DELETE!
The house elves. I hate the house elves. They are annoying with the way they speak. There is NO need for wizards to use slave labor! Hello? You are a wizard...just wave your wand to clean up! I loathe the very existence of the house elves in these books.
I couldn't get rid of anyone!!! the house elves could be free, but not out of the books!!! Dobby is important, though he dies.
i would get rid of cho chang. i didn't like her character. i know it was important for harry to have a crush and get his heart broken, but at least it could have been someone good!
Taking anyone out of the story would completely ruin it. Just those little things they do completely change it.
hmmm, let's see. maybe penelope clearwater. i guess she was ok, but we hardly knew her. but anyone else being gone would completely wreck the plot. i mean, even parvati, padma, lavender, and colin creevey. From Valentine:
hey guys! i wanna write something 2 tess. if voldemort was removed from the story, it would ruin the books. voldemort is the whole reason hp is important!!!
Maya again:
tess, i know what you meant. sorry about that, my little sister decided to be controlling and guilting. but mainly persistent. she doesn't get your comment. plus the fact that you just wrote a new one; she can be kind of slow... but i luv her!
I would say Rita Skeeter. Yeah, Yeah, I know, it would completely ruin the plot, but I don't care, I DONT CARE!! I HATE her!!!!! She's so EVIL. Another one...Gilderoy Lockhart. Again, I don't care if it ruins the plot, he's another character I absolutely hate. And lastly.. okay, I'm not going to say it. I was going to say Umbridge, but no way. Just because she was cruel doesn't mean she has to go. And if she left, there would be basically no book five. That's what made book five so good. So not Umbridge, I guess. And maybe the books needed Rita Skeeter. So.. basically, they could do away with Lockhart. He wasn't even important, and he was SO annoying!!!
I would delete Professor Binns, I think he is a stupid teacher.
Your mean......wasn't he the guy that made out with Charlie and Flur's daughter? Thats not very sad.I would probly get rid of Rita too. Although she was important.
well yea, but i don't like it when someone has to grow up without parents... harry did, i kno, but that was different.
I never really liked Trelawney.
Tonks (I never did like that woman), the Creeveys, & anyone mentioned in the epilogue that wasn't in the rest of the series.
Leah, why don't you like Tonks? I don't think I've ever meant someone who felt this way... I'd love to hear your reasoning.
I'm not quite sure why, to be honest. She just rubbed me to wrong way, I suppose. Also, I think that being constantly compared to her may have had something to do with it. For the past decade or so, I've been dying my hair and when she made her first appearance in the books, my family/friends/co-workers/etc didn't hesitate to mention her/my hair. It got old very quickly & made it extremely difficult for me to think highly of her.
I don't think I would delete anyone. I think ever character is important. But if I had a choice of giving someone a smaller part it would be...Lockhart. I hated Lockhart. I could hardly read the parts he was in.
i'd love to delete lockhart, but also i don't want to. i think that deleting any character would ruin the whole story... althuogh i fi could get my hands on bellatrix! (even if she's already dead)
I would like to delete lockhart but if i really had a choice i would have deleted rita skeeter! she sucks! she made harry's life soooo totally miserable and to top that she even wrote a book on dumbledore and said evil things about him! i was really happy when hermione caught her in the jar though(4th book) i loved that part!
ditto! but again, deleting her would have put the story out of whack because harry wouldn't have figured out about grindelwald having the elder wand, and he wouldn't have asked dumbledore/aberforth about their past to find out what really happened. sigh. darn you, rita skeeter!
hum... i think i would delete nevile's parents. i mean, of course they'd have to have existed, becouse they concived nevile, but i wish they were already dead, becouse it's so sad the way they are currently... =( of course better than that would be that they were not mad nor dead, but since bellatrix got to them...
I don't really want to delete anyone. If I'd have to get rid of someone I would choose Pansy Parkinson. She's just so stupid, nasty, and not essential to the plot.
I would have to say Pansy also. What a b*tch! Hate that girl!!!
I don't want to get rid of people, because that would ruin the story. Like I said, just give them smaller parts. Rita Skeeter was a pain in the butt! Hate her! And I hate Umbridge. I mean, you can't take her out because that would kind of defeat the purpose of book 5, but I hated her.
Oh, BTW, when I say I hate a character, I'm not saying, "that character was not well written." No, I'm more saying "that character was so well written that it made me hate her!"
I hate umbridge and Rita too, but I would not reduce their roles because I love reading about them. I think Umbridge was the best part of the fifth book.
I would delete peter pettigrew, it didn't really help the plot and it was totally unnecessary , although it would make book 3 a little weird...
probably marietta cuz she blabbed on the d.a. and i loved the DA !! shes such a loser for doing that..stupid girl...poor seamus only had one lesson...btw did u always know that seamus's name was pronounced, "Shay-mus"??? i didnt know that
I hated Marietta too and that's one of the reasons I really don't like Cho because she chose her as a friend.
I did not know at first that Seamus's name was pronounced that way. It makes sense because Sean is pronounced Shawn. I got so used to not calling Seamus that in my head, so even when I hear the correct way to say it, it sounds weird.

I also would not want to get rid of anyone. We are the sum of our experinces and the total of the experinces and the manor in which they were told are great...
ummm how about an opposite delete. Couldn't one Slytherin have been if not good at least ok. Come on everyone of them was evil and left during the final battle? I found that unrealistic
yeah I agree, even slughorn was a jerk (I thought)!I think I would add pyrite (I think that's how his name it spelled)
he was a a character that jo deleted in early drafts and from what she's said he sounds really cool!!
Slughorn wasn't the best, but...I don't know I kind of liked him. Snape was not a completly evil Slytherin. Does anyone know if Andromeda, Tonk's mother, was in Slytherin? Sirius said his whole family was in Slytherin, but I don't know if that included her because she turned out okay.
I agree about the Slytherins. There has got to be some good in there. I think it would have been cool it there was an outcast. Then they made friends with Harry. Of course, then they'd probably get beat up.
lol gunjari i thought it was see-mus too! i love the villains in hp... j.k. rowling made them amazing..i loved how there were so many female villains. my favorites were rita, umbridge and bellatrix. they were amazing characters!!
but anyway i think i would also delete zacharias smith..hes such a loser
Yeah, I liked the female villains too. And few decent Slytherins would have been better, but I really don't mind. There were a few Gryffindors, like McLaggen, who weren't too great themselves.

I'd pick Ernie MacMillan. He was just annoying :) but i still liked him, he was a funny character.
