Lauren (laurenjberman) Lauren's answers to Lisa Kay's DQs for chapters 7-13

6. Oh, dear. If I were a man, I wouldn’t want anyone to discovering me tugging on myself. LOL! Regardless of the tempting offer of pancakes, I think Izzy needs to learn some boundaries. Still, I have to laugh that his passes are making her more confident, instead of frightening her off. Comments.

Lol! That scene was certainly .... unexpected. The language in this book is far more forward than your usual historical fare

7. What is your impression of star-struck Miss Pelham, the vicar’s daughter? Will she be Izzy’s friend or competition in the Duke’s affection? Or will she just drive her batty over her childhood legacy, “Little Izzy Goodnight”?

Right now I think she's going to be a friend not a rival mainly because she is so ditzy and there is no way Ransom is going to fall for her.

8. BOOK QUOTE: “Heart. They require the reader to possess a heart.” Oh, snap. What a comeback from Izzy. Comments.

Poor Ransom! Izzy certainly isn't holding back. Is she?

9. Do you think Ransom will get his eyesight back? If so, will this be too much of a fairytale ending for you?

There do seem to be some hints at this but it would be too much. I rather like the idea that Ransom sees with his heart rather than with his eyes.

10. Do you have any suspects as to who is stealing from Ransom? Is the same person who’s fudging the costermonger accounts the same as who bequeathed Izzy Ransom’s castle?

My money is still on the lawyers.

11. Ransom’s father sounds like a nightmare. What a childhood. That, coupled with his position and the accompanying sense of entitlement explains his gruffness. Comments.

Yes, what a sad and lonely childhood. It isn't surprising that he is careful with his emotions.

I also have to wonder about that letter he threw in the hearth and the duel he fought - did he catch his fiancée with another man?

12. The Moranglians have arrived!? Will these devoted fans feature more in the story? Will Ransom ever read the books?

Hopefully not! They are kind of irritating.

I don't think he'll read the books and Izzy doesn't want him too - they give people a distorted view of who she is and she wants him to see her as she really is.

13. I am enjoying the conversations between Ransom and Izzy almost as much as the kissing scenes (maybe more), whether it is about Lord Peregrine or her octopus hair, or whatnot. LOL! And loved her thoughts on being saved from “ruination…by ruins.” But then, I love puns. And that castle is pretty huge; scary to think of it falling down around their ears. What do you think of Izzy’s momentary hope that Ransom not regain his sight, so that he never know she’s not what is considered attractive for that era? All too human of her?

yes, I'm enjoying their banter very much. I can definitely understand where Izzy is coming from but I don't think she'll have to worry because Ransom is obviously already falling for her.

Lauren (laurenjberman) Lauren's DQs for chapters 14-19

14. I love Duncan’s reactions to Ransom’s dishevelment - such an affront, lol! Were you disappointed that Duncan told Izzy about Ransom’s past rather than the Duke himself?

15. The thief is very bold. I mean tens of pounds to hundreds of pounds is one thing, but to sell a castle out from under someone is quite something. Do you agree with Izzy that the solicitors’ plans are more nefarious than simple pilfering?

16. The death of an author prior to the completion of a series is a familiar occurrence in the book world. Do you identify with the Moranglians’ need to know the outcome of The Goodnight Tales?

17. The letter Izzy reads is from Ransom’s fiancee. What did you think of her descriptions of him as “unfeeling and cold”? Did The Goodnight Tales really convince her that eloping was the solution? Given Ransom’s admission that he didn’t love her and never would, were her actions justified?

18. The castle seems intent on foiling Ransom and Izzy’s amorous activities - first in the folly and then in the library. Perhaps it is waiting for true love just as Izzy is?

19. That Martin is a real SOB. I really hope he gets what he deserves by the end of the book. Wouldn’t it be an interesting coincidence if he had something to do with the thievery and the castle being sold….

20. OMG! A body in the Priest Hole. Sounds more like an Agatha Christie mystery than historical romance!

21. What were you expecting when Izzy called out for Ransom? I sure wasn’t expecting … candles. Maybe a corpse or two but not candles… The gothic atmosphere of the castle is getting to me :0)

22. Book quote: “A girl like Izzy didn’t have the luxury of being choosy with her nights of wild passion” - isn’t this just a little sad that no-one except Ransom can truly appreciate Izzy for the wonderful woman she is and even he says that if he hadn’t been blind he never would have noticed her?

