Review: I probably bumped this up to a 4 because it was true to area described. It was set in and around Portland and I could tell the author had some knowledge of the area. Group of strong women own upstart trendy restaurant. Addison has a long history of falling for the bad boy rock musicians that tend to walk all over. But what happens when Jake, the ultimate ex-rock star walks into her life. Everything feels so right with him but she just can't let him in, she can't do the doormat one more time. Constant tussle between letting him in and shutting him out.

Review: Mercy is a sentinel for the DarkRiver leopard clan and Riley is a lieutenant for the Snow Dancer wolf pack. They have been assigned as liaisons for the alliance between the two sets of changelings. Mercy knows that her leopard needs a strong dominant mate but there is no one left in her clan who is unmated who fits the bill. Maybe this explains why she is so drawn to Riley. Riley, on the other hand, is a very protective man and has always dreamed of a mate who will stay safe at home and allow him to protect her. Mercy definitely doesn't fit the bill. And yet there is something about Mercy that draws him. In the midst of trying to handle their attraction, Mercy and Riley are caught up in the search for the members of the Human Alliance who seem to be trying to start a war. With the PsyNet crumbling, the humans seem to be feel that this is their time. And the changelings might be caught in the middle. I really enjoy this series. I love the characters and I'm excited to see what will happen next. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I am enjoying the story of these books. Basically there’s a feel that it could actually happen but then this book just went a little sideways. I started to lose interest partway through and then the ending got me (of course), so I’ll read the next one. Nothing to write home about. But it’s entertaining YA pseudo-dystopian fiction.

Review: This was a fun shorter story. I had a little demon fatigue after the 4 Horsemen stories so its been a while since I read Ione. I remember now how much I enjoy her humor, even if I don't always understand how all her worlds and beings interact. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series in the Demonica World.

Review:
This was a cute and fun read. The mystery was relatively uncomplicated though the story took a slightly round about way to get there. However the characters were fun and pace of the story kept me interested to the end and enjoying the journey. Its a cute series if you want something light and fin and I intend to continue on with it.

It's a fun series. I read through the rest of the series earlier in the year for various challenges. This instalment only came out last month so it seemed a good time to read it :-)

Review: This book was good but hard to slog through. She writes (or wrote?) exactly like she talks in Golden Girls. Which is good for TV but for a book it's hard to follow. I only knew of her as Blanche but she started as a ballot dancer and was a theatre actress all of NYC and beyond. She had a very tumultous love life but finally found the right man at 63.

Review:
If the woman howling from the backseat of Agent Carson's black SUV weren't already dead, I would've strangled her.
Charley never ceases to make me laugh. In this installment of the series, Charley is pregnant with Reyes child, twelve hell hounds have been unleashed to rip her to shreds, her dad is missing and several people are missing after leaving strangely familiar suicide notes.
This series is like a bag of chips. I simply can't stop when I start the book. I listened to this one which was new for me. It adds a bit to the story when someone brings the characters to life.
Charley is miserable because she has to give up caffeine during the pregnancy. Coffee is pretty much her existence most days. Her foray into decaffeinated coffee is a hoot.
The Hell Hounds are determined to destroy Charley and her unborn daughter, referred to lovingly as Bep (Black eyed pea: her current size) Charley enlists The Dealer to help her causes lots of problems with Reyes. Throw in her dead ex BFF and Charley is caught up a whirlwind.
In addition to the strange suicide notes, Charley tries to help a teenager whose body is missing from her grave and solve the mystery of a serial killer.
These books make me laugh. I love the quirky little starts to each chapter whether it is a T-shirt or a bumper sticker quote.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Review: Dev Santos, the director of the Shine Foundation, who we first met in Clay and Talin's book, finds a woman on his doorstep. She turns out to be someone who was thought to be dead. She was captured by Ming and her mind was ransacked. She was then programmed as a sleeper agent. Dev is drawn to her so despite the risks, he decides to help her. We hadn't seen much of Dev before but it was interesting to learn a bit more of the Forgotten. We also learn of some new and interesting mind abilities. I enjoyed the letters that Dev's great-grandmother wrote to her son during the decision to instigate Silence. I think that the Shine Foundation is going to be even more drawn into Changeling events after this book. I can't wait to read more of this series.
BTW, this is a paranormal romance book.

