Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments Connie and Almeta, you are both high up in the stars. Glad your books shone brightly!

message 102: by Lucy (new)

Lucy Furr (lucyfurr) | 775 comments Finished Gone Girl over the weekend. Man, that book straight pissed me off. LOL The only thing I really liked about it was the end...those two crazies deserve each other!

message 103: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments Can you imagine any children they might have? Scary!

message 104: by Lucy (new)

Lucy Furr (lucyfurr) | 775 comments Ugh, I don't even want to think about that!

message 105: by Lilisa (new)

Lilisa | 2770 comments Did as Madame Tutti Fruitti commanded - finished Memed, My Hawk. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

message 106: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments One should always do as Madame Tutti Fruiti commands. :)

message 107: by Tejas Janet (new)

Tejas Janet (tejasjanet) | 3513 comments Well, I'm attempting to get thru The Sea, the Sea,

but it seems the waves are preventing me.

I guess it is to be my fate

to finish this book after the Halloween date.

I really feel bad for any children they have. Poor babies will be treated like pawns I'm sure.

message 109: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments Perserver, TJ. The winds may change and fill your sail!

I just finished reading Still Missing and it reminded me of Gone Girl. I'm trying to word this without it becoming a spoiler. It kind of addresses children raised by mentally ill people.

message 111: by Lori Z (new)

Lori Z | 2086 comments Thank you, Madame Tutti Fruitti, for reuniting me with old friends by having me read The Winding Ways Quilt. I have enjoyed this series, but have not read it for awhile. I'm so glad you got me back on track and look forward to reading more of this series. You and that bowl of spaghetti were right on target! :)

message 112: by KimeyDiann (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments Still Missing sounds interesting, Janice. I'm adding it to my TBR list.

This group has caused me to add even more books to my tbr than I normally do! LOL. I didn't think I could get much more carried away adding books than I already was... you wonderful people have proved that wrong! LOL :D

message 113: by Debra (new)

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments I read Southern Gods and there was certainly a big boy getting away with a God's evil work. He was definitely nothing but a rotter, making people do despicable things while listening to his music, possessing people, and raising the dead. I confess to the God Mithras that I will be on the side of the good Gods and shun the evil Gods.

message 114: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments Wear whatever protective amulet you may have, Debra. They will help ward off those evil gods.

Another one added to the old wishlist!

message 115: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments An Odd choice for me this month. From one with psychic abilities (Madame Tutti Fruiti) to another (Odd Thomas) - I spy favouritism there! But I am glad you were drawn to a fellow mystic because Odd Thomas is a fascinating guy, with some great skills. It was a great first book in the series. I envisage more Odd in my future with Forever Odd and beyond... Thank you!

message 116: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments Birds of a feather, as they say, Sarah! I envision Odd in my future too, as I have added yet another book to my wishlist.

Yep, a 5-star read!

message 119: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Dear Madame Tutti Frutti, you predicted the other books I selected would lead me astray, but in the end that was caused by many other factors. However, I managed to keep my focus and finished Yellow Crocus just in time.

message 120: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments My second sight tells me it was the toppler that distracted you Peggy. :)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments And once again you are completely correct in your assumptions!

message 123: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 2100 comments I had to risk the wrath of Madame Tutti Fruiti and finish Piippo ja verhotut totuudet as my third book, although it should have been the last of the five. I guess I'm more scared of the Library Dragonlady!

message 124: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments Do not be afraid of Madame Tutti Fruiti. She is no dragon, but a pussy cat.

Like a light, Madam's words have illuminated the way
thru the long night 'til almost break of day.
Page after page, the straining mast did sorely bend
Until I sailed The Sea, the Sea clear thru to reach the very end.

