I may be biased, but look into Taken.Emily met her knight in shining armor, started a beautiful family and became a vampire? She’s had ten years to deal with the crazy results of that devastating night. Fighting the urges for human blood and male intimacy were easy. Raising mortal children while sheltering them from The Confederation had its challenges but even it was doable. It was the move from New York City to rural Pennsylvania that nearly broke her. Together, she and Draco must honor their loyalties to Francesca, leader of The Confederation, while fighting for their lives and the lives of their mortal charges.
Katrina never had it easy. Orphaned at the age of three and raised by her much older brother came with more disadvantages than simply not having a mother to buy bras with. Nothing he said was true. He even changed her last name. Had her mother lived, she would have known she was to carry the Cole Legacy of Hunters into a new age. Instead, she must rely on new faces to help her transition to life as a vampire hunter.
While two strong women fight to resettle in their new reality, the vampire world continues to spin around them. Villains continue to build ruthless armies. Women go missing. Innocents become martyrs.
And then there is Felipe Castillo, eight centuries old and not against killing everyone in his path for what he wants. No one is safe. Vampires and Hunters alike must unite if there is any chance to save the mortal world from the slaughters he has planned.
Allred has played with genre lines in order to create vampire fiction riddled with Mythological characters, historical events, and all based on a sword carried by Beowulf.

It seems like I'm always pitching this series, but it's one of my favorites. You might try Law of the Lycans by Nicky Charles.
and
are the best in the series IMHO.Have you tried Karen Marie Moning? Her Highland Series is pretty steamy and has lots of Fae, time travel and trickery involved.
Most of the others that come to mind are more urban fantasy, but if I think of any others I'll post them. Happy reading!
The Others is a great series . The books are : Written in Red
, Murder of Crows
. There are more books coming and I can't wait to read them . The world is so different from whatever I read before and there are no good guys and bad guys , just different sides of human nature and nature itself .The main couple is wonderful . I warmly recommend this series because it's awesome !!!!
Try the guild series and psy-changeling series from Nalini Singh . This is my most read author and my favorite . I can't choose from her books witch one is best.
I LOVE The Others series! It's very refreshing and stands out among the paranormal genre. It's leans more toward fantasy than romance, but I've just begun to read the second book and things are getting interesting between Meg and Simon. My all time favorite has to be Patricia Brigg's Alpha & Omega Series. Mercy Thompson is great, too, but I really enjoy the chemestry between Charles and Anna. Fair Game was particularly good.

I have read Patricia Briggs, Mercy Thompson series a few years ago and I liked it (not loved) Thank you for the suggestions, I will look at all of these. It's interesting to see who other's favorite authors are in this genre.
Just another word about the Others series. Someone mentioned it leans toward fantasy more than romance. This is technically true. I would take it a step further and say there is no romance at all in this series. The first book had some hints of romance in the future, but the second book had none at all. So if you're hoping for some romantic relationship on the side of your UF, you're going to be disappointed.
I'd recommend Karen Marie Moning's Fever series & Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series.. Try Thea Harrison's Dragon Bound.. Larissa Ione's Demonica series, too.
Our tastes are ALOT alike. I would also recommend Larissa Ione's Demonica and Eternal Riders as well as Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld. I have to add that Cole and Showalter have been know to cross over characters in each others books so it's kind of fun.Too bad you didn't like Adrian's Midnight Breed, it's one of my favorites too.
The Charley Davidson Series by Darynda Jones is great, too. And I second the A&O series by Patricia Briggs.
Also: Black Mesa Wolves
(Alpha wolf is the best).
-these are pretty hot,menage included.
The Other's series:
Lisa Annesley wrote: "First books in some series that I think you'll like:

[b..."Along with LOTU and Demonica, Eternal Guardians and Sentinel Wars are also ones I would second for recommendation.
characters cross over from one to the other, and the first series leads into the second series. I never read apocalyptic books, but love these.
these 3 link into each other with characters crossing over
I don't like medieval books but love this series.
Waffle wrote: "So if you're hoping for some romantic relationship on the side of your UF, you're going to be disappointed..."As a general guide, romance is secondary to the plot or non-existent in some cases, when it comes to UF. PNR is generally the opposite. There are exceptions of course, crossovers, and then the whole clean romance vs. adult vs. erotica sub-genres within the sub-genres...etc., etc...
That's probably clear as mud.
I don't know if there is sex in The Others series and I don't want to know. I'll find out when I've finished it. But there is definitely romance, even though it isn't the main focus of the story.
Lisa Annesley wrote: "First books in some series that I think you'll like:

[b..."I have read many of these and they are great! (I'll have to check out the few I haven't read yet.)
I also enjoyed the Phoenix Pack series by Suzanne Wright.