Review:
I enjoyed this instalment and it was the perfect Halloween read as in it Aisling and her family were facing zombies. I liked the way the mystery panned out but I especially loved the character interplay in this instalment. This more so than the mystery was made this instalment so enjoyable. I can't wait to read the next instalment.
I've read everything this author has written, Nikk. Except for one series I'm still working on under her pseudonym Lily Harper Hart.
Sam wrote: "I've read everything this author has written, Nikk. Except for one series I'm still working on under her pseudonym Lily Harper Hart."She is also lily Harper hart?????
That explains so many similarities I have seen LOL!! Though I do prefer her writing under Amanda M Lee 😀
Yup. She writes as both. I like both though her Lily Harper Hart MCs are all very similar. Her Amanda Lee characters have a little more variety. The only series I haven't finish is the Hardy Brothers Security series. There is nothing paranormal about them; they are just regular contemporary romances with a little mystery thrown in. I think that's why it's taking me so long to finish them.
OH SNAP! The book I thought i was reading for this was #1, i must have looked at the 61 instead of the 70 when I picked the paranormal book. Let me look at the other books I've finished this week. Or I will need to pick a new one that is short. I know nothing else I read was paranormal. Do we all need to read paranormal to get the bonus?
OK. So none of my other books fit the series # so I'll hunt down something else and get back to you....
Plethora wrote: "Do we all need to read paranormal to get the bonus?"
Same as with the other bonuses, just one team members needs to fulfill the requirements.

I can't believe I totally messed up the #. But I guess when you work a 10 hour shift with a 1.5 hour break until the job and work a 9.5 hour day it is easy to do. It was a brutal start to the week.

Loved this. It’s seemingly a simple story about an immigrant family in the US but it’s so much more than that. It also made me super nostalgic since it spoke of nyc in ways that made me reminisce my own time living there. It’s was a good story and worth reading. I listened to the audiobook and loved the singing and the accents - made it feel more real.

How it Fits: Book #7 in Mercy Thompson Series
Review: This series is solidly entertaining for me, although I'm not usually waiting anxiously for the next one to be released -- so I'm quite a few books behind. This one started out as a kidnapping/hostage story, and somehow moved into Mercy -- once again -- fighting for her life and with a whole slew of vampires. It was good, and I enjoyed seeing everyone again, and eventually I'll read the next one.

Review: This was just one of those easy to read, light and fluffy rom-com's. Sometimes these just are an easy escape from the daily drama and stresses of life. Sure everything always seems to be overly convenient, but some days you just may wish life was that simplistic. Two separately engaged people, already feeling that they may not be engaged to the right person meet on a cruise ship where neither is traveling with their other half. You see exactly where this is heading from the get-go.

Review: I find that as long as I leave some time between my Kristen Ashley reads, I enjoy every single one. The 5 stars for this one go solidly to Mitch. I liked Mara well enough -- I even understood where her crazy number system came from. But Mitch was just written perfectly. But I skipped Book 2 -- so now I have to wait a few weeks before I go back and read that to finish the series. :)

Review:
Groundhogs invaded the basement of the Frog Ledge Unitarian Universalist Church.
Stan has been tapped to provide the gift for Lilypad, the groundhog, on Frog Ledge's annual Groundhog Day celebration. The town historian, Helga, was to give a speech about the history of Groundhog Day in Frog Ledge. Helga is unfortunately found dead at the bottom of the stairs of The Historical Society before the culmination of the event. Stan leaps into sleuth mode when questions arise about the circumstances of Helga's death.
I really enjoy this series. I love the recipes for organic treats for cats and dogs. I've made quite a few and they go over great with my crew. It's nice to see that Stan is settling into the quirky little town of Frog Ledge. The townspeople are as odd assortment that make me smile. I really love that Stan tends to assign soundtracks to her various life events.
The tension between Stan and Jake was upsetting. They seem like a very well matched couple. An outside influence that could lead to a triangle was frustrating. Poor Jake had looked to Helga as a surrogate grandmother so the whole situation was hard for him.
I like that an old cold case was introduced as a part of the story line. The ghost hunters were a bit much at times.
For the most part this is a feel good series that advocates for pet rescue and healthy food for our furry friends. The quirkiness of the town just adds to the enjoyment. I look forward to reading the next book.

Review: A werewolf shifter views himself as broken by his time in the military. Now he is out to stop a senator hell-bent on making shifters register so he can continue his support of medical testing in the hopes of creating the ultimate super warrior. Jared has decided he must end the senators life to kill the legislation he wants to push forward. But just before he wants to pull the triggers he catches a glimpse of something unbelievable....the senators daughter is a shifter? He is derailed by Grace and her beauty and his actual desire for something that he thought was dead inside of him. Grace has no idea what being a shifter really means, she has hidden it from everyone.

Review:
This book was amazing. From beginning to end I was captivated. Given where the last book ended, I was eager to see how it would all play out and I was not disappointed. We met some new characters in this book as well as catching up with the main ones from books 1 and 2 and I loved that right to the end i had no idea how the author would conclude this series. The whole concept of this series as been different and unique from the beginning and completely and utterly captivating. The only disappointment is that the series now over :-(