23. Izzy’s taking her night with Ransom very matter of factly - she is definitely deluding herself! Ransom doesn’t like being on the receiving end of platitudes that he once used with other women - poetic justice?

24. Scum-bag lawyers! Izzy was right!

June (ladyjune) | 315 comments June answers to Lisa Kay’s qs for ch.7-13

6. ROFL. It must be really embarassing if it happened in real life, but it was hilarious.
7. Miss Pelham was such a fangirl, LoL. Well to be honest I probably acted like her if I met my idol or maybe Tessa Dare :)
8. well, Ransom did act like a douchebag sometimes.
9. I i finished the book so I know how it ended. I'm pretty much satisfied with it. btw, does anyone know what is Ransom conditions in modern medical term?
10. It was actually pretty predictable but TD make the confrontation later in very amusing way.
11. His father probably raised that way, too. it's sound very sad and lonely, no wonder he grew to be cynical.
12. Moranglian cosplay! Awesome! And look, Ransom aka Ulrich also got his own fangirl army, lol
13. Their banter was hilarious!

message 110: by Lauren (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lauren (laurenjberman) @June - I think the medical term is "traumatic optic neuropathy" - damage to the optic nerve caused by injury usually blunt force trauma to the head.

14. Me, too. One of many reasons I love TD is that she give secondary characters, like Duncan, personality. It make reading them so much fun. I don't mind Duncan told the story, because Izzy (and us) need to know, but Ransom not ready to share that part.

15 and 24. Scumbag lawyer indeed.

16. There are some series that written by other author after its a original author died, for example, Jason Bourne series. I imagine it would so much worse if the author just abandoning the series. I know there is one mangaka (someone who write and draw manga/Japanese comic) who gave up on his series and took on hiatus to start new project. The Manga was long run and pretty popular, so when he announce it, his fans getting really upset and start petition to continue the series. It didn't work, I think the manga still on hiatus, and the new manga gain more fame, so he probably won't get back to his old manga anytime soon. I don't know how his fans feel about that.

17. I think it taught the girl to believe in love and go for what she believe in. I say good for her for run and elope. It's not like Ransom love her. Ransom probably only saw her as ideal duchess to get an heir with, and she did love another.

18. Lol yes, maybe the castle try to protect little miss Izzy Goodnight pure and chaste from big bad wolf, LoL.

19. Agreed. What a horrible person!

20. But it did give Ransom and Izzy sexy time :)

21. Awwww he was so considerate. Admit it, Ransom, you do have a heart, big soft fluffy one :D

22. Yes it is sad. And I can understand that . I think Izzy a bit insecure due to peple keep perceive her as their little heroine and let's face it, Ransom was shallow and cynical. I like that we see both of them grew throughout the book.

23. hehe. Fortunately Ransom wasn't the type that give up without a fight :)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Lauren’s DQs & Lisa Kay’s Answers for Chapters 14-19

14. I love Duncan’s reactions to Ransom’s dishevelment - such an affront, lol! Were you disappointed that Duncan told Izzy about Ransom’s past rather than the Duke himself?
I was a little surprised at that…but his telling it like a “fairy tale” sort of went with the story.

15. The thief is very bold. I mean tens of pounds to hundreds of pounds is one thing, but to sell a castle out from under someone is quite something. Do you agree with Izzy that the solicitors’ plans are more nefarious than simple pilfering?
Yup.

16. The death of an author prior to the completion of a series is a familiar occurrence in the book world. Do you identify with the Moranglians’ need to know the outcome of The Goodnight Tales?
Yes. I also see their frustration when they have to wait five, ten, or more years for the next installment. However, it does give you an opportunity to write your own ending.

17. The letter Izzy reads is from Ransom’s fiancee. What did you think of her descriptions of him as “unfeeling and cold”? Did The Goodnight Tales really convince her that eloping was the solution? Given Ransom’s admission that he didn’t love her and never would, were her actions justified?
She was young, scare, and in love with someone else. Nah, she might have used the stories to latch onto, but she had already made up her mind. Sometimes reading something just clarifies something you already knew in your soul. I would say they were, considering, but she should have been more honest and upfront about it all.

