Blue | 825 comments Princess has to choose a suitor to be her husband. They have trials they must pass in order to be eligible for her hand.

She and all Queens before her are clones I think?

Dystopian world.

Princess always wears a veil.

Elizabeth (elizabethwig) | 32 comments Some parts of this remind me of Palace of Mirrors by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Not sure if it totally fits though!

Blue | 825 comments It is not Haddix book but that book looks good too. Thanks.

You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 95 from two months ago where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!

Rainbowheart | 28781 comments Kinda sounds like 5 to 1, but there are no clones.

Blue | 825 comments It isn't that one.

It was set in a European-esque country if I remember correctly.

Chi Chi | 1 comments Not sure if this is the book you are looking for but imma add it anyway,
The Heir by Kiera Cass
It fits in with some of the details so you can try looking at it.

Blue | 825 comments Not The Heir but thanks for trying.

I'm beginning to wonder if it was a short story.

Blue | 825 comments I remembered something else. I believe the Queen loved her handmaiden

Blue | 825 comments It was a short story by Sarah Rees Brennan but I cannot find the name of it though, so solved but I don't know the name of the story.

Blue | 825 comments FOUND IT!

Faint Heart.

I've put it under solved Adult as the edition of the book I found has adult fiction stamped on the back of it.

Rainbowheart | 28781 comments That's strange because After is a YA anthology.

I thought that too but the edition I saw in the bookstore this morning, which is how I remembered the book, was in the adult section and inside the flap where it usually says what genre the book is it says "Adult Fiction".

Should I move it to YA?

Done. Looks like the main category is YA, but I've added an Adult tag as well in the group bookshelf (re: "Some of the biggest names in YA and adult literature...").