I did it! Thanks for the encouragement : )
Interesting book, if a bit wordy.

message 126: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments Not sure if I'm even going to read my first Madame Tutti Fruiti book. Still reading my Toppler books that I didn't finish. Plus whatever virus I had during the Toppler has turned into tonsillitis, so I've been in bed doing lots of sleeping too. Maybe I'll read my Tutti Fruiti books in November instead. :-)

It reminds me of something I read once where the MC always talked in ryhme, but I cannot remember what it was. Some days my mind can compose that way, but most of the time not alas. I hated it in school when the teacher told us we had to write a poem, and even worse, what kind of poem it had to be. I love to get the GR newsletter every month. The first thing I do is go to the end to see the poem!

message 130: by Sue Q (new)

Sue Q | 334 comments Just like Elsbeth, I was able to get 4 out of 5 as well! Here's my new update

Definitely 4 books I wouldn't have read if it hadn't been for this challenge! Thanks Madame!

message 131: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments Love your rhymes, TJ! I'm glad you made it through.

Gale, so sorry that you have been sick. October was a busy month with the Toppler, and then to get sick on top of it all!! Get better soon.

You did well, Sue Q.

Why not read your first Tutti Fruiti book now?

Then read your unread Toppler-opoly books.

message 134: by Tejas Janet (new)

Tejas Janet (tejasjanet) | 3513 comments Gail, maybe put aside reading for any challenges or uncompleted challenges or anything else for now. Just get well. And if you feel like reading, then read something you feel like reading. Get well soon :)

message 135: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments Thanks, Janice and Tejas Janet. :) Tejas Janet, I thought of reading my tutti fruiti book now, but I'm reading in bed and I read in bed without my glasses on, which means I have to read from a small ereader like my Kobo Mini so I can put it close to my face and still see the whole page, and the first book of my tutti fruiti challenge is a paper book. But the Toppler book I'm reading is on my Kobo Mini and I am enjoying it, so am reading a bit each day. :)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments I just realized I never reported Euphoria which I read for the Toppler . Need to write a review still. But thanks for the pick.

message 137: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4026 comments Prediction: Maybe Someday you'll realize that Eleanor & Park are not Real. These Broken Stars flickering around in my crystal ball warn of the Insanity of trying to make friends with them.

Maybe Someday did dawn for me, Madame Tutti Frutti. But your prediction about Eleanor & Park scared me away and I could not make friends with them (or maybe it was the toppler :p)

message 138: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments It's a good thing, then, that you read Maybe Someday first. :)

message 139: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I swear I posted a comment in here last night. Looks like not though. I read mine. I will edit this post later.

message 140: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to post badges. A friend is taking me out for supper and a concert of twin pianos playing classical music. And starting tomorrow at 9:00, I'll be at a quilt retreat until Sunday. I'll try to sneak them in during some spare moment. I do come home every night from the quilt retreat, so I'll see.

message 141: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4026 comments Quilt retreat. I have never heard of anything like that. Sounds fun.

message 142: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments There will be about 30 of us working on our own quilt projects for an intensive 4 days. It starts at 9:00 tomorrow morning and ends about 4:00 on Sunday. I have a couple of projects on the go. I hope to have at least the tops done. I'll post pictures - maybe. :)

message 143: by Elsbeth (new)

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) | 1152 comments Don't worry about the badges, Janice.
Just have fun quilting (maybe you can post a picture when you have something finished - a quilt I mean?)! What will you be making?

message 144: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments I'm working on a quilt that gives you the illusion that it's a maze. I have all the blocks sewn. I just need to square them up and sew them together and then put borders on it.

The second project is one of my own creation. I've been looking a pictures lately of what are being called "modern quilts" with lots of negative space. I'm going to make small approx. 4-1/2" blocks and set them amongst white squares so that they look like they're floating. I'm excited!

Oh! I admire people who can quilt! It is such amount of work!

message 147: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments The badges are posted!

Please check your walls and make sure I haven't missed you or posted your badge on someone else's wall. We have lots of duplicate names and it's getting harder to make sure the badges get on the right wall.

In order to earn a badge, you must have completed one of the books that Madame Tutti Fruiti predicted you would read.

Theresa~OctoberLace (octoberlace) | 1090 comments Fabulous badge! I loved my MTF read, too. Thanks, Janice.

Janice, I didn't get mine. I know there's another Lori so possibly it's misplaced? Ironically enough, Madame Tutti Fruitti had me read a book about quilting, lol.