18. The castle seems intent on foiling Ransom and Izzy’s amorous activities - first in the folly and then in the library. Perhaps it is waiting for true love just as Izzy is?
LOL! I never thought of that… but I think you’re onto something.

19. That Martin is a real SOB. I really hope he gets what he deserves by the end of the book. Wouldn’t it be an interesting coincidence if he had something to do with the thievery and the castle being sold….
We can only hope.

20. OMG! A body in the Priest Hole. Sounds more like an Agatha Christie mystery than historical romance!
I know! Eeep!

21. What were you expecting when Izzy called out for Ransom? I sure wasn’t expecting … candles. Maybe a corpse or two but not candles… The gothic atmosphere of the castle is getting to me :0)
I was completely surprised, too, especially after the skeleton.

Yes, it is sad. I think we – all of society – base too much on outer beauty and not inner beauty. It is a shame we are conditioned that way.

23. Izzy’s taking her night with Ransom very matter of factly - she is definitely deluding herself! Ransom doesn’t like being on the receiving end of platitudes that he once used with other women - poetic justice?
Definitely!

24. Scum-bag lawyers! Izzy was right!
Yup. Scum-bag lawyers.

14. I love Duncan’s reactions to Ransom’s dishevelment - such an affront, lol! Were you disappointed that Duncan told Izzy about Ransom’s past rather than the Duke himself?
No I didn't expect Ransom to talk about his past . He was too grumpy at that point for that !

15. The thief is very bold. I mean tens of pounds to hundreds of pounds is one thing, but to sell a castle out from under someone is quite something. Do you agree with Izzy that the solicitors’ plans are more nefarious than simple pilfering?
Yes But I couldn't guess what kind of plans

16. The death of an author prior to the completion of a series is a familiar occurrence in the book world. Do you identify with the Moranglians’ need to know the outcome of The Goodnight Tales?
Yes I can just imagine how I would feel if something happens to the author of on the series I'm following !I take that back , I can't even imagine !

17. The letter Izzy reads is from Ransom’s fiancee. What did you think of her descriptions of him as “unfeeling and cold”? Did The Goodnight Tales really convince her that eloping was the solution? Given Ransom’s admission that he didn’t love her and never would, were her actions justified?
He probably had been cold and unfeeling towards his fiancee. I don't believe the Goodnight tales had been the reason she had eloped . They might have given her the idea but it has still been her choice to do it. Yes her actions are justified ,she was being forced to a marriage she didn't want . She could have done it better . She could have talked to Ransom convinced him that she didn't want to marry him.

18. The castle seems intent on foiling Ransom and Izzy’s amorous activities - first in the folly and then in the library. Perhaps it is waiting for true love just as Izzy is?
;) perhaps

19. That Martin is a real SOB. I really hope he gets what he deserves by the end of the book. Wouldn’t it be an interesting coincidence if he had something to do with the thievery and the castle being sold….
Yes it would have been great if he had gotten what he deserved

20. OMG! A body in the Priest Hole. Sounds more like an Agatha Christie mystery than historical romance!
I wasn't expecting that at all ! I thought it's a treasure or gold or something along that line. Not a body!!!

21. What were you expecting when Izzy called out for Ransom? I sure wasn’t expecting … candles. Maybe a corpse or two but not candles… The gothic atmosphere of the castle is getting to me :0)
I thought the turret ceiling had come down or something like that ! Not the candles ! But it was a great romantic gesture even if he wasn't aware of the romantic nature of it

Well he had been after certain kind of women, not an innocent miss! As for Izzy thinking herself plain ,that's just lack of confidence

23. Izzy’s taking her night with Ransom very matter of factly - she is definitely deluding herself! Ransom doesn’t like being on the receiving end of platitudes that he once used with other women - poetic justice?
LOL it was funny ! Yep definitely poetic justice

24. Scum-bag lawyers! Izzy was right!
Yep

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments ShoSho's Questions for Chapters 20- Epilogue

25. What did you think of the revelation that he had tried not to win and that's how he's got his injury ?
Book Quote "I feared she hadn't gone willingly .On that point ,I was correct." What does this mean?

