I think I'm only going to do 2... Really only 1 of the books I'm planning on reading in October fits into one of these. I'm hoping at least one of the others ends up fitting in.1. Read a book that takes place in a spaceship OR
The Lake {Seriously, do not read it, even though it's tempting because it is free and somehow has received high ratings} - 10/20
3. Read a book about a serial killer OR
In the Woods {There are 5 in the series, as of now} - 11/15
2/2
3/2 - Challenge Complete1. Scream! was Michael and Janet Jackson's song. Read a book that takes place in a spaceship OR read a book that makes you want to scream. Zombies: The Recent Dead by several authors - this one is about zombies, so it works with the scream task.
3. Scream is a series of American slasher films and consists, to date, of four motion pictures. Read a book about a serial killer OR read a book from series that has at least four books. The End of the Story: The Collected Fantasies, Vol. 1 by Clark Ashton Smith
5. The Scream is a famous painting by Edvard Munch. Read a book that has painter as a character OR read a book in which a painting plays an important role. Dragons and Dreams: A Fantasy Anthology - One of the stories features a painter

He Ain't Lion by Celia Kyle
It was good if you like smut, were-cats and a book that doesn't take itself seriously. It made me smile.
Welcome to scream, Theresa!Jayne, so that might be book for me then. Well the werecat part at least.. :D
Oh I've been really bad about my challenges lately plus I'm trying to only read books that I already own for the rest of the year, so I'm just going to sign up for 1.
I finally finished Lolita! And since this book definitely made me want to scream, I'll consider this my first book for this challenge. What a horrible book.
1/3
Well, finished my first one. Maybe I will be able to get 3 after all!1. Scream! was Michael and Janet Jackson's song. Read a book that takes place in a spaceship
Hi Merja, Cassandra,It's not that I wouldn't recommend the book, it's just not one I would read again.
I can understand the subject can be disturbing, and I didn't have a problem with that. I wanted to read the book to see if I could get a little idea about what drives Humbert.
I just hated the writing, it was way too lyrical for me. Which made the text drag on and on. And because of that, I couldn't really get into Humberts head (which might be a good thing, considering how disturbed this man is).
3. Scream is a series of American slasher films and consists, to date, of four motion pictures. Read a book about a serial killer OR read a book from series that has at least four books.
The Bone House*** This book is the second book in the Bright Empire series which has 5 books.

5. The Scream is a famous painting by Edvard Munch. Read a book that has painter as a character OR read a book in which a painting plays an important role.
Duma Key**** What would you paint if what you painted became reality?
2/3 Complete
Merja wrote: "Duma Key, should read that someday. I've bought it few years ago but haven't started.."I liked it, it was nice that Stephen King wrote a book and he didn't go Stephen King.
Just completed #4 (female singer character) - Edge of Eternity by Ken Follett. I love this series and Follett's writing, and truly love the accomplishment of reading an 1100 page book. My only criticism, which I have found in the other books as well, is that about half way through the plot loses its zest. The characters tend to fall out of character, and there are gaps in the plots for each concurrent storyline. Other than that minor issue, I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend the series. 4.5 stars1/3
Just completed #3 (serial killer) - The Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly. I enjoy Connelly's writing and the Harry Bosch character, and I particularly appreciate his better-than-most legal accuracy. However, I felt this book dragged in parts. Overall entertaining and definitely recommend the series. 3.5 stars2/3
I finished Gone Girl today. Wow, would I want to #1 scream if I were the characters in this book! Such a great job of writing by Flynn.1/2
I finished Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband, it's the first book of a series of 8,for number 3
So I'm 2/3
