Sarah | 11 comments I am looking for a book or book series that would be fairly easy to read in Spanish. My fluency is probably about Jr High level. I read the Harry Potter series is Spanish recently, and it was just right for me. I’m open to any fiction genre, but my favorite is Fantasy. Thanks!

Aymee (asphaltcowgrrl) | 42 comments I'm not sure where you are, but locally, our bookstores have a foreign language section with all kinds of books. Years ago, when I was still in college, I found a Dr. Seuss book in both Spanish and English.

Aside from that, I know Amazon has a lot of children's books in many languages. Might be another good place to start.

I know, not very specific, but going and actually looking might help. :)

Sarah | 11 comments Thanks! That would be a good place to start. I’m cheap, so I’m hoping to find the books at the library once I know the title.

Karen | 262 comments You should be able to find The Alchemist and The Little Prince in Spanish.

For some oldies:

Roald Dahl

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Charlie y la fábrica de chocolate
Matilda - Matilda
The Witches - Las Brujas

E.B. White

Stuart Little - Stuart Little
Charlotte's Web - La telaraña de Carlota
The Trumpet of the Swan - La trompeta del cisne

I also found more modern series:

Red Queen - La Reina Roja
I recently read this (book #1 of a four part series) and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Twilight - Crepúsculo
Also a four part series, I didn't enjoy it but YMMV.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before - A todos los chicos de los que me enamoré
A three part series, very cute, I enjoyed it.

The Amulet of Samarkand - El amuleto de Samarkanda
One of my favorite series of all time, four books, also about a magician but not about a school like Harry Potter and not the same kind of magician

For nice stories originally in Spanish:
La edad de oro - The Golden Years - short stories and poems by a famous Cuban writer