26. Moranglians to the rescue !!Was it a good idea to use them as servants with their wired outfits ?

27. Could they have pulled off the original plan (Not letting the solicitors know about his blindness) if Ransom had gone through with it? Was Izzy wrong to surprise him with the dinner ?

28.Were you surprised by Ransom marriage proposal (more like order) or by Izzy's refusal ? What did you think of Rnasom's cruel word afterward to Wendell , Izzy and Duncan ?

29.Finally the Goodnight storied were read to him and he figured out that Izzy was the writer . Were you expecting that?

30.Finally she reveled her dark secret !!! What did you think of how Ransom convinced her that she was wrong ? ***Fans herself***

31. Were you happy with all that happened and how everything was resolved with the inquisition and the doctor's refusal of going ahead with the lunacy hearing ?

32.What did you think of the epilogue ? How did you rate the book ? Overall what did you think?

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I'm going to answer my own questions :P

27. Moranglians to the rescue !!Was it a good idea to use them as servants with their wired outfits ?
Those outfits weren't a sign of sanity ! That's for sure but I was happy that they could help Izzy with something

28. Could they have pulled off the original plan (Not letting the solicitors know about his blindness) if Ransom had gone through with it? Was Izzy wrong to surprise him with the dinner ?
I think they would have pulled it off but they couldn't have kept his blindness a secret for long . I thought the way she was treating him was wrong . His ego was bruised

29.Were you surprised by Ransom marriage proposal (more like order) or by Izzy's refusal ? What did you think of Rnasom's cruel word afterward to Wendell , Izzy and Duncan ?
I was surprised by his proposal but not by her refusal .I excepted better of him ,still my heart ached for him. It wasn't his fault but he was in a desperate situation and he started lashing out !

30.Finally the Goodnight storied were read to him and he figured out that Izzy was the writer . Were you expecting that?
There were some hints specially in the first few chapters of the book that she was the writer .

31.Finally she reveled her dark secret !!! What did you think of how Ransom convinced her that she was wrong ? ***Fans herself***
**Keeps fanning herself***

32. Were you happy with all that happened and how everything was resolved with the inquisition and the doctor's refusal of going ahead with the lunacy hearing ?
It was a bit anti climatic IMO! What happened to Blaylock and Rigget? I wanted something more . Plus I can't imagine a solicitor can bring such charges to a Duke of realm .Ransom was suppose to be a powerful man ,he can do whatever he wants with his money and wasn't what the solicitors did a breach of conduct? Reveling his private affairs to others ?

33.What did you think of the epilogue ? How did you rate the book ? Overall what did you think?

It gave it 4 stars . I loved the narrator ,she did a great job and I had the ebook to reread some parts. I loved the epilogue and I loved that Izzy continued writing the stories .

25. What did you think of the revelation that he had tried not to win and that's how he's got his injury? Book Quote "I feared she hadn't gone willingly .On that point, I was correct." What does this mean?
Yes, I liked that part; it was a nice twist. He says, “On that point, I was correctED.”

26. Moranglians to the rescue!! Was it a good idea to use them as servants with their wired outfits ?
Well, you knew something was bound to go wrong. Still, Ransom learned from them.

27. Could they have pulled off the original plan (Not letting the solicitors know about his blindness) if Ransom had gone through with it? Was Izzy wrong to surprise him with the dinner?
I think they might have pulled it off. Probably Izzy was wrong, considering she knew how he felt about it. Everyone needs a little push sometimes, but that might have been too much.

28. Were you surprised by Ransom marriage proposal (more like order) or by Izzy's refusal ? What did you think of Ransom’s cruel word afterward to Wendell, Izzy and Duncan ?
I wasn’t surprised by her refusal! LOL! Yeah, he was really acting out, wasn’t he?

29. Finally the Goodnight storied were read to him and he figured out that Izzy was the writer . Were you expecting that?
I didn’t suspect at first, but then I began to consider the possibility. I was never dead certain, however.

Yeah. I liked the tie in with Lord P, too.

I liked it. I gave it ★★★★½. Great narrator and the book was light, quick and fun.

June DQs for ch. 1-6

1. What was your first impression on Izzy and Ransom? What do you think about their first meeting? Oh no, not a fainting heroine!

