gripping Irish Romance by Susanne O'Leary, a pleasant but predictable Irish romance. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just finished
by Michelle Adams. Star-crossed lovers Elizabeth Davenport and Thomas Hale were separated by lies and circumstances. . I was eager to read the story as the comparison titles and description made it sound intriguing. That being said, I had a hard time connecting with the characters and preferred to stay in the 'now' rather than then. When long-awaited characters made their appearance, it didn't live up to the build up and the emotional connection seemed surface level rather than emotional.

Looking forward to reading
I just finished listening to The Birds That Stay
I continue to have problems listening to books on the netgalley shelf. But the book itself was a solid four stars. Here’s a link to my review:
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished Danielle Steel's
rating it 3 instead of 4 stars as I had difficult with the opening chapters.
My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My opinion is that you need to care about Meredith before meeting Jack and Debbie. A short flashback providing context provides readers reason to care about the couple's deceit.
Ready to start Shelia Roberts One Charmed Christmas
This is an unusual historical novel about a young Chinese woman in Japanese occupied China in WW2, told from the point of view of three ghosts.
A Single Swallow by Ling Zhangreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Anchors aweigh, Shelia Roberts affords readers to set sail on a holiday, European cruise. Boarding the ship, the travelers are grappling with difficult decisions that they leave ashore. Will this charming Christmas voyage be just the ticket to ring in the holidays or will a Grinch keep love at bay?

Seven Days in Summer by Marcia WillettI couldn't put this down!
The Last to Know by Jo Furniss by Jo Furnisshttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show... https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
The Best of Friends by Lucinda BerryThis isn't a thriller, but it is a lovely warm hearted read about three generations of a family. There are secrets, a little mystery, some romance, an unrequited attraction, some dodgy artwork, an epiphany or two, and a vacuum cleaner named Henry.

TODAY ONLY!! Truly, Madly Plaid by Eliza Knight will be available on NG's "Read Now" romance link. She's one of my fav Scottish historical romance authors. I'm assuming starting tomorrow it will be switched to the "Request Now" section where the publisher has to approve each one. That's what was done with the first book of this series.
If you can stomach the violence, Tsarina
is a well done historical fiction. Here’s a link to my review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I realized that I prefer graphic novels and manga as arc since I can read them faster. I have a few titles from Kodansha and Oni Press. I also spotted a new asexual book so I had to request it immediately.
Got to one of my old ones.Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy (Cold River Ranch, #2) by Caitlin Crews
My review - 3 Stars

This is a terrific, informative eye-catching graphic book for kids, teens, adults - folx - with advice and actions for everybody: This Book Is Anti-Racist: 20 Lessons on How to Wake Up, Take Action, and Do the Work by Tiffany Jewell. It should be in all schools and libraries.

Finished two books in the last couple of days:
The Wife Who Knew Too Much by Michele Campbell https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...my webpage https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
The Killings at Kingfisher Hill by Sophie Hannah https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...my webpage https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
I've enjoyed articles by Ta-Nehisi Coates and wish I'd liked The Water Dancer as much as everybody else has. The slave trade was (and still is) appalling.

Sandy, I'm glad you enjoyed the novel! I was captivated by Riley's writing and looking forward to reading another of her books! Sandy *The world could end while I was reading and I would never notice* wrote: "Finished the beautiful and spellbinding family saga

Just finished 'The Girl Without a Name' and it's appropriately titled!
Until the second section, I was looking forward to writing the review and sharing that I endorsed the book. Where I can understand the author's reasoning depicting dissociation and PTSD, I I was shocked by what transpired. While I was fuming about the chain of events, I encourage readers to finish the final chapters before making your decision. You'll have to read #TheGirlWithoutaName to discover the truth.

Looking forward to reading Jill Shalvis' 'The Forever Girl' next!
I am another enthusiastic fan of Graham Brack and his mystery series. Dishonour and Obey is the third outing with Master Mercurius, who investigates a murder for colourful English King Charles II. This is the way to learn history so you remember it!
4★ Link to my review of Dishonour and Obey
Igifu means hunger, and Scholastique Mukasonga's five stories show what a weapon it is.

Just finished and enjoyed 'The Forever Girl!'
Shalvis expertly weaves in the past to present why the friends are guarding secrets. The only problem with finishing the book, it will feel like 'forever' waiting for her next novel!

The Girl She Wanted by K.L. Slater https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Good Girl, Bad Girl by great Aussie crime-writer Michael Robotham just won him his second Golden Dagger Award. The second in the series, When She Was Good is very, very good, and the bad guys were absolutely horrid!
5★ Link to my review of "When She Was Good"
If you're from a rev-head family, you'll want this little book for the kids. Ayrton Senna has often been called the greatest racing driver ever.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm reading The Pretenders but I can't decide if I like it or not. It's a bit too angsty and the way she purposely keeps the reader in the dark and misled is a bit annoying.
Loved the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Housewarming by S.E. Lynes https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
The Pretenders 4 starshttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Quite enjoyed it after a lukewarm start. Literary fiction and domestic violence but in an unexpected way.
I just finished Leave No Trace

Just finished reading 'Tsarina'
Striving to stay alive, Marta became a tour de force aligning with powerful leaders while speaking her mind. Reading the novel during this tumultuous time, Catherine's steely determination will resonate with readers.