[bookcover:Pleas..."Phoenix Pack is good. I see there there's another book coming out in 2015.
A few more:
Story of American Vampire Lords and how they get control of their territory. The first two books are to be read as one and feature the most powerful vampire lord Raphael and his gritty human mate: Cynthia.
Fantastic Author, about a female photographer who hears voices and travels to Istanbul where she meets some interesting beings. (hard to explain)
Two Vampire brothers, excellent world building fight over a human love interest.
Very similar to other Vampire brotherhoods. This is a Vampire Security organization/company
A secret world in another dimention in Washington DC. Their world is closing. These Vampires are mostly not the friendly type. A Grittty and dark series.
A shape shifter series...short, light and sweet.
Archeologist Grad student finds the tomb of Saloman, 17th century lord who was reported to be a vampire and unknowingly awakens him. Political power struggles, hot romance.
Again Fantatisc Author...four initial books but lots of spinoffs....about a vampire who meets a grad student and hires her as his assistant.....that is only the very beginning. Vampires take on an element which is their power....water, fire, earth or air.
Light fun series about humans who have been created in a lab with animal dna and were studies and mistreated until they were freed and are now trying to eek out a life for themselves. Don't expect much but everyone loves reading them. Hard to put down.
Vampires trying to survive in our world have bought a town and just trying to survive. hint hint on just trying.
I'd really recommend the fever series by karen marie moning mentioned above.I also love the experiment in terror series by Karina Halle. It takes a little while for the steamy scenes to begin, but you'll be so happy when it does and the storylines are great and a little creepy.
I read 'Darkfever' (first novel of the fever series) by Karen Marie Moning a week or two ago, and I have to say it was very addictive. It has Gothic elements, and an eerie atmosphere. It also had suspense, mystery, a hint of romance (which I feel will become more intense as the series goes on) a peppy heroine, and a male hero in it; He happens to be very dark and seceretive.
I've ordered the second book, and am now waiting for it to arrive. Can't wait!
Steamy with a good storyline? Honey, have you ever heard of an author called Amy Cross? She has several series' which are all amazing tbh...but my personal favourite is called Dark Season. It is a Paranormal Psychological Thriller...very very well written and such a mind blow when reading!
Highly recommended to all that have not read it yet xox

If you enjoyed the first book then you will love the other ones. I wasn't a huge fan of the first half of Darkfever. Honestly, took me well over a month to pick it up again. But holy geez! The series is fantastic. I read the rest in less than a week. :)
Veronica Del Rosa wrote: "Sameea wrote: "I read 'Darkfever' (first novel of the fever series) by Karen Marie Moning a week or two ago, and I have to say it was very addictive. I have also read all of Karen Marie Moning - fever series is fantastic. Three other series that have a similar Paranormal/Urban vibe include the "October Daye" series by Seanan McGuire. The first book is a bit slow in romance but the rest of the series has a wonderful tension building between the characters. The "Fighting Destiny" series by Amelia Hutchins is different. The first book blew me away, second was good, third - um, lets just say my opinion differs from everyone else. Lastly I loved "Shiv Crew" by Laken Cane. This series is brutal, there is romance, friendship, betrayal and a new sort of paranormal. Check it out - curious to find out other opinions.
I like Sierra Dean's Secret McQueen series
Jeanine Frost Night Huntress series
Jennifer Estep Elemental Assassins series
I read Darkfever and Dead Witch Walking a few years back and for some reason they didn't appeal to me then. However I was on a vampire kick at the time. Perhaps I'll revisit them now that I've branched out more into the paranormal world. I feel like letting go of The Darkhunter and Black Dagger Brotherhood books lately. Both series are feeling stagnant to me.
I think I didn't fall for the Midnight Breed Series because it felt like I was reading JR's BDB. I read the first 4 books of Adrian's and went on to something else.
It's certainly interesting to see everyone's favorite authors. I'm surprised I didn't see more Showalter recommendations. I also read her first in a series before but didn't get hooked.
I liked the first couple of BDB books, but I'm also a little over it. Glad I'm not the only one. I personally already really enjoyed darkfever, but it does get (even) better after that book. It's still one of my favorite series ever, but I can understand that it may not be for everyone. I hope you'll give it another go :)