2. So we got Ransom, our wounded and brooding hero. Any wild guess about his back story? What and whom he's hiding from? And how come Lord
Lynforth willed the castle to Izzy if it was Ransom's. I smelled foul play here. Comment? My first thought was Peninsular Campaign and I thought his family must have thought him dead

3. Oh Snowdrop! I didn't expected that. Poor Ransom! LOL. I think its cute and very likely that an admirer gave a gift for someone he admire, although I think a weasel might not be practical choice. Izzy seem to have large fanbase :D
Comment ? Weasel!
4. “There’s a rule about sunsets in this castle, Miss Goodnight.”

“There is?”

“Yes.” He turned her to face him. “And a man and a woman standing in this very place are compelled to heed it. No choice. There’s only one thing to be done.”

“What’s that?”

Her pulse stumbled. Surely he couldn’t mean to . . .

He lowered his head and made his voice a seductive whisper. “Duck.”
I didn't see the bats coming.

I thought he was going to kissed her, LoL. I must say I really enjoy their interactions, even if he tried to scare her to go away. They are funny. Do you like their banter? Yes

5. And then they KISSED ! What do you think about their "first" kiss? I LoL-ed when she demanded he do it again and do it right. Ransom had no idea what hit him. LMAO I read that part twice

Regardless of the tempting offer of pancakes, I think Izzy needs to learn some boundaries. Still, I have to laugh that his passes are making her more confident, instead of frightening her off. 8. BOOK QUOTE: “Heart. They require the reader to possess a heart.” Oh, snap. What a comeback from Izzy. Comments. Is "Heart" the suspension of disbelief?

9. Do you think Ransom will get his eyesight back? If so, will this be too much of a fairytale ending for you? I was convinced he would

10. Do you have any suspects as to who is stealing from Ransom? Is the same person who’s fudging the costermonger accounts the same as who bequeathed Izzy Ransom’s castle? I thought someone in his family was making off with his title and fortune.

11. Ransom’s father sounds like a nightmare. What a childhood. That, coupled with his position and the accompanying sense of entitlement explains his gruffness. Comments. All things considered, he seemed pretty sweet to her.

12. The Moranglians have arrived!? Will these devoted fans feature more in the story? Will Ransom ever read the books? Absurd.

Definitely human of her, but who'd want to lose him?

14. I love Duncan’s reactions to Ransom’s dishevelment - such an affront, lol! Were you disappointed that Duncan told Izzy about Ransom’s past rather than the Duke himself? No, I thought it was a clever.

15. The thief is very bold. I mean tens of pounds to hundreds of pounds is one thing, but to sell a castle out from under someone is quite something. Do you agree with Izzy that the solicitors’ plans are more nefarious than simple pilfering? I wasn't clear on who the villains really were. Was there a nephew involved?

16. The death of an author prior to the completion of a series is a familiar occurrence in the book world. Do you identify with the Moranglians’ need to know the outcome of The Goodnight Tales? Who want's to be left hanging?

It was probably the best outcome for both, just surprising that she would send a letter to the author.

18. The castle seems intent on foiling Ransom and Izzy’s amorous activities - first in the folly and then in the library. Perhaps it is waiting for true love just as Izzy is? I kept expecting the castle to knock Ransom in the head and restore his sight.

19. That Martin is a real SOB. I really hope he gets what he deserves by the end of the book. Wouldn’t it be an interesting coincidence if he had something to do with the thievery and the castle being sold…. His treachery should have been punished!!!

20. OMG! A body in the Priest Hole. Sounds more like an Agatha Christie mystery than historical romance! What was up with that!

21. What were you expecting when Izzy called out for Ransom? I sure wasn’t expecting … candles. Maybe a corpse or two but not candles… The gothic atmosphere of the castle is getting to me :0) That was the sweetest part, for me.

Sad, but true - probably

23. Izzy’s taking her night with Ransom very matter of factly - she is definitely deluding herself! Ransom doesn’t like being on the receiving end of platitudes that he once used with other women - poetic justice? Half of the human race are such dolts!

