Thank you, both! I love being a grandmother. When they act up I can just give 'em Bach to Mommy & Daddy! But I hadn't realized that sure is the sad sack plot line to those movies, and I wrote it! And Jemppu mentioned the ads with the Joker...I can't even look at those! What IS it about clowns?! Maybe I could become somebody's neurotic case study ; )

Horror isn't really my genre, and the slasher portion of it even less so. I'm not gonna really miss any one of those. Still if I had to pick I'd probably go with ax murderers, they seem like the most straightforward and least imaginative of horror tropes, in part because they're the most realistic.
This particular list maker is too petrified of them to think about them being prominent character types and has therefore completely dissociated from the concept in its entirety.
LOL Allison, I like your husband’s logic.I don’t have any strong opinions, but I think I’ll support the removal of axe murderers for a similar reason to what Melani said. The other 3 have so many more options for murder and mayhem whereas an axe murderer by definition has only one permitted murder method. I'd rather have some variety in my murder and mayhem.
Poltergeists. The only time I've ever enjoyed them was Ghostbusters. I don't think they're scary or fun or anything. The other options can lead to a good time, but not the ghosts.

XD I like it, YouKneeK, this is the sort of advice I am always looking for!
Aw, Phil, no Peeves?
Sandy and Alex, thank you for helping balance the votes!
LOL Diane. I just pictured you Van Helsing-style banishing all the clowns and teenagers.

O_O
Ok... I'm gonna say Millennium Falcon. I love Star Wars and Han Solo and all, but I've always thought it was a stupidly designed ship...
You can excommunicate me from SFdom, but I have to say Serenity.I never understood the hype for this series.
Millennium Falcon was my first love.
Enterprise has so many different designs that I like some of them even though I'm no fan of the original design (plus it is cult)
And even though I never got into Whovian fandom space I appreciate the cult status surrounding the TARDIS.

Ok, I'm finally putting my foot down. NOPE. NONE OF THESE CAN GO. I'm going to take my toys and LEAVE. HOW VERY DARE YOU.
All kidding aside, I can't even think of one I'd let go in a "well if I must choose" kind of way. I'm not even a casual Dr. Who fan (it's fine, I guess but whatever), but to get rid of the T.A.R.D.I.S. still feels like you're destroying a big part of nerd culture. I mean, these are (for the most part, Firefly is still pretty new) bedrocks for fanish culture. The individual ships are so much more then just ships. They're the crews and the shows that were built around them.
hahaha! I got a good chuckle out of your first paragraph, Melani!
I know! I can't pick either, which is how I know I've stumbled on a good one :)

I'll second Gabi and say Serenity. Millennium Falcon, Enterprise, and TARDIS are icons from series that have been around for decades and have influenced generations of fans. Serenity isn't in the same category, in my opinion.
Here, I'll help. And by help, I mean make a bunch of people mad at me:
"I'm a leaf on the wind."
"What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived."
"Rose Tyler, I l--"
"I know"

Oh, yes, that's much better...
I think I'd say Millennium Falcon, because it feels like it's the least connected to the characters in a way. It might be because the other 3 are from TV series rather than movies, but they're very much the characters' homes and we see/feel that. Whereas the Falcon is certainly Han and Chewie's home for a time, but we don't actually see it in that context on screen, and it seems to exist as more of a plot device.
I’ll go with The Millennium Falcon. Until reading Colleen’s response, I didn’t even know what that was from. I did watch some of the Star Wars movies years ago, but for some reason it never grabbed me. I usually get more invested in TV shows than movies.Star Trek was what first drew me into science fiction, and I also really liked Firefly. I haven’t watched Dr. Who, but I’d like to watch it someday and I expect I would probably enjoy it from what little I've heard.
Have to say Serenity Millennium Falcon was the epitome of Han and Chewie, rough around the edges but gold under the covers.
No one can touch the enterprise "whose XXX mission is to ..." No way!
And T.A.R.D.I.S. How cool is a call box - what an imagination! What a nerdy thing to do!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it...
Okay, I have a reeeaaally mean one.
One's gotta go.
1. R2D2, the plucky droid that could, would, and did, thankyouverymuch
2. WALL-E, the environmentally friendly robot who dreams of holding hands with a lady robot
3. Murderbot, the socially awkward killing machine who just wants to watch tv and have friends
4. Mars Curiosity Rover, who sings itself happy birthday every year.

I'm a Star Wars fan, but I'd drop R2. I've always hated how perfect astromech droids are in Star Wars. Forget Jedi, Sith, clones, bounty hunters, and storm troopers. All you need are a half dozen astromech droids and you will easily enslave the galaxy. BB-8 slaughterd storm troopers with ease in The Worst Jedi. Last Jedi, I meant Last.
Nooooo! Come on, again? Well, at this point I’d have to say Murderbot, but that’s because I’m only marginally invested. Not majorly invested like with R2 and the Rover and WALL-E is just adorable and I’ve seen it a million times (my son is 10 - ‘nuff said).
Um, can I dump R2-D2, and wall-e, and murderbot all at the same time? I mean, seriously... I like them all well enough, but they all have their own minor and major problems.Keep your hands off my curiosity rover though.
1. Middle-earth2. Narnia
3. Hogwarts
4. Oz
5. Westeros
It's a tough one, but I'm giving the axe to Harry and his crew.

I think I’ll join Anna in eradicating Narnia. I’ve never been much of a fan.
Oz is beloved from early childhood, and I like both Middle Earth and Hogwarts. Someday I expect to gain familiarity with Westeros and I expect it would be more my speed than Narnia.
Uh... all? Unless possible influences to the creation of other works goes with them, then I'd have to do research.(In that case at least Narnia is safe, for this beautiful song references it - among other fairytales not listed here).