I recommend Shelly Laurenston
her books are entertaining as hell and have that steaminess you are looking for.In case you have already read her books, I suggest a series I am reading at the moment is
not many steamy scenes but captivating non the less.
I quite liked Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead (and, obviously, the series!). It was light, fun, and this girl clearly knows her Religious Mythology! I recommend it :-)
Colleen Gleason's Gardella Vampire Chronicles was a wonderful little discovery for me a few years ago. I was delighted when I discovered a new spin off had been started.
Yasmine Galenorn has two series - I recommend Witchling, Book One of her Otherworld series. She has a TON of books and if Witchling works for you, you can read for a long time!
I would suggest the New Species Series by Laurann Dohner. The first one is called Fury. It's an excellent series. I have them all.
I pulled all of these from by 5-star favorites list (and I'm a hard grader ;-) If you want to see the full shelf, it's at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter (urban fantasy)
Naked Werewolf series by Molly Harper (slightly silly PNR, but not as silly as the titles suggest)
Elfhome series by Wen Spencer (Fantasy SciFi hybrid that has won big awards. Amazing.)
Everything by Shelly Laurenston or her pen name G.A. Aiken. She writes laugh-out-loud PNR and traditional fantasy.
Black Swan series by Victoria Danann. Sci-Fi PNR mash up by an independent writer that is simply wonderful. Cheap and you will love it!
The Others series by Anne Bishop. This is UF by an extremely accomplished and famous fantasy writer. Doesn't get better than this.
Monster Hunter International series by Larry Correia. Gritty, funny urban fantasy.
Elemental Mysteries by Elizabeth Hunter PNR by an excellent independent writier. If you don't know who this is, you should check her out.
Guardians of the First Realm by Sara King. PNR by an amazing completely independent and unknown writer. SO worth reading and supporting! Laugh out loud funny, too!
Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones. A funny PNR mystery series that never disappoints.
Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. An amazing UF/PNR series that sells like hotcakes for a very good reason. YOU WILL LOVE THIS.
Elder Races series by Thea Harrison. A well established UF/PNR series that is really excellent.
Everything by Karen Chance - start with the Cassie Palmer series. This is complicated UF/PNR with a time travel element. You really have to pay attention to keep everything straight in your head. I love that about it. Great fantasy elements and a little slapstick, too.
Kara Gillian series by Diana Rowland - UF/PNR about demons and summoners. Mystery-based. Very good.
Charlie Madigan series by Kelly Gay. Really excellent UF. The series is complete, so you can read the entire thing.
Seanan McGuire's InCryptid and October Daye series are AMAZING. The first is slightly funny UF, the second is modern fairy tale.
Graceling Realm by Kristin Cashore is one of my favorite YA fantasy series. It's remarkable.
Downside Ghosts series by Stacia Kane is a dark UF that is really well done.
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher is best-selling UF mystery for a very good reason. EXCELLENT.
Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews is also best-selling UF/PNR. Truly excellent.
Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole is best-selling PNR. Also excellent.
Horngate Witches series by Diana Pharaoh Francis is a very dark UF that is excellent.
Patricia Briggs is best-selling PNR/UF and excellent.
We have just published a new book; “Magic University Book One: The Siren and The Sword” by Cecilia Tan, the first book in a new LGBT series for adult fans of Harry Potter available at Riverdaleavebooks.com

Series/authors I currently read and keep up with..
Kresley Cole (my fav steamy paranormal writer)
Sherrilyn Kenyon (DH and the League)
JR Ward (losing some interest)
Jeanine Frost
Danika Dark
I used to read Laurell K Hamilton until she jumped the track into unreadable.
I have also read a few of the midnight breed series but I lost interest after a few books.
I love a good paranormal romance with a exciting plot and some steamy sex. I'm sad when I finish a new book by my go to authors above and I need to find a new series to lose myself in. Thanks in advance