24. Scum-bag lawyers! Izzy was right! Watch it now! You're giving scum-bags a bad name.

25. What did you think of the revelation that he had tried not to win and that's how he's got his injury ?
Book Quote "I feared she hadn't gone willingly .On that point ,I was correct." What does this mean? It was a noble gesture, but it seemed a little out of character. It would have seemed more like him to do it from pride. I didn't consider that she might have been abducted. It was an interesting turn in character.

26. Moranglians to the rescue !!Was it a good idea to use them as servants with their wired outfits ? It wasn't my favorite part of the book.

27. Could they have pulled off the original plan (Not letting the solicitors know about his blindness) if Ransom had gone through with it? Was Izzy wrong to surprise him with the dinner? I didn't think she was wrong, but she didn't anticipate his reaction. I was more surprised by his unwilling reaction.

28.Were you surprised by Ransom marriage proposal (more like order) or by Izzy's refusal ? What did you think of Rnasom's cruel word afterward to Wendell, Izzy and Duncan?

29.Finally the Goodnight storied were read to him and he figured out that Izzy was the writer . Were you expecting that? Yes. Hard to imagine the plight of women in those days!

30.Finally she reveled her dark secret !!! What did you think of how Ransom convinced her that she was wrong ? ***Fans herself*** She should be so ashamed of taking advantage of the poor man :-)

31. Were you happy with all that happened and how everything was resolved with the inquisition and the doctor's refusal of going ahead with the lunacy hearing ? Yes. It was touching

32.What did you think of the epilogue ? How did you rate the book ? Overall what did you think? HEA at it's best! I rated it a 4. I thought it was a very pleasant read, and a little different from the run-of-the-mill plot.

#1 - LOL! Now we know the real reason so many women fainted back then. They were faint with hunger.

#5 - Definitely worth a re-read.

#29 - I agree. We can try an image it, but we don't really know. Must have been awful.

#30 - LMBO!

25. What did you think of the revelation that he had tried not to win and that's how he's got his injury ?
Book Quote "I feared she hadn't gone willingly .On that point ,I was correct." What does this mean?

It highlighted the fact that while he may have been cold toward Emily, he was definitely honorable. While I understand where Emily was coming from, I don't agree with the way she went about things. She should have been upfront and honest about her relationship with the farmer and not humiliated Ransom in the way that she did.

26. Moranglians to the rescue !!Was it a good idea to use them as servants with their wired outfits ?

I wasn't surprised by this little twist - it seemed obvious that they would help when servants were needed. In hindsight, it was both a good and a bad idea. On the one hand, it made Ransom seem insane but on the other, the guy from the Chancellor's office saw through it.

27. Could they have pulled off the original plan (Not letting the solicitors know about his blindness) if Ransom had gone through with it? Was Izzy wrong to surprise him with the dinner ?

That plan would not have worked. The solicitors were paying too much attention and would have noticed something amiss.

Yes, she was wrong but I don't see how she could do it any other way given that this was such a sore spot with Ransom.

28.Were you surprised by Ransom marriage proposal (more like order) or by Izzy's refusal ? What did you think of Rnasom's cruel word afterward to Wendell , Izzy and Duncan ?

I was surprised by his proposal but not her refusal. I shouldn't have been given how honorable he is and his need to protect Izzy.

His was cruel but I realized that it was because he was afraid and hurting.

29.Finally the Goodnight storied were read to him and he figured out that Izzy was the writer . Were you expecting that?

No, I hadn't figured out that Izzy was the writer. I suppose that I should have but I was paying more attention to the romance than to the tales

30.Finally she reveled her dark secret !!! What did you think of how Ransom convinced her that she was wrong ? ***Fans herself***

Lol! The man has a way with ... words

31. Were you happy with all that happened and how everything was resolved with the inquisition and the doctor's refusal of going ahead with the lunacy hearing ?

Yes, I liked the way it worked out and that Ransom wasn't miraculously cured

32.What did you think of the epilogue ? How did you rate the book ? Overall what did you think?

The epilogue gave a nice sense of closure to the story. Very sweet book - 4 Stars

#32. Agreed. There is no way the solicitors could have challenged a Duke in that way in real life. I'm sure that Ransom will have them brought up on charges and if not, he will be telling everyone what they did and they will lose all their clients.

Poongothai (poongsa) | 78 comments 1. What was your first impression on Izzy and Ransom? What do you think about their first meeting?
I thought of Beauty and the Beast. I liked Izzy’s positive attitude and Ransom’s crankiness

2. So we got Ransom, our wounded and brooding hero. Any wild guess about his back story? What and whom he's hiding from? And how come Lord
Lynforth willed the castle to Izzy if it was Ransom's. I smelled foul play here. Comment?
I think something happened in his wedding and his solicitors think that he is dead

3. Oh Snowdrop! I didn't expected that. Poor Ransom! LOL. I think its cute and very likely that an admirer gave a gift for someone he admire, although I think a weasel might not be practical choice. Izzy seem to have large fanbase :D
Comment ?
It was an unexpected pet

“Duck.”

I thought he was going to kissed her, LoL. I must say I really enjoy their interactions, even if he tried to scare her to go away. They are funny. Do you like their banter?
They are such a hoot together

5. And then they KISSED ! What do you think about their "first" kiss? I LoL-ed when she demanded he do it again and do it right. Ransom had no idea what hit him. LMAO .
Sweet Funny and romantic.

Poongothai (poongsa) | 78 comments 6. Oh, dear. If I were a man, I wouldn’t want anyone to discovering me tugging on myself. LOL! Regardless of the tempting offer of pancakes, I think Izzy needs to learn some boundaries. Still, I have to laugh that his passes are making her more confident, instead of frightening her off. Comments.
I didn’t expect such a scene.

7. What is your impression of star-struck Miss Pelham, the vicar’s daughter? Will she be Izzy’s friend or competition in the Duke’s affection? Or will she just drive her batty over her childhood legacy, “Little Izzy Goodnight”?
I think she will be Izzy’s friend.

8. BOOK QUOTE: “Heart. They require the reader to possess a heart.”Oh, snap. What a comeback from Izzy. Comments.
He certainly needs such comeback
9. Do you think Ransom will get his eyesight back? If so, will this be too much of a fairytale ending for you?
I don’t think he will get his eyesight back, but I don’t mind having a fairy tale ending if he gets it back

10. Do you have any suspects as to who is stealing from Ransom? Is the same person who’s fudging the costermonger accounts the same as who bequeathed Izzy Ransom’s castle?
It has to be the solicitors

11. Ransom’s father sounds like a nightmare. What a childhood. That, coupled with his position and the accompanying sense of entitlement explains his gruffness. Comments.
I’m sure Izzy will be give him the happiness that he lacked in his childhood

12. The Moranglians have arrived!? Will these devoted fans feature more in the story? Will Ransom ever read the books?
I don’t think so they will come back. No he won’t read the books

13. I am enjoying the conversations between Ransom and Izzy almost as much as the kissing scenes (maybe more), whether it is about Lord Peregrine or her octopus hair, or whatnot. LOL! Their banter is fun. She need not worry about his eyesight because he is not going to change his opinion that she is a beauty

Yes

16. The death of an author prior to the completion of a series is a familiar occurrence in the book world. Do you identify with the Moranglians’ need to know the outcome of The Goodnight Tales?
Yes. I will be really frustrated in not knowing the ending

17. The letter Izzy reads is from Ransom’s fiancee. What did you think of her descriptions of him as “unfeeling and cold”? Did The Goodnight Tales really convince her that eloping was the solution? Given Ransom’s admission that he didn’t love her and never would, were her actions justified?
Her actions are not justified. The Tales helped her in believing in her love, but she should not have used it as a reason to elope

18. The castle seems intent on foiling Ransom and Izzy’s amorous activities - first in the folly and then in the library. Perhaps it is waiting for true love just as Izzy is?
May be

19. That Martin is a real SOB. I really hope he gets what he deserves by the end of the book. Wouldn’t it be an interesting coincidence if he had something to do with the thievery and the castle being sold….

Gothic

It was unexpected

Ya, it is sad that the society gives too much importance to outer appearance. As most of Izzy’s acquaintances were not willing to see Izzy as a grown woman, she did not have any admirers. So she was not able to think herself as a beauty . Ransom was attracted to a certain type of women

23. Izzy’s taking her night with Ransom very matter of factly - she is definitely deluding herself! Ransom doesn’t like being on the receiving end of platitudes that he once used with other women - poetic justice?
Yes
